    I love looking at these boats, the different layouts are always intriguing as to so how they've made the best use of the space they have.

    The rig is not a cutter, it is a Solent. The staysail is used for upwind work where you need to do much tacking. The genoa cannot be tacked unless you roll it up first.
    I don't think that the eyebrow on the foredeck is so much for spray and waves. It looks more to me that it is intended to shed the muddy water from the anchor rode while bringing it back on board.

    On a cruising yacht you must have better access to engine and genset. Love the cockpit.

    Thanks for the tour. Beautiful lines. NO EXTERIOR TEAK! Love it. Nice hard dodger and grab rails. BUT, you say great protection for the helm, not really. I would love to see the helm under the protection of that wonderful dogger. Very nice interior design EXCEPT……….wow, that engine access. Terrible. Take it from someone that has cruised thousands of miles and lived aboard for decades. Good engine access is critical! As is a protected helm. I also LOVE the tankage. A huge item soooooo often overlooked on many so called “cruising boats”. The only real negative is the engine access. Maybe a deal breaker. How could you work around this? Not use any of the under sink storage ( the boat has lots already). Even then I don’t know what that access would look like. ( and feel like) ouch. Again thanks for the look. Beautiful!

    This is a magnificent boat and used to be docked in Wilmington North Carolina a few slips down for me the boat has traveled the world and still doesn't show it. What a wonderful pic for your channel I personally miss seeing it everyday.

    Thanks for the tour. Great sailing yacht. The engine access is a true nightmare for maintenance, especially if you’re underway . No thanks on that one.

    I would put that sink/storage area portion of the galley cabinetry on lateral rails and when engine access is needed, unlatch, push it to port against the port side cabinetry, revealing full access to the engine compartment. Easy, fast and full access.

    I would definitely put everything under the sink into bins so that I could easily pull them out and stack them out of the way rather than have to pull each item individually and figure out where to put it. That would make access to the engine relatively simple. Pull a few bins pull up the boards and go to town working on the engine.

  • @frankmoore3598

    I'm guessing the owner figured engine access for servicing would be just annual and pre sail checks , so wouldn't need to have constant access. Can understand tradeoffs .

    For these offshore boats the redundancy of the 2 wheels and I assume 2 rudders is a very important factor to chose for this twin setup

      @@robertclemmons1666 true, but boat is 16 years old engine is about 50% done, boat currently costs $600k in another 16 years the price will be maybe $200k, What 15k for a new engine, and replacement cost to install it guessing 10 to 30k that’s a lot for a 200k boat,

    Pretty but…big & expensive to dock, maintain & sail. Too deep draft, terrible engine access & aging technology (no solar-lithium). Just compare a brand new fully equipped Island Packet 439…..

    Thank you for showing. Interesting boat but I guess the engine and generator will need upgrades soon and there is no solar or anything. The buyer will have to invest a lot to modernize. $600k is overpriced in my opinion.

    Nice yacht Jordan. As mentioned many times below the engine access is a little odd. With the hours on the diesel, it might be a good time to ditch it out for an electric drive. Otherwise, a very nice yacht.

    • @robertfrederick9061
      @robertfrederick9061 2 роки тому

      An electric drive as an auxillary?? Well ya better make sure that genset is in top shape to power that electric drive along with all the power needs of the cabin & get plenty of fuel for it. Look at the hours logged on the genset alone with the diesel engine.

    • @mattevans-koch9353
      @mattevans-koch9353 2 роки тому

      @@robertfrederick9061 True there are a lot of hours on the current engine. What that indicates to me is that the owners spent a lot of time motoring instead of sailing. I am guessing that much of their time on the boat had hard start and stop points determined by weekends vacations, etc. and required being back at the dock to resume work or some other primary activity on a set schedule. No wind, start motoring. Electric power, properly sized for the boat, is becoming more capable and more realistic than in the past. After all, power in sailing craft didn't arrive until the late 18th century, but sailing craft were around for more than 10 centuries prior.
      You don't need an engine if you don't have a schedule and don't care about getting somewhere quickly.

    Sure this a blue off-shore boat. But.... it is designed like a bus or train. Look at the way the seat erea is designed: it is like a waiting room. When you're sailing the world you want a "Home". Not a bus or a waiting room...

    Your camera work is getting sloppy. Too much movement and your pans are too fast. I was litterly getting sick to my stomach before you made it into the main cabin. Also you refer to every opening as storage. Several of the openings are into equipment bays and you do not use them for storage as stored items quite possibly can interfere with equipment operation. Still, thank you for sharing. It is a beautiful boat. Although engine access sucks. Have a great day and stay safe. 🙂🙂
