- The impending space problem is arriving! Omg my cactus friends! What am I going to do? Ultimately, my plan is to hoard these seedlings for as long as possible and then decide what to do. Basically, my plan is to have a plan for later lol.
So here we are at 5 months! Let's see what happens by the time the 6 month video update comes around...

DISCLAIMER: I am a beginner grower. I have yet to find a growing process that works consistently for me, so it's a constant learning experience. This video series is more of a vlog on this leg of my cactus growing journey. With that said, enjoy!

The bigger ones should go outside soon
Do you think they'd be able to take the summer heat in Phoenix? They're going outside regardless, it's the only way to find out.
Thanks for the update! I'm always looking forward to these. You know Jenny I would be more than happy to take care of some of those var. Magnifica for you lol 😃 they really are very nice looking cactus!
Thank you for offering to help with my space problems, Darrin 😁 Eventually I'll need to find forever homes for some of these plants... I'll probably use Instagram to announce when the time comes.
I'm so glad you enjoy these seedling update videos! I was just thinking the other day how cool it is that all of you around the world are watching these seedlings grow up with me. It's mind boggling!
Makes me so happy when there is a seedling update 😊, i just realized today I have one copiapoa germination, 1/5 ... he is so cute, its an Hazeltoniai. I should buy more. Thx for your vidéos!
Congratulations on your Haseltoniana seedling, David! Wooohooooo! I'm so glad you enjoy these seedlings updates. I know these videos aren't as popular but it's good to know folks enjoy seeing the seedlings grow up with me ☺️
Thank you for your update they are looking great you make great videos well done
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave comments on many of my videos, William! It really helps my channel, so I really appreciate it 💚
And now you're facing the curse of all cacti growers/collectors - lack of space. 😃
Could you please tell me what is the distance between LED (I assume it's SF 1000) light and the seedlings?
Best regards,
Nino
Lol! I guess it's a good headache to have?? Yes it is the SF1000 without the dimmer. The lights are roughly 18-20 inches from the plants. I need to check for sure. Less than 2 feet (I think)
Every time I see your sowing update video, I am super happy. Seeing a lot of seedlings with gradual skin color in the video is really refreshing!
It is so cool that you are watching these seedlings grow up along with me! I never thought there would be other people around the world enjoying this process, the wonders of UA-cam and social media. I'm so glad you enjoy these seedling update videos, Hsuan!
lol I know this feeling, I have 1000+ seedlings and no room to put them when they get bigger! Hopefully I'll get a bigger house by then haha
LOLOLOL I love that we grow just for the sake of growing. No plans, don't think too much, just grow. Are you growing them indoors or outdoors or both?
@@cookiescacti Indoors, under 2 SF1000's. I've got about 200 lophophora from different Mexican states, 250 variegated Gymno's from Thailand and about 600 Astros :) Oh actually I've also got 50 Trichocereus outside in my garden lol....and about 150 Haworthia/Gasteria on my windowsills! I'd grow more outside but it's too cold at the moment here in England :)
Dannnnnngggggg! That's amazing!! You will be out of space for sure! Enjoy the challenge LOLOLOL
It’s amazing how your seedlings are so healthy.. I always kill most of them.. 0-5 survivals vs. 30 seeds… your videos gives me hope some day my seedling will be healthy enough to flower.
I swear only Copiapoa seedlings grow like this for me. For other plant genus (like the Turbinicarpus in this video) I just can't keep the darn things alive! So I totally know what you mean. Keep trying. Find that genus that does well with you and keep growing! I hope your seedlings get to flowering age too! I'm confident it will happen!
You could do a plant giveaway to your subscribers!!
I've been thinking about how to manage this. I wish UA-cam had a DM system. Hmmmm maybe with Instagram.... Let me ruminate
Every time I watch a seedling update video, it makes me want to attempt to grow some Copiapoa from seed. However, if you need some more space I'd be happy to buy one or some when they're ready haha
I hope you do try growing Copiapoa from seed, Heather! What species would you be interested in growing? That impending space issue is coming up...
@cookiescacti I'm thinking I will since I actually have the space now to do it. I really like the lembckei var. magnifica, so I'll probably start with those!
Yesss! Did you get your hands on some of the var magnifica seeds? It's been a lot harder getting Copiapoa seeds from Mesa Garden recently.
@cookiescacti no, unfortunately I didn't. I looked but they were out of stock with those as well as a bunch of others. To make matters worse I accidentally left my copiapoa humillis cluster out in full sun when we had a heat wave in the high 90's for about a week. The two mommas are scorched but I think some of the babies will be ok. I got a little teary-eyed when I saw it 🥺. It's living in my plant room now. Such a huge fail haha
I’d like to adopt some of your seedlings ! 😊
Please do let me know as I’m serious collector and would like to buy some of your collection thanks
Where are you located Daiz? Are you on Instagram? If you are, follow me there. I may do some limited seedling pack releases on Instagram at some point which I'll announce there. Also then I'll have a way to reach out to you individually - I really wish UA-cam had a DM system
@@cookiescacti I’m located in the country Malaysia . Do you where that is?
Oh shoot, I'm unable to handle international shipping for plants, unfortunately. Actually, I've never even shipped a plant domestically!
@@cookiescacti it shouldn’t be that difficult to send overseas , it’s similar to domestic. Once you have shipped domestically then it should be easy
2k got here fast we did not evin get to see the 1k milestone plants grow update yet
Ohhhh thank you for the video idea, Anders! Video ideas are invaluable! Especially the ideas that are not too difficult to make happen.
Do you sell them? They are beautiful. Onward to your next episode.
I’m in AZ south of Maricopa can I purchase from you?
