season 2 may not be perfect but damn what a show i felt it was way more impactfull than season 1 even tho it had better pacing but well in my opinion gettin a show like that especialy these days is really rare and for me its an inspiration.... Arcane is truly peak

@lemonsterfr2243 I'm happy to see some people who like season 2 more! I can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be for the writers if that wasn't the case for a good amount of people. I think a lot of people would agree with you and there was certainly a lot I loved about this season. Still better than every other piece of media put out in the last 10 years. And I agree! Massive inspiration for me as well. I've gotten to study a lot of the themes they present in this show. It's helped me inspire to write for my book a ton of times. Thanks for sharing your opinion and watching!

26:45 the supposed reason for his change in attitude is his realisation and monogue at the end of ep6

Oop sorry I hadn't seen this. I really liked the monologue and I got what they were going for. I think my problem for the most part is they gave indicators of him knowing everything that would happen but also had him surprised when things happened to him. So after he made that speech it felt like it detracted from the effectiveness of it for me personally. I know that his character is kind of based on finding out if fate is actually fated but in the end every single iteration of history ended with the 'glorious evolution'. One of those times that I thought they'd say, "As I thought" instead of "I see now, the doctor was right." Idk just me overthinking things but I like to speculate about shows and their writing when I really like them.

Despite the issues, I really liked Arcane, The creators arent movie writers or anything they didnt really have any experience, and Its still their first series and one of the creators said on twitter that hes thankful of all the critisizms of the show and that they will learn from it. So im really glad they aknowledge it wasnt perfect and Im excited and will watch their upcoming shows.
Tho one thing i REALLY disliked about the ending was that they went with the cliche "its up to the viewer" ending for Jinx. She deserved a conclusion, even if its a bad one. Even the voice actors and writers keep insisting they "dont know" what happened to her so they kinda went that route of its up to the viewer wich I really disliked. If they killed her off for good, or just made it super obvious and showed her "walking away" on that zepelin at the end, both options were good choices but they went with neither lmao.

Oh, I definitely agree on all fronts. They're taking the criticism well, which is fantastic to see. At the end of the day, it is still by far the best video game adaptation. They tried to do something massively ambitious and were even questioned by Hollywood for their budgeting but still pulled off exactly what they wanted.
Totally agree with the ending. I was so bumbed when they did what they did with Jinx. I was so proud of riot for being open to progressing lore and letting people die. But it really did feel to me like they just wanted to kill jinx because she presented a problem for pullover that they didn't have time to resolve in 2 seasons. Also, I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. I don't normally make these types of videos, and felt bad that I had so many criticisms. Didn't want people to think I just hated the show because it was quite the opposite.

Man I just cant get over how they did a whole Terminator thing with time travel, and that THAT was supposed to be the big reveal... like bruh...
I was initially convinced we were messing with pocket dimensions, a sophisticated conjuration, powerful and visionary magic. And so despite Act 2 feeling rushed, I had very high hopes for the finale.
Then, episode 7 hits... and they introduce both time travel and a multiverse in one fell swoop... man I hated that. As someone who doesnt play league, they didnt need to do all that extra stuff that exists in wider Runeterra lore, because now this amazing show has an asterisk.
Sure they didn't shit the bed like GoT, but to say it didn't leave a sour taste would be a lie.

@Bokmoh understandable take with episode 7. I loved it because I got to actually have echo screen time, and they did his lore justice imo. But the big thing that I loved about episode 7 is the fact that it made me care. There was a lot of drama in season 2 that, for some reason, just fell flat on me, and I'm not sure why. Caitlyn's arc reminded me of a poorly written fire emblem protag u fortunately. I'm excited for their future projects, though, and they're at least listening to the fan's reactions which is great to see. Praying for some demacia noxus action. Also, thanks for taking the time to watch me yap. I just felt I needed to, haha.

Ep 8 loses a lot of points from me because no way Vi would get freaky 5 mins after Jinx goes off ominously suggesting "breaking the cycle".
Vi was literally crying and punched the wall in desperation when she left

@loganshalloe5927 Yeah, I didn't like it either, but I loved everything Jayce brought to the table in the episode. It almost offset the most desperate sex scene plant of all time lmao

rating ep 8 an 8.5 caught me off guard ngl. The last 2 episodes were easily the worst episodes in the show due to rushing and execution of plot points and characters. Episodes 1 through 7, even if you want to say have weaker writing than season 1 id say they're in a simillar league, season 1 being a 10 and season 2 a 6.5 is a massive disconnect, especially considering ep 8 and 9 of this season didnt weight it down for you despite those episodes having the weakest writing in the season.
3 seasons would've been perfect, even another act could've solved a fair amount of the issues the finale had specifically. My biggest gripe was how they made jinx depressed and at her lowest in the entire show just to have her whole character arc going from depressed to wanting to run away, live and start anew and it was all offscreened. They left us off with ekko stopping her from comitting suicide for a moment and then we dont see her untlll her character is completely reformed, it was lazy asf imo and they might aswell not've killed isha for the purpose of making jinx depressed if they were just going to offscreen her development anyway.
I thought the music videos were fine, they didn't try to tell too much. The ones that actually told some plot like the strike team using gray to take down the remaining 2 chembarons, showing how martial law lead to the creation of the jinxters in zaun, and showing what vi has been doing for the past 3-6 months i thought was fine. The vi arc could've been a thing but the other 2 makes sense to why they were done like that. I thought they were saving time to make sure they finish the season strong but apparently not lol.
I feel like you could explain, justify, and understand character actions before the last 2 episodes. Even cait's betrayal you could atleast understand through her actions, dialgoue, body language, etc in eps 4 and 5. Characters changing over 3-6 month timeskip like jinx becoming sisterly with isha, vi living in a monotonous cycle of drinking, fighting, repeat, cait becoming a dictator and slowly losing faith in ambessa after not getting any progress on jinx the whole time. These changes made sense and happened over time atleast, in episods 8 and 9 characters are basically just plot devices.
With buildup and better execution, jinx faking her death to run away and start a new life and find herself on her own could've been so much more impactful but it just wasnt unfortunately. And yeah by act 3 warwick was a straightup plot device. I thought isha was genuinely a pretty good character and a highlight of s2, but act 3 her death was shown to be practically meaningless with no impact so she basicaally proved to be a plot device just to make jinx depressed lol, big shame.
As for best written characters, overall silco is probably the best written, jinx had potential to be no.1 but act 3 fumbled her chances at that unfortunately, still my favourite character in s2 though, ekko might be no.3 he jus doesn't get enough screentime, he carried act 3 but he didn't get an epilogue of any sort.
Season/Episode Ranking off the top of my head
    s1: 9.5/10 s2: 8.5/10 (including ep 8 and 9), 9/10 (not including ep 8 and 9).
    ep 1: 9/10 ep 1: 8/10
    ep 2: 8/10 ep 2: 8.5/10
    ep 3: 9.5/10 ep 3: 8.5/10
ep 4: 8.5/10 ep 4: 9/10 (love isha x jinx dynamic, sevika x jinx funny asf, i thought the jinxter 's embracing jinx walking by was really nice)
ep 5: 8.5/10 ep 5: 9/10 (vander's letter -> vander flashback -> family hug is prob my favourite sequence of scenes in the show)
ep 6: 9/10 ep 6: 10/10 (remember me sequence, viktor + singed great dialogue, isha sacrifice albeit meaningless bc of act 3)
ep 7: 9/10 ep 7: 9.5/10 (great episode wished it was longer, wanted to stay in the ep forever so its kind of bittersweet)
ep 8: 8.5/10 ep 8: 6/10 (anything that wasn't jinx depression/silco monologue i didn't enjoy at all, i liked the viktor scene with the music tho)
ep 9: 10/10 ep 9: 7/10 (i liked viktor being the mage, i liked maddie being a traitor, the execution of most things this ep was poor, rushed, etc though. Most things didn't feel earned, cheap jinx " death ", viktor flopping straight away, no epilogue whatsoever, jinx showing up as a brand new character after her offscreen development, i liked a lot of the ambessa stuff, specifically her walking up with the chanting music . Jinx showing up with ekko could've been so much more impactful if they showed us her development, still one of the coolest shots in the show though, ifykyk.)

Ayyy cool thanks for the interesting takes. I agree with a pretty decent amount of it. I guess the biggest reason that season 2 has such a large gap is the fact that it reminded me of when I play a 10/10 JRPG and then the next installment turns into one of the worst games I've ever played. Obviously the gap wasn't that big with Arcane but I think the writing did a bit. Most of it really was the pacing for me but some of it was cop outs and a lot of offscreen assumptions and things happening. Episode 8 I liked a fair bit, although I forgot about the sex scene, usually those scenes are things that I like more off screen (to each their own though). But I liked that they finally found where Jayce belonged in the second act. I loved his conversation with Mel, his speech ect. And, like I said in the video, I thought the moment with Silco was really solid but they kind of just decided to use it to make her try to commit sewer slide lmfao. The reason the music videos (for the most part) drove me crazy is because a few of them were for things that just didn't even matter after an episode. The enforcer music video, and especially paint the town blue. The Vi pit fighting music video was fine because they used it to quickly sum up things. Would have been impossible to do it otherwise and not have it be extra bland. The funeral was another one I thought was totally fine. It was just the fact that there were so many of them as well that kind of made me just over it by the end if that makes sense. I'm a much bigger fan of when they use musical pieces to blend with the scene, like Jinx/Echo dancing and fight scenes of course. Overall enjoyed the second season quite a bit and am enjoying it more on the second watch but I just can't help but feel they dropped pretty much every character, except Jayce and Echo by the end of it, off a cliff. Appreciate you watching a ton though and thank you for the thoughtful take!
