Kevin’s backstory is one of the biggest clusterfucks in Ben 10
if you simply pretend that a certain someone later on is just lying to mess with them, it becomes a little cleaner, at least that's what I do

Season 2 of UA is kinda boring but season 3 is a lot better and the most important reason , Omniverse is rhe next one.

FUN STORY/MEMORY:
Back When I didn't knew Ragnarok was a term from Norse mythology, 10 years ago in 2014, when I was around 12 or something, Marvel Studios announced Thor: Ragnarok. And I straight up thought, Wait a minute, Why the 3rd Thor movie is titled after a minor one-off Ben 10 villain.
I really hope Ben 10 ultimate alien wins poll after xmen97 cause you guys will miss lot of good stories in Ultimate Alien
Doubt it. I think Spectacular Spider-Man and Hazbin Hotel are far more likely to get picked than Ultimate Alien.

Yeah like, in this episode Max seems to feel so much guilt over what happened to Devin, yet in classic he either doesn't recognize Kevin as Devin's son or he does and sends him (an 11 yo kid) to the Null-Void in the blink of an eye anyway. Some friend he is... Then again, he doesn't seems to feel much guilt about sending Phil to the Null-Void either (at least until Omniverse)... I think Max has a problem...

idk if I'm remembering wrong, but i think og series kevin mentioned smtg about living on streets n stuff. which is why this retcon always baffles me. like he was a MENACE then and he's usually up to scheming now. doesn't really give off that civilized air but then has a proper suburban home all this time ?????? dsnt his mom question where he is all the time????? literally going off into space?????
He destroyed his house as a kid. This and the fact that his powers make him crazy made him believe that his mother and stepfather didn't want him anymore and he left and lived on the streets

This episode makes it so that Max knew Kevin's father... so why wouldn't Max try to help Kevin in the OG series? This "backstory" is kinda lame tbh.
Well it's a bunch of retcons. Kevin in the OG series was explicitly a mutant who said he was abandoned by his family for being a freak. Now he appearntly has a good relationship with his mom and a dead dad.
Bro saw his partner's son as a troubled kid in the og series and said "fuck that kid" lmfaooo.

@@Envyus1Kevin was not a mutant in the original series, the only thing we knew about his powers was that he was born with them. It's never mentioned that's he's a mutant.
@@probablyseth3565 It was intended for him to be a Mutant, like all the others we saw across the original series, hence why Omniverse retconned him back to being a Mutant.

The fact that so many fans talk about retcons and not this good episode is why I dislike modern viewers
Pretty sure why it had to be kept secret is because it was still likely during the days when the Plumbers were undercover as far as activity on Earth was concerned.

Now see, THAT ability Diamondhead showed should have been what he had this whole time if the idea was this version of Diamondhead was "fused" with Chromastone. But because of how they changed the lore, it's just dumb. Also realistically he shouldn't have the Chromastone-like rock design at this point, but again, Space Rock Jesus lore change.
Osmosian is new canon up at this point. It's technically not a retcon because Kevin's origins were never really stated or established, just vague "absorption powers." You'll hear notes of him as being "Mutant" but that was only ever because of a single piece toy merch (at least as the only physical evidence) and there was seemingly no intention of making him a mutant from the writers of the Classic series.

This is 2nd Ben 10 episode when Ben doesn't use his AF 10 The First was Benwolf when Ben didn't use his OG 10 in the original series.
Max an active plumber about a decade ago even tho he retired in his late 20s after defeating Vilgax.

I'll give you a spoiler, the whole father thing is actually a fake memory given to everyone who is close to Kevin by another ex-plumber. So, the truth is that isn't Kevin's actual dad if I remembered correctly. Also, this won't be revealed until omniverse.
