Mr Anton... I love what you do here on UA-cam. You are the BEST content creator about live vocal microphones. Thank you for all that. Cheers from Brazil!
Stage ribbon, there is the AEA KU5A. The EQ curve is very special and didn't fit my voice but it might work on others Also, if you can get your hands on a MBHO MBD219sc this is a phenomenal dynamic mic. Huge bass. Smooth and natural mids. Extended but natural highs. Only caveat it has lots of handling noise Lastly, condensers I had a great time with the Audio-Technica AE5400 before getting the SR40v. It had a beautiful scooped tone, a bit like a U47. Round and smooth, but I favored the SR40v which gives a stronger and more detailed vocal representation
I make my living as a sound engineer, and the “right” way, or the way we do it, is to keep the mic clip attached to the mic always. When you want to screw it on to a stand, release the thumb screw and turn the pole and not the mic, to screw the pole into the clip.
@@AntonBrowne oh yes! We really don’t care much for having to Lens her one of our clips. Worst case, she doesn’t bring it back herself, and it’s nowhere to be found.
Take a look into the dynamics entry (pro stage) levels. Blue microphones, mytek, rode, lewitt, SE electronics and just a few more "studio" brands for live. Very interesting mics without shooting the wallet. As always, thanks for sharing this videos. 😎😎✨✨🎶🎶
I recently had a RCA BK5 restored by Clarence Kane who worked for RCA back in the day. I was blown away when I heard how good it could sound. I was struggling with it sounded better than all the other mics I owned. I find it warm and detailed without being harsh at all... a perfect combo
Anton, unfortunatly the Beyerdynamic V90 Ribbon is no longer on sale. I bought my in 2019 here in Germany . I think they will not offer it again with active electronics . Ribbon mics are obsolet for the modern stage singers. The Earthworks 40V on the mic stand does sound phantastic for me - through headphones and your voice on it.
All good points 🎉
Love to hear a Cloud 44-A Ribbon. Think of the Browne boom on the full range setting!

I appreciate your method but what about the singer that brings their own mic?

Thanks for the info.
What are those cables you use that have that sort of on-off switch? Seems very useful and handy to have in a compact form.
They are useful. Neutrik XLR 3 Pin Female with Switch NC3FXS.
@@AntonBrowne Thanks👍
