Lyrics:
Yeah
Clean shirt, new shoes
And I don't know where I am goin' to
Silk suit, black tie (Black tie)
I don't need a reason why
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
Gold watch, diamond ring
I ain't missin' not a single thing
Cufflinks, stick pin
When I step out, I'm gonna do you in
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
Uh-huh
Top coat, top hat
And I don't worry 'cause my wallet's fat
Black shades, white glove
Lookin' sharp, lookin' for love
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
Oh, you can't lose with the dress I use
That's right, real fine

Yes indeed..The 80's were great
TOTALLY.

Anything by ZZ.

That guitar riff still kills even 40 years later. So raw like a buzzsaw. Gibbons is such an amazing blues guitar player
One of the best!!!!!
ZZ Top mastered the melding of Blues and Rock in a unique style. They also showed a good sense of humor in their lyrics.
THIS WILL NEVER GET OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....TIMELESS RIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUCH LUV MCCLANE 8812
im convinced the drums and vocals are just there so they can claim the song wasnt only for the guitarist to riff for 4 minutes.

🤘🎸🎼🎶🎵🎶!!!!
YES MAN!
🔥🔥
What I love about ZZ Top was that they never took themselves too seriously. Sly, humorous lyrics and a sense of fun with their performances.
I like that they never followed the mainstream and just did their own thing. It was the mainstream that ran into them and never the other way around.
One of my greatest memories. My Dad, brother, and I (all heavily bearded men), were all going to a blues concert in a Chrysler 300. It dawns on me half way there, three men like us, going to a blues show in a big body Chrysler show car. All we needed to do was start saying "how-how-how" and start wearing shades in the dark.
LOVE THAT CAR!!
Yeah, especially with the bass with there absurd amount of strings

Being here because today I will go back into my parent's house to finally move in after my dad died three years ago. He was a huuuuge ZZ Top Fan and I heard the song before but never saw the video. A similar ZZ shaped key ring pendant was with him everywhere he went and now it's on my keys. Never new they used a similar one in this video but now I know why dad got it. Thinking of you everyday, Dad.
And he is with you in your heart and mind buddy give him all your lovin ..all your prayers and kisses too
Now you share ZZ Top as a part of your soul and his forever. Beautiful.
It's in other videos too, it was kind of a trademark

ZZ Top carved out their own niche. Tracks like this are industrial strength boogie. Riffs that simple and that memorable are incredibly difficult to do, but they made a career out of them. This is stuff that will last.
I was into their early stuff to like LaGrange and Asleep in the Desert. Great stuff.

Sharp Dressed Man walking straight through the pearly gate. Godspeed Dusty!
Fun fact. ZZ top still has a warehouse full of cars in San Antonio. My dad used to maintain them. He was close friends with the whole group. That 32 Ford was a true delight
The Eliminator in the video is a ‘33, there were at least two of them built.
Is your Dad single? 💋
But it's a 33 in the showcase and a clone 34 he drives around.

@@VtecdippinBB6siR the 1932 Ford line up did have a three window coupe model but the 1933 Fords looked very different to a ‘32.
R.I.P Dusty Hill. You'll never be forgotten
Unbelievable that there was only 3 of them delivering those epic noises. They sound like a much larger band.
Very true, l think sometimes that is forgotten..part of the reason that the drums can seem to much..a hell of a lot is going on in a simple riff..which much mean that they were brillant guitar players.
Never forget: ZZ Top had serious beard game decades before it became 21st Century chic. Respect and RIP to longtime bassist Dusty Hill.

So much influence in my young life. The '33 Coupe, the girls, the music. Everything a young guy could dream of.
I had a '55 Chevy with a 327 and 4 speed muncie in high school in '85 and Eliminator was blasting out of my tape deck!
Your damn straight those were good times!!!
Billy is up there with some of the best blues guitarists ever.
I was painfully shy & a total nerd back in the 80's. So I could've really used ZZ Top's fashion advice & their sweet SWEET ride to help me out with the ladies.
***** Haha. I can definitely relate to that. .
+Tobias Chance Given that I've detected a bit of a running theme in ZZ Top's videos (unpopular/nerdy loser type gets bullied for being unpopular/nerdy loser type, but then is transformed by a change of clothes and the power of rock into the person who gets ALL the girls/guys worth having and gets to rub it in their bullies' noses, and also get a ride in Eliminator with three smokin' chicks), I wonder if maybe the boys themselves were a bit of the shy, unpopular, nerdy types in high school...
rdfox76 That's true & a definite possibilty. But it's hard to imagine those guys as anything but cool. Maybe it was all those catchy songs, great guitar & awesome beards that ultimately transformed them into the badasses they are today. LoL
+KoolCat ! The vast majority of people who are considered "cool" in adulthood were nerdy and unpopular in their teens especially when it comes to rock and roll musicians. Most forms of rock music are made for outsiders, the ones who never fit in with any other crowd and were usually picked on by the self elected popular crowd.
+guitar19971 Very true. And that last part about R&R being made for all the outsiders is a great way of looking at it.
Man i really miss my 80s sometimes!
I love the guitar riff.
+cflores1889 the riff is an adaption of the riff from The rolling stones version of Chuck Berrys "Route 66"
Great in context with this song.
Spot on. I never knew that. Not just an adaptation. Plagiarism, Unless Berry/Stones rights owners acquiesced.
I do too!
I'd be thrilled if ZZ Top stole one of my riffs.
cflores1889 same too, it's a classic!
This is the most chill band to ever exist. They are rock and roll. Very cool guys in person and they can play good as studio recording at anytime in anyplace they are bad and they're nation wide

This song was brilliantly choreographed. The boys were in sync right down to the last wave of the hand.
Their "stagecraft" is brilliant.
Talented, creative, and fun to listen to, they are unique and are as down to earth as your best friend.
