With the Brachiosaurus, I actually quite like the look of the grey clips. In the real world when they put up dinosaur bones they need something to connect them, as bones mostly don't fully connect, making the grey clips accurate.
Glad someone else pointed it! Yes, the gray pieces are plaster pieces meant to mimic the cartilage that would most likely be there holding the bones together. The same technique is used with incomplete skeletons with missing or broken parts.
Same applies to that T Rex Skeleton from the 76940 T Rex Fossil Dinosaur Exhibition, although it's very minimal (Yes I know the name is lengthy and way too specific)
Something I like about this set is that it is one building rather than a large building with smaller ones on the sides like the police station or the boutique hotel
I actually like the smaller buildings like on the jazz club and police station. They add some extra depth to the lineup of buildings (although i do still enjoy having this one be just one building)
100% agree! As a kid I grew up in my local natural history museum, and I'm so incredibly excited for this set. Paleontology and Anthropology have been life-long passions of mine too.
1. I absolutely love this set. 2. I love the colour scheme of the building. 3. I find the colours of the tree and banners to clash with the building and I wonder if this is part of the reason why people are divided on the colour scheme. 4. Thank you SO much for showing it on it's own without any of the mini figures, banners or tree blocking it - it shows how stunning the building is and I think I have to buy it now!!
No, for me the colour of the tree and banners has little to do with why I don't like the olive green in the building. If anything, the white of the pillars clashes more with the green. The olive green in the haunted mansion set worked as it was pushed back by the black and grey, as well as fitting into a Halloween/haunted theme. Here the colour is too much and too grim.
this was my very first modular and by far the biggest Lego set I've ever gotten and I could not be happier! I loved science and Lego growing up, and this set brought back so many good memories from the natural history museum in DC, which I loved when I lived in Virginia. I loved all the detailed exhibits and appreciated all the little explanations in the instructions! it felt like exploring a real museum with simplified plaques. 10/10!
Haven't bought a lego set in decades (growing older, no space, budget, etc.), but I watch every video Tiago puts out. Love his passion and the high production value of the videos. I feel all the fun as if I have the sets in front of me.
I think the grey hinges for the brachiosaur, with the apparent black stand, is a good detail addition. Makes it credible as in real life exhibitions, where joints are reinforced with steel, and a stand poses the skeleton.
I didn’t even know a prosthetic leg element existed! I’m a wheelchair user and professional adaptive athlete who pushes for diversity in everything I do, and having LEGO one of my favorite brands make something g like that really makes me happy :)
Lego has lots of diverse minifig elements these days. It's awesome. They have the prosthetic, a head with a hearing aid, wheelchair minifigs, and even a minifig with vitigilo
10:21 that little spin showed the depth of the building better than I've seen from any pictures so far. I like when these buildings aren't just mostly flat on the front, but have depth, parts that jut in and parts that stick out
Great review! I love how you actually showed your suggestions for modifications and how you showed the building technique for the stairs and fence--very helpful. I also appreciated seeing the curved roof windows as separate elements as I am not familiar with that piece. This looks like a fabulous modular building.
I really wish I had $300 to spare for this set. It's beautiful, my girlfriend and I are really into museums, and it looks like it would be fun to just mess with on a day to day basis.
I absolutely love this building, my favorite currently is the jazz club because of its fantastic colors and pleasant design, but for a museum I think this is nearly flawless! I feel like a tan or grey color choice would be way to boring so I think the still neutral olive works great, but I can’t wait to pick this one up
this reminds me SO MUCH of the field museum in chicago (which is also a natural history museum) both have a brachiosaurus skeleton the field museum having one of the most famous and most complete skeletons. the field museum also has a geology exhibit and has a similar structure to the set! if your ever in chicago i highly recommend going there
I just pre ordered mine! I can’t wait. And I just received the Home Alone set a few days ago, it’s amazing! Thank you for all of your reviews and content!
Love the fence technique with the arrows, thats very nice! Also I think the olive green works, Lego Modulars are meant to pop on display and look good on a shelf, grey is realistic, but i get the compromise
Nice review! I'm seriously considering this one as a gift to myself. Looking forward to someone integrating the Galileo Galilei set into the museum diorama. Maybe even combining it with the Jane Goodall set.
I love the reference to adventures theme, it maches the haunted house, and it is realy nice. I allways love that theme and after these sets were released i was thinking of incorporating the figures in city theme. Pitty is that the museum does not show one item reminding the adventures theme.

I really thought this would be an "anniversary" thing that we wouldn't see until 2027, so it's a nice surprise. I am curious as to why LEGO is releasing it a month early, effectively giving us two modulars in one year? Maybe this is a new thing, so we have modulars available in time for the holiday season?
It comes down to money I think :) There's no sense in having January releases be it modulars or any kinds of LEGO products IMO. But I guess LEGO needs to get rid of old inventory to make space for the new stuff
@@TiagoCatarinodo you think Lego will ever start releasing multiple modular buildings in a year? With all the Bricklink Modular’s I think there’s a demand there.
Nit picks - I would also have liked to see the dark tan Brick work represented with the Bullion pieces. I love the way the classic set references match the "history" of the world the museum is set into!
Great review! Amazing video and context when comparing with other sets. Realy thank you for decoding all the hidden references from the designer interview. AWSOME WORK
OMG the scratches on the glass door! I like the references to previous sets, that's nice. Also the Galileo set is NOT free -- it's a gift with purchase which means it is INCLUDED in the price of the set. If it were free you can just get it without paying a dime but you get it WITH paying for another set. Don't kid yourself.
I wish it was either all tan or dark tan or hell a combination of the two. The green colour makes no sense. Whenever people think of a natural history museum, most would associate that building being a beige colour. Here's hoping it'll be easy to colour swap since the building techniques that went into creating the museum itself remains very impressive imo.
I love everything about this set except the olive green, but I can get over that. I don't collect modulars; I only have one, the bookshop, but thinking about making this one or the boutique hotel the second. I like that you compared the two at the end.
I want to like this but really struggle to. It doesn't seem big too me even though it apparently is. The stairs are less substantial than the police station and feels more like a boutique museum than a landmark museum.
My main criticism when I first saw it is that it's just far too busy on the front. There's just too much clutter making the overall structure look less defined. I probably would not add the window cleaner and I would build the tree at half that height to avoid blocking the banner. Also, I know this wouldn't fit in line with the Modular theme, but I just really wanted the back of this thing to be open so you could directly play with it without taking the entire monstrosity apart. It just looks perfectly made to be played with in a dollhouse configuration, instead of a space-consuming construction project anytime you want to experience the interior.
Totally agree. I liked how it looked when Tiago removed all the extra busy work in the front, I think they overdid it a tad but at least you can remove it yourself for a cleaner look
Awesome review as always 🌟👑 Your comments about ways to make it better I approve 100% (windows, line between the floors..). I'm not interested in this modular at all (like other themes better) but I have to say that color bother me the most - white or yellow(ish) should suit it much better in my opinion. Design of the Brachiosaurus I dislike too. Rest is cool I guess..
Its a good set I agree, although I still they could have included more stuff in the museum. The Dinosaur skeleton is a nice touch, not so crazed about the stairs, real gap at top of second flight and the old Professor could trip there!
This looks and feels like actual LEGO for a change. There's actual care put into the details, the details tell their own stories, references to other sets, interesting building techniques, play features and it can be looked at from all sides?! Are you sure this isn't a MOC?
I’ve just begun to collect these and I bought the one boutique first then I’ll get the jazz next but I’ll be buying multiple of this one my favorite since I enjoy museums. I like the unique green look for me an amazing building for me. And your right I won’t stop And will collect all new ones that are coming out.
I'm planning on buying the Escape from the Lost Tomb set along with this, just so I can Include an Egypt exhibit, the Ark (instead of it being in a box in a warehouse someplace) and, of course, Indy himself. "That belongs in a museum!"
Pssst - the reason there are gray connector parts on the skeleton is because they are not part of the skeleton. They literally are connectors since thats how real skeletons at museums are held together.
I really want to make it bigger when I get it. Most of the other modulars don't lend themselves well to upsizing in my opinion, and most examples I've seen just look wrong.
Great review, now I am even more convinced my preorder was correct. Please keep your focused style, not criticizing every small bit. I also like your humour: the designer has never heard of Lego brick pieces... But then you come back with an appraisal for his work!
Awesome set I'm not sure about the color. I think the main color should have been light nougat with white and maybe other colors as accents Its awesome that it fills up the whole baseplate for the first time in a while IMO the dinosaur takes up too much space, I would probably replace it with something else That's the beauty of the set though, its perfect to customize.
A big dissapointing for me. I would look nicer in tan colour bricks and looks very basic compared to past modulars. I would rather get a Mould King, XMork modular than this one. Good thing it has a toilet as those are rare in the lego world. I think the only reason lego made it bigger for no special reason is to charge more for it!
The exhibits inside feel very exposed whereas in a lot of museums everythings either roped off or behind glass. As such it doesnt have the right vibe inside and feels incomplete. The exhibits, whilst i like them dont suit the theme at all. The fact a LEGO designer with access to a much larger array of parts print accessories than I ever would have has designed this set and created such poorly suited exhibits staggers me somewhat. I made my own years ago i had no struggle making appropriate displays with my limited inventory..❤
This is the big 18th Bday (now officially past on the 10th!) set, and I’d say this set is great already. I’m limiting myself to 2 bags a day, and my opinion on some aspects is this: I prefer the green coloration, it feels like something I’d come across as a random-ish building in New York City, though a brick red color would also fit well. The more plates I can plop figures out front on, the better. That’s the main issue I have with my two other Modular’s (Fire Brigade and Bookshop), they come with so many figures but no way to display them without toppling over unless you add some plates as modifications.
people who ask for fray modular buildings most be the most boring people in the planet. The green makes the whole building look so elegant and pretty. Definitely suits a "NATURAL history museum". This set is superb.
hi tiago just a heads up at timestamp 9:08 it looks to me as if you are missing a couple pieces of the boutique hotel on the top floor front roof next to the windows. but no problem keep up the hard work ♥
Maybe the color scheme would've worked better if the windows had been white as well, instead of tan. Or the other way around, with the whites being tan too.
I hear you, I’ve just finished my first modular and it’s going to be a slippery slope… already bought two more, done a MOC of my own apartment block, and looking for retired modulars. Poor bank account. Also flying to Billund tomorrow so that could get pricey…
I think Space wall display is meant to represent the Earth itself (blue water, white ice cap and green land- maybe the Americas? I admit my bias) with the spaceship swooping by as in the Classic Space logo
P.S - ja estou a espera do proximo episodio do podcast e inclusive dei uam sugestão !
My gosh, that's a beautiful modular! I love the exterior and the extras as well as the first floor exhibits and especially the skeleton extending to the second floor. However, the floor of the second floor without tiles but studs and the references to old lego themes, which I find useless as exhibits, are major design Flaws. I think there is especially one non-Lego set that has to be compared to this one, Xingbao's maritime museum (I build it). The latter is significantly less expensive while boosting a 20% higher piece count, a third floor, all tiled floors and a more detailed backside. Furthermore, I find the single exhibition theme better. While Xingbao's facade is incredibly detailed, it just feels like "too much" compared to the one of Lego's museum. The former boasts, however, a great ingenious door design.
I love this modular and will definitely get it myself one day. Might've been good to see how the Dino skeleton compared in size to the Dino skeletons Ideas set from a few years back, if you had it to hand. But, as always, Tiago, great review!
I feel like the last two modulars have really tiny windows at the front. I think this building would look a little better with double sized windows. Maybe it's the big posters on both sides as they catch more attention than necessary and make the windows look smaller than they actually are. It's a nice looking building overall but as you said at the end, it feels like a standalone set which I am not really sure I like

I agree! When I saw an exhibit of a real triceratops skeleton, they had these dark clips holding things in place.
Glad someone else pointed it! Yes, the gray pieces are plaster pieces meant to mimic the cartilage that would most likely be there holding the bones together. The same technique is used with incomplete skeletons with missing or broken parts.

Que linda essa construção!!!!!!!😊
This one is my favorite so far
The back of the building was practically not needed to be made with small bricks if have a back at all, just inflated the piece and price.
Please make a recap of all the modular building collection, your top 3, just to know where to start this new lego adiction. Ha!
I love this modular and will definitely get it myself one day. Might've been good to see how the Dino skeleton compared in size to the Dino skeletons Ideas set from a few years back, if you had it to hand. But, as always, Tiago, great review!
True. I just think of it as a baby dinosaur.
Is perfect!!! 🦕🖤😍🦕😍🖤🦕
I feel like the last two modulars have really tiny windows at the front. I think this building would look a little better with double sized windows. Maybe it's the big posters on both sides as they catch more attention than necessary and make the windows look smaller than they actually are. It's a nice looking building overall but as you said at the end, it feels like a standalone set which I am not really sure I like
Amazing set!
