At 12:08, curious about that chair setup where a person would be dangling their legs over the kitchen counters and not have anything to prevent them from completely falling forward down after hitting some good waves.
I have fallen in love with the pilot house/deck salon motor sailors like this, the Sirius, Nauticats, CR's and such. My dream is to have a powerball choice of a Sirius 35ds loaded with the bilge keel, cutter rig.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The Sirius 35ds is an incredible design and is only beaten by the 40ds. I wonder why more manufacturers don't do similar designs? Their "basement" workshop space is a jewel of a feature! General visibility from inside and comfort in foul weather seems like a no-brainer.
I'm curios as to what's under the back half of the boat, I assume its just the engine and some storage, but it would have been nice to see, especially when other 40ft pilot house boats have a full size aft cabin and engine room.
I watch many of your boat walkthrough and commentaries, what would help many of us out here viewing would be to bring up the builders plans showing what the keel configuration and hull below the waterline looks like, which is beneficial in deciding as to its capabilities as a true Blue water World Cruiser. Perhaps you would ad this to your likes for those of us would be better informed. Thank you for your Efforts.
That boat appears to be in great condition. Very well maintained. Also a nice design. The curtains are probably more to keep the heat out in warmer climates than privacy. Feedback: it would be useful and educational to talk about the manufacturer, Cabo Rica. (Same for any of the boats; the maker matters.)
Perfect coastal cruiser, not really designed for world travel. The condition and style are incredible, I am not surprised it sold so fast. Good find Jordan.
@@travellingtascha Pay attention to her specs on sailboatdata, particularly the sailboat calculations. She is topheavy with a capsize screening of close to 2, meaning she is not really suited for heavy seas. A wide and light boat is better for coastal cruising, the width, weight, draft, freeboard and ballast matter. Keep in mind there is a difference in crossing an ocean and long term open ocean sailing, such as traveling the world. Most boats can cross an ocean (albeit painfully) but to be a world traveler the boat must be designed to withstand weather and keep you safe and relatively comfortable in whatever conditions you find yourself in. The build quality on the NE400 (Cabo Rico built) is top notch but she wasn't designed with world travel in mind. The design is key here and the name pretty much says it. If you want a Cabo Rico for world travel, stay with Cabo designed boats (Crealock, Paine) as these are designed more for blue water. Compare the NE400 to a Cabo Rico 42 Pilot they look alike but the specs on the Cabo 42 give an indication that her design is meant to handle blue water more than coastal cruising.

At a reasonable price I would buy a boat like this, immediately. I am in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and I've been on the market for such a boat since 2012
Jordan, I totally agree with you on boat. I like the pilot house design. Unless I missed it the only item I didn't see was a radar system. This boat design would be wonderful in bad weather. What is the asking price for this boat? Thank you
I've been enjoying your boat tour videos. I'm watching to educate myself on what I'm looking for in my own live aboard. One thing I'm always wanting to know is interior head room. I'm 6'4" so that's a big concern of mine when looking for a boat to live on. If you could add that one bit of info on your walk through it would really help me and I'm sure many others. Enjoy the walkthroughs with scrolling specs but, sometimes I couldn’t read them because of the background color. Maybe put them in a block to the side? And slightly slower camera movements on the walkthrough please. Have followed from the first boat and love how the channel has adapted!
Very well designed and maintained. I like it a lot. The only item lacking for extended Florida cruising is an air conditioner, for when you are in a marina. I did without in my first real sailboat, a Pierson 26. Day sailing in the summer, week to 10 day cruises in the other three seasons. I wonder how it sails. I know the name but have no experience with those boats.
Because there is an ideal sheeting angle for the foresails to go up wind efficiently and then the sheets have to be lead from the sails to the track . If the shrouds are too wide the sails will not set right. So yes it's a compromise . On new boats they are reverting to large mainsails and smalller forsails which allow for different sheeting and rigging designs. But 30 years ago large headsails was the design style for many reasons. Cheers Warren I realize you question was probably rhetorical!
Lots of cool things about this boat on the hook or in a marina, but I would see it strictly as a coastal cruiser. I wouldn't want to subject it to any possibility of large seas. Visibility from that rear helm???? Love the kitchen and nav station though.
Amazing boat ! I'm not asking for the sale price of this boat but I am curious as who would a ballpark price range be for something like this in such amazing condition?
Thanks for the video. I note that your videos tend to be very focused on interior accommodations. This is understandable, since interiors sell boats and you seem to be acting as a peripheral aide to a broker. But... for us sailors watching, I think we tend to have more interest in gear, mechanics, tankage and stowage. Just a data point to consider. Thanks again.
This is how you get all the comforts of a catamaran but at the price of a model haul I mean I get the speed or the width but you still get all the comfort and I believe safer because I believe a model hole can withstand and knock down but a catamaran cannot
A great boat to live and cruise on... The office could provide a bedroom space for a baby or toddler...without a huge upheaval even for a few years. I assume the Piolet house bench doubles as an occasional or passage birth. As you said lovely condition, finish and functional layout... Now if she had bilge keels she would be perfect for off grid and European type waters. As well as N America high tidal areas. 😎😎⛵
Must admit nice boat other than being a Pilot House, same problem as Deck Saloon in hot places with all that glass. Too much like a Sauna when you don’t want to be in one. For me, Aft Cockpit is too small , single central Helm Wheel sucks, and I’d never have another tbh, plus Pilot House Roof really sucks for Solar Panel mounting due to shading effects. Galley is perfect though for use underway, Linear Galleys that don’t have good back bracing support, are dreadful even with a security strap when under way in choppy conditions. A pretty decent boat for someone sticking with Cooler latitudes though, just not my cup of tea for the Tropics, , Caribbean, or the Mediterranean. Same downsides as Centre Cockpit and Ketch rigged Boats generally. I wouldn’t want to do a Circumnavigation in any of those, but plenty of others, it’s right up their street, for at least a while. Thanks for the boat tour. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⛵️ 🌟 🌟 🌟
