    How to boost self-confidence // Let me know if this works for you!

    • @PDXBeach
      @PDXBeach 7 років тому +3

      meditation (or prayer) is really therapeutic and appreciated. what I find is that self confidence goes down the more time is spent alone online filling out applications and not interacting with people. Going cold to an interview and crossing your fingers, then disappointed when you don't get it and it escalates. Keep the faith people!

    It is the first time I saw you cry . This video was so inspiring for me because I was a shy person and everybody was telling me that I should be confident and that was annoying because they just say it over and over again but they just did not know how I feel because they are not like me . They always tell me that I should be confident but they did not know the appropriate words to say . But thank God I came to know you because you are one of the few people who can genuinely help and simply give courage to me and give insight on how to really know what I really want . The past months I had been struggling to get a job . I had searched online , I had submitted a resume , I had stressed myself up , drained my brain thinking how I could get a job and all that . Thanks so much to you because you had helped and given me strength and virtually comforted me through this video . THANKS SO MUCH . LONG LIVE LINDA RAYNIER !

    Really appreciate that you share this. As a international student in Australia, I watched your video and prepared my interview for the first time and finally I got that job. And now I am back to my home country and looking for positions that I am interested. I am a person that always do not have enough confidence to express myself and tell the interviewer that I am a good fit for the job. I tend to compare with the other awesome people and tell myself I can't be like them. It's impossible. I think I should give myself a chance to try and believe that I can do that task and I am the best. Hope I can be confident and do whatever I want with confidence.

    Linda, continue to inspire people and broaden your dreams. A month ago I connected with your coaching content, I worked hard to change my professional reality and I came back to believing in my "inner strength". Today I would like to thank you, because I got a new role in an American company, my dream job (I hope) and certainly your videos helped me a lot. Thank you so much, Best, Juliana. P.S: I am from Brazil and I have just learned English, I have also overcome this challenge, a new language!

    I grew up in China, and the education we received is that you need to study hard and then you can be a successful person. Your parents, grandparents, your relatives or friends of your parents etc. will always try to encourage you to study hard by saying xx's son/daughter is getting a great results in the school, and you should study as hard as they are so you can get XX prizes from school or whatever. Or they will say why you can not be like someone's children who are good at school subjects and dancing/singing. Most parents from the 70's generation are tend to encourage their children by criticizing them. The problem here is your child might not be as tough as they thought, they may have a low self esteem if they get blamed all the way even after they grow up.

    I´ve spent countless hours over the past 5ish weeks trying to nail interviews, an hour from now I have an interview with the Head of People Operations of THE company I REALLY want to work for. And you may say Yeah! cool JD good benefits, NOPE this is THE ONLY company that offers mental health days off AND has bothered asking me in my application What makes me happy... So, as I´ve been waiting to meet with them and my heart beats at 100mph I would go over and over and over again another and another video, but THIS is exactly what I needed, THANK YOU SO MUCH LINDA!!!!!

    I had tears in my eyes watching this video. You definitely struck a nerve that I have struggled with for years now. I am currently in college and I am in a major (Health Science) I am in this major because of what I think my parents & society would comfortable with me doing, it is just one that I would most prefer. On the other hand I know what I would rather be doing (mass media tv/filmmaking) but it is not as respected as a profession. As of a couple weeks ago I was just going to accept my fate in finish my HS major because I did not have the money to transfer my transcripts to another college with my intended major. Then a couple days ago my cousin called me on a whim and after we talked she said she would help me pay for my transcript so that I could follow my personal dreams. The only step now is to have the confidence to actually jump despite what my parents will think of my decision because it is different. Love your videos. Thank you!

    Hi Linda;
    I’ve been watching your videos and this is the best and most important one of them all.
    Because you give all the best job tips in the world. But if the person watching your videos or taking your advice doesn’t feel good about themselves it won’t matter. Dr. Jordan Peterson says that if you don’t like yourself or afraid of life you won’t take actions that are in your best interest.
    One of the great things that you mentioned off the top is how in North America (and I live in the GTA) is how it fosters this value of competition.
    It’s an ingrained attitude that is taught and has to be unlearned. Telling people to just pep themselves up does not work. Your points on the video are very good. And I am glad that you actually made them and posted them.

    Hi Linda, I just stumbled across your videos and I just wanted to say how helpful theyve been just in the time Ive been listening and cleaning the kitchen. Im making a career field change after a divorce and period of unemployment and it just hasnt been working out. I dont get the offers I want. After watching your videos, I see how self confidence plays a role in almost every situation, professional and personal. When you said in this video that we need to find out the cause of low confidence levels, I realized instantly that the internal results of a bad divorce were still inside me. Now that I know several things I need to work on, Im going to redo my resume and practice for interviews based on your tips. So thank you. And if you ever decide to change from being a career strategist, you should definitely consider being a therapist. This video helped me so much. Thank you again. Im definitely a subscriber now.

    it was until i hit my adult years that i started to feel very nervous and afraid of what others think of me. This is really interfering with my new work place where im afraid to be myself and dont know how to get words out of my mouth to ask about something. I really want to see someone that can help with my anxiety of choking up when i talk sometimes but not sure where i can look for that help.

I have a lot of sales and management experience . They are promised me better position, but new young girl gat hired . Is this because of my age(50), or because of my second language?
