Thanks for sharing that you don’t know what you’re doing and for wasting everyone else’s time. Somehow under the impression this was going to be educational. I thought you were going to tell us that it also needed to be coded or something and a how to because the cable was different . But instead, I think we learned how to work backwards and the square peg goes in the round hole but think you for helping everyone understand how you find this all very confusing. So thank you for pointing that out to us, many times.👌🏼 I just subscribed to your channel so thank you very much. I’m gonna go grab some juicy juice and my sippy cup and wait for your next video.🙏🏼
Thanks anyway. I had to ask someone else so I could understand your comment. Here is the answer - It sounds like the commenter is being sarcastic and critical of your video. Here’s a rephrased version: “Thanks for showing us that you don’t really know what you’re doing and for wasting our time. I thought this video would be educational and explain how to code or handle the different cable, but instead, it seemed like you were confused and didn’t provide clear instructions. You kept pointing out your confusion, which wasn’t helpful. Despite this, I subscribed to your channel. I’ll be waiting for your next video with my juice and sippy cup.” It seems like they were expecting a more detailed tutorial and were disappointed with the content. Don’t let this discourage you! Does having a bad IBS cause the EKPM not to get power? I replaced my fuel pump the other day, disconnected the negative terminal on the battery while I did the job. Afterwards, I reconnected and my car would just crank and not start. Everything is connected properly. Tested the fuel pump by connecting a 12v to it and it works. I replaced the ekpm already nothing. I did a multimeter and looks like the ekpm box isn’t getting power. Checked the fuel pump fuse and it’s good. Currently at a loss and was wondering this would be the problem.
It is remotely possible in some situations, yes. So the fuse f35 is not blown? Bad IBS also shows as a fault code if checked with a scan tool. Did you check for that? Think it's important to check and see if there is a code stored for a defective IBS. some people advise to default-code new EKPM, if replaced, but if you are not getting power to the module itself, then it's somewhere in the wiring. Let me know how it goes.
So I have a 2011 bmw 550ixdrive I had a charging malfunction pop up one day when it started getting cold it would appear for 10 minutes after I started up the car then go away after I started driving, now the message keeps popping on and off while driving 2-3 times depending on how long I’m in the car ,is it the ibs?…mind you everything else in the car is still working fine as before it popped up
Hi. If it was on my car, the first thing I would think is that something is not right with the charging of the battery - that is the alternator going out, or something simple like oxidized battery posts, in that line of thinking - that the charging system not working well. If all that checks out good, I would look into other components, including the IBS. IBS is more of a battery status reporting device, in simple terms. I would check if you get about 14V at the battery while the engine is running, if INPA or ISTA or other diagnostic equipment isn't available. Any specific fault codes you could share, associated with that charging malfunction message? Let me know.
I don't have a personal experience with E60 chassis, but there for sure is a blue connector on the negative terminal wiring. it may be hidden in the harness and wrapped in cloth tape. if you look through this article you may get some ideas - bmwrepairguide.com/bmw-e60-battery-sensor-failure-repair-2004-2010-5-series-all-models/
Turns off at speed while driving?? or when idling? In any case, it's almost a 0% chance IBS malfunction would cause the engine to shut off. Especially at a speed - when your car is in motion. Are any other codes present?
@@maxsam201 it’s depends ,usually at speed while driving and before when the engine turn off i didn’t feel anything just same than when u press the start/stop button on random time I made a lot of test and only wrote the ibs communication , nothing more fault code Now im thinking what’s wrong 😢
Sounds like something just disconnects electrically - like a loose connection. Battery cables are tight? DME would not turn off the engine at speed if it detects a problem with IBS. But if it shows a fault code for it, I think it needs to be fixed first, before looking anywhere else.
THANK LORD, 4 FKING YEARS I HAD THIS PROBLEM !! THANK YOU STRANGER FROM UA-cam !!!
Haha, I'm glad you finally got it figured out. And fixed it too?
@@maxsam201 totaly fixed !!
giving a like to you man , for the effort & sincerity.
Good job educating us!
oh yeah.. very much educated in : how to share confusion among peers.

Are you able to communicate with dme small blue lead is dme lead ?
yes those two wires are the data exchange line, probably part of CAN system.
I have a same issue with this cable and the car sometimes turn off on the road but it’s possible because of this ?

@@maxsam201 now i checked the cables but i don’t have any senzor on negative battery cable , it’s just a regular cable
Interesting. It is not a factory cable?
