Thanks for a brilliant way of making crab apple jelly. I I loved the hanging muslin from a kitchen unit and the clever idea of upturning setting jelly in the jars. No other tutorial came close. I made my firs batch today and it all went well, set and clear and tasty. Thanks!
We used one of those Genus fruit, veggie etc food choppers. It will cut into little pieces and u can do around 4 small crabs at a time. Saves u a lot of time.
I made this with crab apples that fell from a tree at my work parking lot and it turned out with a lovely bright red color! I used three layers of wet cheese cloth as I did not have muslin.

Do u have to or need to put the jelly into a hot bath to sterlize more??

temp must be 220F for a time till its a rolling boil.
my recipe called for mashing them to get most of the free fluid out ... thanks for sharing
You don't have to cut them up...
