Epic
Likely the best Modular since The Diner 👍🏼
I would suggest the book store, its amazing
Are you portugues?
It's not!
Beautiful Building. Would have loved to see what the Hotel looks like when connected with 2 other modular Buildings.
Noted! Unfortunately I like I mentioned, not the biggest modular buildings fan, so even though I do have a few, they're not built :P
@@TiagoCatarino I can hear Kirk Christiansen crying;)
I will be doing a modular building video of them being connected very soon as my hotel arrives.
@@TiagoCatarino Why aren't you a fan of the modular buildings?
@@essp2162 I do not see the video on your channel… z
6:55 and that's exactly why I'm always afraid of getting the first one xd This set is amazing, you should build a minifig scale Citroen 2CV to go with it.
Ahahah :P Yeah, I know some of your weird habits, so be careful :P
so YOU are gonna make a citroen 2CV hachiroku? If yes then i'm looking foward to that
Exactly that! As much as I'd like to have the Parisian Restaurant and can't forgive myself not getting the Brick Bank, I fear - if I started - these two wouldn't be the end of it.
I've gotten into the modulars and just set myself a limit of buying the new one every year, as my only big Lego purchase yearly. No going back to older modulars or getting those that are still on the market right now. You could always set yourself a limit like that, I think it's absolutely worth it, to get a modular once a year. Great sets, slowly building my ztreet
Speaking as someone who has spent a bunch of money on Modulars so much so I own every one except the first 2, yep it's highly addicting
I personally felt like Corner Garage and Bookshop were low points for the modular theme. But with the Police Station, and now this beautiful hotel, it feels like they've returned to their signature style. I particularly love the colors used here, especially the "light flesh" peach color. I also appreciate how this modular has some empty space. Will give a layout some breathing room when connected to other buildings.
Just like Corner Garage, seeing how the designer attached bricks at an angle for the shape of the building is incredibly interesting and fun to see.
The main reason why I love the corner garage. People generally dislike it, but I think the angled build technique is both fun to do and way more interesting to look at
Hey Tiago! Please, please do a “Modular Building Ranking” video.
I’m sure a lot of us, myself included, would love to get your thoughts on your favorites, especially with the inside-scoop perspective you have with other designers and the review process for this line.
Also - did you ever have a desire to design a Modular Building? If so, what would you have liked to create?
You know what, I'm not only fan of Lego but also your fan. I can feel how honestly you reviewing every Lego set from the former Lego staff eyes... Obrigado
Thanks! When LEGO sends me The LEGO sets they never ask for a nice review. I ALWAYS say what I feel
@@TiagoCatarino Did you recently stop with the new elements showcase section in your videos? I quitte liked those, as they gave me a more detailed look into the new elements :)
Agreed. He can do a video review on toilet water tasting and I will watch it. His execution is straight to the point but still detailed and well presented.
@@TiagoCatarino Do you get these Lego sets early because you are a part of LAN or because you used to work at Lego?
@@TiagoCatarino Can you build a mini version of this modular building?
The best looking still been the Assembly Square considering the tons of references (assembly techniques from other modulars) plus still the absolute biggest modular from all time and tons of details inside... Still this new Hotel could be in a top 5
The script for this is very well written especially for someone who’s first language wasn’t English. Bravo 👏
I am a technic guy as you know, but the modular buildings are just too good to not build them... this one is still missing in my collection. I am struggeling to chose between this one and the Diner (found one for 320 new). What do you think?
It came out last year so you have time to buy it. The dinner is retired though? So I would try and get that as soon as possible. Prices usually increase with these releases
@@TiagoCatarino thanks :)
This is amazing!
But I think there should have been some kind of breakfast room in the lobby
Indeed!
1:09 How dare you insult the Downtown Diner, it was a beautiful Retro set
But does it have wifi?
I Hope So
crazy that they were actually referencing the next modular with the jazz hall sticker, i think thats the best modular easter egg we've gotten so far
It was a reference to the assembly square not the jazz club set
I’ve never been into modulars/City, but I saw this set at Walmart when I checked the LEGO section and instantly fell in love with it. You’re too right about that end bit, now I have my eyes on the diner, Parisian restaurant, and detective office😂
I agree with your points about this set not overdoing the detail!
The lobby of the hotel does seem to be quite empty, especially underneath the stairs! Perhaps with the luggage trolley and the coffee cart (modified to be a refreshements bar) inside, it'll look much more decorated. But the top two floors were done perfectly, so props to lego for that!
Not too sure how I feel about the mini art gallery though. I like the clever techniques used for the art pieces. But I would have rather had more space for the hotel or the outdoor dining area.
Personally, I love the set, it looks good from the outside AND the inside. But I don't get the feeling that this is a '15th anniversary set'. Maybe I was hoping for a much larger set like the Assembly Square which was 32x48 studs. Still, I haven't bought a modular in a while and the Hotel is definetely a stand-out from the past modulars so I'll definetely be getting it. Thanks again for the review, Tiago!
I love your channel and I hope you will reach 1 million subs at the end of 2022
Ahah who knows?!
600k off ):
That dumpster connection point is so genius
Feel positive to the set at first glance, and love it even more after enjoying your professional review and its cozy tone. I have been gone deep into this modular building pool since the Palace Cinema in 2013. Just like you said at the end of the video, really cannot stop myself from adding each set into my collection!
And just some personal thoughts... The set would be more complete if the designer can add a small cafe area + a nostalgic chandelier/jukebox in the main lobby. I would be happier if a bit more metallic gold bricks are included to make the hotel even more classy.
I think there should be a bathroom in the main lobby, as a sort of explanation for the two rooms in the second floor not having one. I might build my own
Wow! What a beautiful building. They have come a long way. Amazing detail. I really want to see how they filled out the floors since there is so many angles and shapes. Amazing job Lego!!
I have been waiting modular like this for so long. This is a must buy model. The building design and fashion mind worth more than the price.
Anyone else think the poster for the sax player could be foreshadowing for the jazz club?
This gives me an Italian cafe vibe! You can’t deny it. The flowers, and the whole style. It’s perfection! Mama Mia!
Wow! This looks like a really good set
It is!
Will 100% add this too my city
The print on the barista minifig is actually from the Chinese New Year theme, specifically the “Story of Nian” set (it goes on the grandfather.)
This looks sooo good Tiago!!!!!!!
It does!!!
This set definitely made sand green my favorite lego color, its so pretty here!
I'm very excited to buy this modular, as I plan to add a public bathroom to the ground floor. I'm very confident that will fill the space perfectly, and not leave such an empty feeling inside.
199, for a 3100 piece set seems extremely reasonable. Besides the Home Alone set, I think this will be the first Modular I buy straight from Lego!
Wow. I had no idea it was real!
Just bought this as my first Modular Building. I'm both excited about finally building something this large-scale and detailed and absolutely terrified for my wallet with the prospect of buying more of them. Daily Bugle first, then more modular buildings lol.
I like that with the art shop and terrace they delivered a modular that can connect to the Police station modular without weirdly blocking the small side build and billboard on it. This will replace the Chinese New Years set I have there now.
love your videos man Inspirational
I appreciate that! Thanks!
@@TiagoCatarino its just my dream to work at lego (tho you leaving lego probably wasnt dumb for your situation) its really interesting to see your perspective on lego sets
btw i would love for you to review lego hoggwarts moments
Short and sweet. Thanks for the review :)
When LEGO makes a better hotel than Disney
You really do excellent review and reveal videos! I’m looking forward to 1/1 for several Lego releases, this one goes straight to the top of the list!
Thank you!
This set has barely been unveiled and you already have a review on it. That’s why I love your channel Tiago!
Thanks! Gotta thank LEGO for sending some early copy reviews :)
An asolutely stunning set; the best modular building so far, in my opinion!
Very TRUE on the modular building collection. I BRICKLINK ALL the retired modulars. My wife loves them. We have a small city all over our house 😉
I've always liked Hotels, so I think this pretty model is the best modular building since the Diner, though that still takes the (pan)cake in my opinion.
Great review dude, you get straight to the point, cover everything (plus your voice is just nice to listen to ngl).
Watching this while I put together the gingerbread house. My first build of yours I think and we are loving it!
First time I'm seeing this
Brilliant as always
1:40 : Great to have a *Mondrian's artwork*
when you know first Lego bricks' colours sere _inspired_ by his paintings 😊
Thank you for the early review of this awesome set. This is a day one purchase for me for sure. You do the BEST Lego set reviews!
I NEED 2 or 3 (or 100) of this.
I’m so excited to add this to my collection when it comes out!
That is a such a nice design (there is a cool parts) and I will buy the set
Glad you like it!
the reviewing is very nice
I appreciate that thanks!
Can’t wait to get this great review😀😀
I own all modulars and I agree with you : this 2022 Set is one of my favorites.. Nice review.
Oh gorgeous. Love the use of parts . Snakes on a railing lol
amazing!
You are!
I’ve made it, ok like 2-3 days of on and off building. It looks really good and his the first modular building I’ve bought. Can’t wait to get more!
1:18 they probably heard about cubism, the art movement, and made the funny name into a fine art shop/gallery in lego, that's some advanced humor in a lego building lol
This is way better than I had even hoped for!
It gives me some Cuban vibes, now I want to build an entire layout in that style :)
Although, it might fit in my Parisian city, next to the park maybe?
My favorite lego modular building was the corner garage, for the tools and the vintage fuel pump. I hope you will do a video on the highlighted builds of this set.
I agree with many, the building techniques on this set are awesome and the beautiful. Reminds me of Key West
Fantastic Review Tiago !!
This is a very good set. I hope these lego reviews continue.
That's the plan! Thank you!
What a wonderful Set! I can’t wait to get it in January! Thank you for this Video!
Don’t speak bad about my diner set, That is the only modular set I bought because I love the look of those dinners from that era. And it had Elvis recording studio and boxing was a big thing in that time.
Agreed the diner is nice. Surprised he shit on that as an eyesore then praised this color scheme. I like this but it looks like a tough fit. At least the corner garage is sturdy from both sides imho.
This might just be my first modular. It reminds of the blacksmith ideas set with a perfect balance of colors and diverse esthetics in the build.
i thinking about this or assembly square cant decide....
This is gonna be my first modular for my 13th birthday, really exited
I love this! What a stunning build! I'm obsessed with these modulars.
I got Parisian restaurant back in 2017, then an almost 5-year gap before getting Bookshop, Police Station, and Assembly Square! Love them so much! I missed out on downtown diner, though, which ... waaah! That was actually one of my favorites! I plan on snapping this up before too long!
@Fern Forever Same dude, I only got into the modular line in 2018 and the Diner is still my favourite modular. The Hotel looks so stunning though, will have to get that eventually
This is the best i ever seen
I love your instant ( I think so ) reviews
I appreciate that! Gotta thank LEGO for sending me early copies!
Fantastic addition to the series - Great review
Glad you think so!
Looks amazing!
Awesome review, I look forward to this set. Thank you!
The Diner is one of the most beautiful buildings!
That was a very fair warning at the end of the video
Yes! For those who don't listen: "I told you so!"
Thanks for the awesome review as always!
2:37 “4 keys at the back, though the place only has 3 rooms to rent” XD
This is the first modular in years I'm considering buying
Careful....
This set is amazing. Thanks for making interesting videos!
Like it… Like it… Like it… 🤩
😁
@@TiagoCatarino take my money 😂
Awesome review, thanks a lot !
What surprises me is that the new flesh color is the same as flesh minifigure head. FINALLY THEY DID IT!!
Simply beautiful
Hi Tiago beautiful review
Hey, thank you! Love the support!
It looks awesome......I cannot wait!!!!!!!!! 👍😀👍
These are AWESOME sets that I would love to collect but they are always in the 100s and so it’s not very affordable, especially when you want to get more than one to create small street.
I could also definitely see Lego using this modular technique and attention to detail in other areas and themes!
I really like the modular series and it is the only serie that I have all sets from. The problem with the newest modulars is that they are to finished and too good designed. That is why the cafe corner is still my favorite. During the years I collected 8 middle floors and gave them all a different inner design and modified the panel windows slightly. So every floor is a tiny bit different and build in two mirroring bottom and top floors make it easy my favorite. Non the less I still like to build the new buildings as well.
The final figure literally looks like my art teacher
I bought 77 of this set. This set is nice and makes an enormous hotel! The art studio, I changed it into a bus station. New bus matches it. Bus arrives in August.
I really want this lego set.
My only complaint is that it did not include an elevator
No room! Unless you took out the stairs! Otherwise not even the master suite would have bathroom ahah :P
I recently finished this set and I have already ordered a lightkit to light it up,btw I will be building a jazz club on September 11(I will be 22 years old that day,in other words I bought it for my birthday)
It’s Tiago catarintiko
Thanks for the review Tiago. As a modular collector myself I will surely buy this. I really like the design, but don’t know if it’s the best of the collection. I do think it will be a challenge when it comes to placement it to the previous modulars (due to angle and color scheme)..
A great review Tiago. Definitely a set I'll pick up. I'd love to expand it with a second set.
Great review as always, very much enjoy your balanced opinion especially with a set as hyped as this. Thank you!
Much appreciated! Not the biggest fan of modular buildings like I said, but this is a very neat LEGO set!
@@TiagoCatarino But that is a really nice perspective to come at this set with. I am personally a huge fan of the Modulars, though I have my preferences, so knew I was likely going to love it. But for somebody that would not normally buy them to recommend it is great to hear. Can't wait to build it myself and add it to the city :D
Booom - that hit me quite unexpected !! Well done Tiago 👍👍 Love that copper roof and the shape going against the grid. It was a bit hard to see but the gap where the hinges are (right behind and above the art gallery) looked a bit weird though (0:49). Anyway - the overall appearance is just gorgeous and pretty much all the black decor elements are equally clever and beautiful (that whip !!)
Looks fantastic.
I definitely wanna pick this up next year:)
definitely gives off vibes of Cafe Corner and Market Street. But still not a modular collector (I mean I was 11 and my family was poor when CC came out) and I'd get the palace cinema and diner and many others first.
I LOVE IT! So excited to get this one. Thank you for your awesome video(s)!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this great reviw Tiago
1:36 The art print is reference to Galidor - Nick (McDonald's Happy Meal toy version - set 4040) XD
I think there is beside the railing, a bathroom in the groundfloor for the 2 rooms on the first and a door to the dumpster, because next to other buildings it will be in a yard in between
I wish it had another side build or made El Cubo bigger. Either way, I'm glad I got this
