Only 2:30 in and I’m not just learning how to powder fruit, I’m being shown a great way to relieve some of my pent up anger.☺️
I’ve got to tell you that you are an excellent teacher. You cover all the info simply, modeling what needs to be done, what can happen & ways to fix any problem, & then summarizing what you’ve taught. So thank you for having a channel like this which offers more than the usual.
I was about to say the same thing, but less eloquently 😊
Darcy…I removed the berries, put them individually in blender and chopped…cam out puréed but it’s fine. I used my frosting knife and spread the berries like I was frosting a cake and with a skewer I picked out the blueberries that didn’t mush up and ate them…LOL! Their dehydrating as I comment. That frosting knife was a game changer for me as the spatula wasn’t working for me. Once their all dried, I’ll grind up and have my powders. Thank you Darcy!!
Great!

What does this mean? I don’t want to do something wrong
I usually just freeze my fruit, but this will save so much room in the freezer and be delicious on yogurt.
Thank goodness I'm not the only one.
I've been making these fruit & veggies powders for years and I thought I was just weird.
My favorite is wild blackberry powder because I have millions of berries growing around me for free.
You guys are geniuses haha. I never thought of this even though I have a mini orchard lol
I live in the Philippines where bluberries don't grow BUT your channel is a treasure trove. I want to try your generous tips with the berries that grow in my region. Thanks a lot!
what were your results? What berries did you try?
Making powder is my favorite thing to do, & I learned from you in your group. I sprinkle my organic spinach powder on many dishes & use it in smoothies. My fruit powders are great in frostings, homemade whipped cream & smoothies. Thanks Darcy!
Sounds great!
When you say frostings, are you talking about what I would call icing? It's mostly spread on top of sweetbreads or cake, if you are that does sound pretty good. Thank you, bsafe.
Yes, sometimes I call it frosting, sometimes I call it icing.
L
Awesome.
Brilliant hack to crunch them up before dehydrating- didn't even THINK of that!
I have put my powders back into my dehydrator to condition the powder. I put it on a sheet, lay paper towel over that with a wooden spoon to keep it from blowing around. It worked like a charm for me. I have done sweet potatoes like this.
Love you and your methods. Whenever I do anything it looks like a crime scene when I'm done. And it takes a day to make the mess and a week to clean it up.
I am so blown away! I have a freezer full of blueberries that I picked/purchased at our local blueberry farm. However, they are taking up so much room in my freezer! So thrilled to find another way to preserve them.
Thanks so much. Great tips to assure a high quality dried product!
That was a very fully informative video. This was my first time visiting your site and am looking forward to seeing many more. Thank you for your time. It was much appreciated!
Invaluable practical talk. Thank you.

Well done. Smart. Professionally conceived and executed. Informative.
Thank you! I love this. I’m planing to make powder with the greens in my garden. Now I’m excited to try the fruit as well ❤
Very interesting video (as usual) I’ve not thought of dehydrating berries, thanks!
I was just thinking about trying to make fruit frostings for summer and here is your video with his i can do that! thank you :)
Thank you. I’m going to do this and make greens for my smoothie
I never thought about making powders... this is such a great idea!! Thanks for posting this!

I love that you're so real and don't care about stains Darcy 😁
Aah! I'm so happy UA-cam recommended me this! Thank you!

FC from Thailand; These are very useful tips; thanks for sharing.
This is brilliant. Thx! I puréed strawberries to do something similar but I never thought I drying it like this. Nice eating but it failed. Definitely time to try again.
You are a very good teacher!
I never thought of doing this thank you so much
I love your introduction star seed ♥️
Excellent video. Professionaly done with a lot of useful information. A real pleasure to watch and easy to follow. I am going to be spending all my spare time binging on your videos. Thank you
I use your power greens powder in smoothies for my picky family just about every day now! Thank you
Such a good idea
You are so welcome!
Love the pick method
Thank you Darcy. I dehydrated blueberries. Lucky for me that after watch your other videos I went back and checked the jar and for a blueberry drip 😢. Thank you soo much
This is cool! I was hoping to recreate Juice Plus supplement on my own - this video was very helpful!
I just found you and I must say, you are a wealth of knowledge! Thank you for sharing and teaching regular ways I can prepare and store food for my family, especially on a budget.
You are so welcome!
I am immediately looking on Amazon for dehydration machine. This is genius and so versatile
Great video! Very informative :) thank you!
You use your hands for things that I would immediately reach to a tool for, huge respect.
Maybe I just have moist hands as I’m really scared of touching the powder lol.
I'm getting into healthier cooking and this helps me to add my own ingredients from my garden to my pantry!
This is highly educational. Thank you
Dehydrated peak season strawberries for the first time...amazing!!!!
They are!
Love how you explain the process, very thorough
Glad it was helpful!
Very informative I’ve learned a new skill from your video 😉
Thanks so much, so many uses 💚👩🍳💭 Your tips are excellent.
I could watch your videos and learn from you for days at a time. You are such a phenomenal teacher, and so knowledgeable! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Wow, thank you!
Wow!! This channel is solid gold!! ❤❤❤
This is all new for me. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
You are so welcome
This video was so helpful. Thank you.
Thanks UA-cam for this recommendation. I tried to dry blueberries but I used hole berries that took forever to dry and the result was not good. I’m definitely going to try again with your recipe. Thanks
That is a very thoughtful husband.
And this is a very thorough video.
Since starting to watch your channel, I have begun dehydrating food and today ordered more mats for my dehydrator to do powders and finer things. And I am looking for my third dehydrator ☺️ Thank you for such clear instructions 😊
You are amazing! Absolutely amazing!!
I just discovered your channel by chance, I love everything I hear and see, watching from South Africa
I learned so much! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
seems this would be great to add to a tea mix
I'm so glad I found your channel, I'm learning so much. I'm just now trying to get into dehydrating, and although I can't afford one of the premium dehydrators, I feel pretty confident that I'll be able to learn to "work with what I can get. Thanks so much for all of the information you are sharing!!
You definitely don't need a premium dehydrator! Just be on the lookout for one with more than 400Watts if you can, and a temperature control.
Thanks for even more good advice! I found one at 600 watts, with both digital temp control and a timer. I figure this should be plenty good enough to get started with. My amazing hubs bought me a she shed for our anniversary that, while it's not huge, has a full kitchen in it. All we lack right now is getting the water hooked up, & I can get it cleaned, then up and running. I have so many amazing project ideas, and you've given me many more (I'm so excited). I sure appreciate you're sharing your knowledge and experience with us!
@@ThePurposefulPantry Can you use one that doesn’t have a temperature control?
I bought the cheapest dehydrator I capfuls find. It’s still working after 15+ years. Just get started, you don’t need top of the line machine
@@Imokanurnot It is interesting reading your response.
I live in the tropics. I grew up knowing that my grandmother sold dried coconut for a living.
There was a very large shed in the backyard. The shed had a retractable roof. Manually operated. You had to close the roof if it looked like rain was coming.
So I also learned to look to the sky and sense when it’s about to rain.
Amazing. The more things change the more they remain the same.
Enjoy your fruit and veggies drying project.
Wonderful methodology!
Thank you - super helpful!
Thank you I love this. I recently started powdering pumpkin purée for my pups and now I’m going to start with blueberries and raspberries ❤
Love this idea. Thank you
what do you do with the pumpkin powder?
My dog loves pumpkin or sweet potato chews.
The first time I dehydrated pumpkin puree I dehydrated it too long & it was like leather. I dropped one on the floor & my dog loved it.
@@NRice34102 thank you for this idea, I have been making home made dog treats and that sounds yummy.
Well now! I am absolutely ecstatic to try this. I haven't looked yet to see if there's a video on more uses, but could I tempt you into telling me a few more things you can use this for. I have some ideas, but I am curious to see what you use them in regularly. ✌️😍🤗❤️
The link in the description has a ton of uses for them
I've been looking for a purple powder to use as garnish and this is perfect. Thanks for sharing!
Thank u … love the presentation 😃
So nice of you
Great class!! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
This is so cool, I'm going to try this out!
I cannot wait to do This!!
New subscriber here. 😊 I'm just learning about dehydrating food. Thank you for the hard work you put into your videos! They are a huge help to me. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Amazing. Thanks for making this. I absolutely love it and never thought of making powders. I have 5 blueberry bushes netted giving me TONS of fresh blueberries. I also have 2 plum trees, wild raspberries. "Really wild'' haha. I have a 5 in 1 apple tree. 5 different apples from a dwarf tree. It's amazing. Can't wait for summer & so I can try this. Also, getting a peach & nectarine tree.
What a great idea!
Great sharing!
I'm going to do this to some of my extra fruit from my trees to try it out. 😊
Praise the LORD for creating fruit powders!
Thanks for this tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
i have learened so much from your videos thank you
You are very welcome
Thanks so much! Hugs and kisses from. Bulgaria
Kudos to all you drying enthusiasts. This is so labor intensive. I have a bumper crop of strawberry guava. The seeds are the size of grape seeds and hold more nutrition than the actual fruit. So I'm going to give this a try. My Ninja has a dehydrating function. So this is a test!
It is in the beginning, but the longer you do it, the more proficient you get, and it's not as labor intensive as you imagine. So much of the time is down time waiting for things to day. You can walk away from it unlike canning.
I bought my long dreamed of Red VitaMix a few years ago, it really pulverize’s the tiny seeds in strawberries and blackberries etc. when making powders.
You're awesome, so informative. Dehydrated for decades, fruit, veges, herb s & Kids fruit leathers. but this perfects it, & may explain last years 'Failure Jar" :(
I love that tool! I've only done blueberries once and vowed to never do them again! This changes my mind!
Great video thanks for the tips.
I had tiny wild tomatoes that are this size. I put them in a zip lock bag and crushed the with a rolling pen. Worked great to dehydrate them. I will try this with berries.
I love 💕 this idea
Thanks so much I just learned so much from you!🤔
Thanks. I am just getting started in doing power.
You'll have so much fun!!!! It's just so versatile in all the varieties - green, veg, fruit, etc!
wow im learning sooooooooooooooooo much stuff each time i click on - Melbourne Australia
You have taught me how to better save my berries!! Thank you 😊
Happy to help!
I put mine in a blender and works great.
I think this would be the perfect way for making seedless jams and drinks by making the powder? I’m so new to this and enjoying the information! Thank you for sharing! Have a blessed day!
No . It doesn't dissolve for drinks the way dissolvable powders do. It's still the fiber left - and can be used in something like a tea bag so that you can flavor the drink, and still remove the pulpy bits if you don't enjoy that. Jam is best made from fresh/frozen/rehydrated whole.
@@ThePurposefulPantry this is helpful, thank you for explaining!
What an amazing video and info, u r so amazing ❤
genius I love these kinds of ideas. Sometimes you don't want to eat but then you don't want the food in the fridge to rott.
Great thanks for the tips.
Loved this!! Subscribed!!🙂
Welcome!!
