  • Have we tested everything there is to test in Space Engineers yet? Hah, not even close! Here are some of the most requested questions from your comments!
    Can you pressurize an entire planet?
    Can you move a planet?
    Can you mine an entire planet?
    These are some of the questions we'll answer in this episode of Space Busters! Enjoy :)
    If you like the video, be sure to leave comments and hit that like button! That's how I know to make more of these!

      you could even sculpt the planet into a huge asteroid-base, with particle shields inside, rc mine fields in the lower atmosphere, and the gravity well in the upper atmosphere dragging ships into it, it would be one seriously well defended base. :L

    if you build a sphere/ring around a planet (that is not attached to voxels)
    will it fall?
    or will gravity keep it away from the surface?

    • @Laughing_Dragon
      @Laughing_Dragon 5 років тому +27

      theres also the fact that you have to have it at ALL "sides" equal distance from the surface, if ONE side is JUST a little closer, it has more pull... meaning it WOULD fall to one side, the reall question is, can you have it hoolah hoop around a planet, LOL.

    Hey, I've got an awesome idea for a spacebusters vid- just how far can you go in SE? What I mean by that is the setting for an "Infinite" world is not realistically possible- a bit like Minecraft's Far Lands/World Barrier. So, about how far can you get from coords 0 0 0 until either the game crashes or some barrier is found?

    • @tomasbotka561
      @tomasbotka561 5 років тому +8

      you can go something like 3,6 light years away (practicaly unreachable in reasonable time, that is why they call it "Infinite") , then position calculations glitch out

    • @jamesforgie6594
      @jamesforgie6594 5 років тому +1

      Tomáš Botka probably, what you could do, would be to build a ship with a bunch of jump drives, probably in creative mode, and jump a fair few times. Still not exactly practical, but perhaps doable.

    • @tylerlambert8400
      @tylerlambert8400 5 років тому +3

      New minecraft world generation is actually infinite. They essentially just have the standard coordinate calculations then when they reach the limit it gets a big +1, meaning add the limit to current position. Then a +2 and +3 etc. It's more complicated but that's the basic way it works.

    • @kirklazarus1132
      @kirklazarus1132 5 років тому +4

      There is actually a mod I use for infinite speed for ships and what not (not recommended for jetpack in survival lol), I've been wanting to try strapping a ton of Ion and Hydro thrusts on for a while to test out how far I could go, but my recommendation, do not fly into a planet going more than 2,000 KPH.

    • @lurts9820
      @lurts9820 5 років тому +4

      The furthest I went was with a ship that had a metric crapton of jumpdrives. That thing jumped a whopping 1.3 Lightseconds (= ~389730km) and I got many floating point errors.
      You know that hologram thing you get when holding a block. Yeah. That thing was a few meters away from the block I was aiming at. Movement via Rotors/Pistons got even less safe and I gave up, waited until my drives were recharged and GTFO'd.

  • @anteshell

    The test method for moving planets was null and void. The stations are anchored relatively to the universe, so they are by definition immovables. You have to test it with a ship. Possibly both with and without locking it to the surface.

    Completely pressurizing real mars is possible. However, it would take days to do in game, and a large team. You would need to set up sectors for each person to work in, and divide them, so its seperate rooms. Each room gets pressurized after a while and boom, you got an eyesore!

  • @samueljohnson849
    @samueljohnson849 4 роки тому

    If you think about why the room was only 75% pressurised; I suppose the actual physical planet is displacing a large volume. But mainly, the jaged and uneven surface of Mars leaves weird shapes - importantly NOT whole blocks - on the surface. Because these aren't whole blocks, it cannot pressurise them. Therefore, a very minute layer around the surface of the planet is unpressurised. This is the missing 20%. If the blocks that it registers are smaller, then the layer would be thinner and therefore have a higher pressurisation percentage.

      your speed get reversed at some point and the collision check is to slow so you are flying trough the object and at 2^32-1 km/h you will go backwards

    Huh, it whould be interestig to make a planet with very high gravity and small size, mine it and effecively get a "black hole"

    If your GFX driver is getting crashed by a game, clean your card heatsink ;)
    I thought the pressure wouldnt go up past 69. because the remaining 31% is the voxels of the planet.. but I guess there is a limit to the cubic meters of space? At least it didnt flip over like your speed in the last video and become a super-vacuum of -0.69 % pressure

    Imagine if that cube was a ship. You are chilling in your base when suddenly you see a giant cube approach and abduct your entire planet

    Would´ve been cool if the game had atmosphere retention, enabling rudimentary terraforming.
