I really don't know the first thing about drumming and not much about Jazz either. But I love the Avishai Cohen trio and I think, for a large part, it's because of her drumming. She makes the whole ensemble float and brings so much air and swing into the mix. I can't think of any other music I know where the drums have such a prominent/leading role.
Roni's drum sólo in Seven seas is one of the most impressive moments of my entire life, absolut joy for me as a drummer, full eyes of tears of happines, Thanks for sharing this video 🙏and of course many Big Thanks for this Trio Avishan 🙏🙏🙏
How wonderful to have found this. And for some reason I love that there is a jazz chick on the drums. Not sure why. Unusual, I guess. The band have a great feel together.
This is a new constallation with a new pianist, compared to their Leverkusen 2021. And even I am forever in love with the one 2021 I have to admit also this one, and perhaps be more and more aquinted with it. It is like leaving your old shoes behind and try the new ones. And look up for Roni Kaspi on drums!
The hardest issue for me was how Guy Moskovich can replace Elchin Shinirov as pianist. They are different. But now I have accepted Guy as the also wonderful pianist he is.
He played for Putin's money, called Ukrainians nazis, and now you promoting him. Some European festivals canceled his concerts, which was a very right thing to do. I hope more people will be able to look at things more broadly and deeply.
What you call broadly and deeply, I think is hypocritical and naïve. Do you think, for example, a professional soccer player should be banned from the field for having the same kind of personal opinions? And going even further on that same line of thought, you shouldn't be buying potatoes from a farmer with those kind of beliefs. Where do you draw such a line? I hope more people will recognize artistry independent from personal and diplomatic beliefs. Enjoy the music for how it's brought by the hands of a master, not what those masters personal beliefs are.
@@ruud24k I suppose people are saying stuff like that because what's happening seems so far removed from them, they can't or don't try to really understand. There are restrictions for athletes from the aggressor country to participate in sports competitions. There are sanctions that have banned business relationships with the aggressor country, and many companies have left the market themselves. There are reasons for that, I hope there's no need to explain that. So yes, if someone supports a terrorist regime and helps its propaganda, they should be banned. If someone's opinion is that it's okay to kill thousands of people, they should be banned, and society should let them know that it's not okay. Should I go further and make easy-to-understand examples so it would feel closer to you and not as far as it seems now? Imagine someone killing your... I don't want to go this way in a conversation. But everybody should understand that we're speaking about real lives like yours and mine. As for artists and their music, there's no difference. Art can't be out of politics, really nothing can be. Artists are the same people as everyone else, no matter how good they are with their craft. They are inseparable from their civic position and must be responsible for it. And we should care about things like that. Why does this matter? There are practical reasons, if the ethical and humanistic side means nothing to you. But I'm not sure I'm able to cover here everything people should be aware of themselves. However, let me know if I need to clarify anything. I'm not taking the accusation of hypocrisy or naivety.
Roni Kaspi on drums is a wild beast, better than ever! Listen from 44:00
And at 1:14:00

Jazz lags behind classical music in development.
This TRIO for my heart like Image of Holy Trinity in the world of superjazz...🙄

I don't know... I don't like Roni Kaspi so much. Mark Guliana was just the best with the Avishai Cohen Trio in my opinion.
Repetitive. The variations on the same melodic structure circle around the same pattern. 😢
Lay off the drugs buddy. This is a phenomenal performance.
