This is one of my favorite bands of all time. Rollins is so rhythmical, endlessly creative, insane, fun, and just plain hilarious. He almost sounds like he is making fun of Boots Randolph. Check Sonny meets Hawk, Our man in jazz and standard Rollins all recorded for RCA. Top grade GODLY Rollins!!!!
There are many fine recordings of St Thomas but this is undoubtedly my favorite. The band is perfectly in sync with the rhythms and with Rollins . Rollins squeezes after last word out of the piece and Mr. Higgins is a relentless catalyst!
I can picture Billy Higgin's big beaming smile as he played this. He always brought such happy energy to the bandstand.
when the world is about to end please warn me 22 minutes early. i wanna dance to this
Hahaha amazing
Me and you both. Unfortunately that might be around the corner.

A cool album to buy, thank you!
From the get-go... dayum.
Sounds great. I see the references to Hawk but oddly enough it also reminds me of the direction that Albert Ayler took at times. Thanks for posting.
I think Ayler was one of the few musicians who was directly influenced by Rollins

It's amazing, isn't it?
