I have been going through so much recently, losing some of my close family members in Gaza. I came across your channel accidentally and you would not believe how much I enjoy seeing you two going to different places, exploring the UK 🇬🇧 . It feels as if I am travelling with you… I always look forward to your new videos… Please stay safe and happy. Keep up the great work and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.🎉❤❤❤🎉 Thank you 🙏🏻
So sorry for your loss 💔
Very sorry for your loss. Stay safe x
@@sandimoo ❤️🙏🏻💚
@@sarahedwards1641 Thanks. And, you ❤️🙏🏻💚
"I gave my last pound to a homeless guy" If you had to describe Helen's character in one sentence - that would be up there 😍as James's " Christmas markets are just huts selling overpriced tat" is a classic!!😄
Another wonderful video, I'm guessing you weren't mad about the getting a little dog to keep you company on your travels idea? I didn't think it through actually - you are both wanting to have more trips abroad so it wouldn't really be practical.
I'm looking forward to your next great adventure! All the very best, Sarah 😊✌
Thanks Sarah, we absolutely love dogs and will have one eventually its just not practical at the moment
Thanks for another great vlog. So glad you liked our City of Chester. It’s great seeing it through someone else’s eyes. We often go in on a Sunday but not this week, would loved to have said hello to you both. Barbara and Brian xxx
Chort: NOT everybody likes dogs ‼️ They are just poop machines - feed them one end and it comes out the other ... hairs, yuk, long walks, yuk. Barking, yuk. Sorry 😢😢😢
@Jol: NOT everyone feels the need to stick their big nose into a comment that was obviously meant for someone else!! Sorry 🙄😒🙄
@@ChorltonandtheWheelies Well said!
So glad you enjoyed Chester! I love the Pied Bull pub. Lovely video & great to see Helen ❤
Great video as always. I was surprised to see that it was not as 'diverse' as the major surrounding cities. I would actually feel safe walking around there.
It felt really safe
That’s exactly what I thought after watching the first 5 mins, brilliant video as usual, glad the weather didn’t dampen your spirits, lol!
@doffchitty1875 It's such a shame that we have to even think like this. I am lucky because I moved to Cornwall from Yorkshire 27 years ago. I am a Yorkshireman and miss the banter and people. I would still rather my family and kids feel safe down here though. You get small pockets of bliss like this, but not many.
"it's too busy, let's find a pub". That's one of my favourite sayings...
Thank's guy's me and the wife realy enjoyed that one .we've had several trips to Chester in the past , plenty of drinks around town then off to the racecourse with our gang ,brought back some lovely memories thanks.
You seem much happier and upbeat when Helens with you james, i can see why she's such a lovely fun loving woman , but such a greedy guts taking a massive bite out that pork pie than giving you half funny or what😂
Thanks again Lynn & john ❤❤❤
Thanks Lynn & John. I love spending time with her :-)
Bless you both ,such pure pure people ,gives me hope that England isn't totally lost X Merry Christmas to you both and a very very happy new year. Stuart ( the mad Yorkshire man )
Thank you Stuart, Merry Christmas
Do you mean lost to islam? Because it is I fear….😔
i an 60 years old and have to watch u tube on a 12 hour night shift just to get through realy in december but your dry wit makes me laugh
love how u showcase our country and people when we are not bitter were the best j
Great fun to watch you both getting some Christmas spirit. Take care James and Helen and keep the festive fun flowing.
Thank you :-)
Lived in Cheshire for a few years, however as a Yorkshireman currently living near High Hoyland York has it!
What I love about what you do and what you and Helen do is I feel like I am visiting these places with you, some I've been to and some have not, in the company of friends and I'm just silent one butI I'm there sharing the moment. Thanks
Hey I was just about to say that dinner looked fantastic when Helen gave a great review, I find myself talking to the screen alot when I'm watching you two 😅. Great video😊
Haha, nothing wrong with that 😂
Chester looks brilliant great vlog again, made me think back to the Normanby Hall vlog they have interactive screens in there explaining each item of furniature you could have been there hours waiting for Helen, lucky it was closed for the day, it is good in there though.
Phew, that was a lucky escape!! 😂
A perfect Xmas winter warmer...Thanks guys!😊
No hair transplant needed James...You would never live it down!😊
Warmest festive wishes to you and your family❤
Thank you, merry Christmas :-)
Looks lovely Chester . Nice to see you both putting out lovely blogs etc and love it when you find a pub . Cheers
What an interesting place Chester is good architecture and bad in the same street. Pity about the weather though, seeing how everyone is wrapped up against the weather brings back a lot of memories. Another great video thank you both, I'm smiling again.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it 😊
I don't think I have ever seen two people have so much fun in and shared so much of Chester. 🙂 I haven't been for a long long time but you're making me want to go back. You two are just so lovely together! Btw the city wall of Derry is another complete one - hopefully we'll get you two over to Northern Ireland in the new year? So many lovely things to see. 🙂❤️
Thanks, we will be coming soon. I've been checking flights
@@bythecurb i hope to bump into yous in St George's Market! 🙂
love watching you two, going through really rough ime at mo so please keep cheering me up thank you.
Im sorry to hear that, keep your chin up, hope things get better for you ❤
So pleased you enjoyed my local city. You parked by the river but missed the bandstand and footbridge over the river! Hope you come back again soon. So many good pubs to visit!
Another big up for Chester council, the park and ride was cheap and punctual, adding to a great day out in chester
Hi James and Helen - Great Upload - Beautiful Architecture - Lovely Place - Thanks to You Both
Really enjoy your vlogs - Can recommend Chester's traditional "MidsummerWatch" Parade (carnival atmosphere, with a chance of dry weather! 😆✨) and Chester's Winterwatch /Roman Saturnalia Parade (again, festive atmosphere, with a 50/50 chance of rain! 😆✨).. Keep the vlogs coming, both 👍✨ - Your on screen chemistry makes for an enjoyable watch, each and every time.. 💖✨
Always great watching you both enjoying life and missing each other, it's a good predicament to be in , that's what makes it so special 💘
If you liked Chester, I reckon you’d also really like Shrewsbury - a lot of lovely medieval/listed buildings, great pubs & eateries, and picturesque views of the River Severn - but make sure you go when the weather’s a bit better, as the river level gets pretty high during prolonged heavy rain!
Ey Up! My hubby and I love watching your videos. You both seem like lovely salt of the earth, genuine people which is a bit of a rarity on UA-cam these days. Thanks for the great down to earth content, keep up the good work. 😊
You should consider going back to Chester when the Chester cup is held ..in May....a great atmosphere on the racecourse and in the city....and as my little nephew says...GOOOOGLE IT...cheers
Some of the buildings are Victorian/Georgian but many have genuine medieval cores. UA-cam has some great clips of the Chester rows showing the history of the 2 tier streets great when the weather is not so good
I loved Chester when I was there in 1973. Not much of the walls or towers are really Roman anymore... too much building and re-building over the centuries as Chester was always an important city and occasionally fought over.
I’m impressed by your knowledge of architectural styles,James.
Old Bet Lynch walks about like she’s on a mission, doesn’t she.
Haha she does. I love architecture and will talk about it a bit more in upcoming videos
Hi James and Helen, Chester is one of my fav places and that food looked phenomenal 😋 glad the rain finally went off for you. Helen has such a generous kind heart ♥
Thank you Sandra
So, Helen found her twin sister at the market😆🐆. Great video today, enjoyed watching you two wander around and meeting some of your subcribers, you've become very popular now. Loved seeing all the different buildings and architecture. Your dinner looked amazing, always nice when you order a meal and then it tastes as good as it looks. A perfect park-up too, except for the rain it was a win-win weekend. Thanks for sharing with us today, have a good week.
Thank you, it was a brilliant weekend, the meal was probably the best meal we've had all year!
Really interesting architectural commentary on Bridge Street. Thanks 👍.
Another great video from a fab couple.. Helen rhyming off magazines at the end lol I'm thinking oh please don't say People's friend.
Firsts-things-first: your choices of music are so accurate; the opening scene underlined how incredible your instinct for what music fits what image/ segment is. You are a borderline artist. And use your time in Chester as the go to confirmation that you are loved by YOUR community.( You both, actually ).
Thank you so much, the music is really important to me. I spend a long time making it or choosing it
Helen is so much like my niece. Specially where pubs are concerned 😂. She’s lovely ❤
Great the recognition you're getting, seems you get more when Helen's around 😇
Chester looked good fun and your final nosh up sumptuous! 👍😊
Such a great stopover, was there Friday night.
You went to 3 great pubs, Pied Bull is excellent and The Saddle is my regular when in Chester, have great Music every Saturday night
If you visit again try the Brewery Tap and the Kings Head, both just around the Corner from the Eagle
I was way ahead of you on the dividing up of that pork pie 🤣🤣🤣Class!
Another great vlog Guys. Thank you.
Just found your blog and have binge watched , thank you for your positive view of Hull , keep them coming 😀
Thank you and thanks for subscribing
Hi guys. I work in Chester. Live near by. Enjoyed seeing it from a different perspective. Great vlog as usual. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
Happy Christmas to you both and thank you .
Did you know that Ed Alleyne Johnson playing the electric violin in the town there was in the band New Model Army 1990s I think , he's often in York as well .
You were made for eachother soulmates lovely to see you're in love and happy....we're in bed as I write with our cat on the bed having breakfast and enjoying every minute of your posts keep it up God bless merry Christmas and a happy new year love and best wishes John and Jacqueline
Helen seems like a real handful, a lot of fun. I bet she has an extremely colourful past!
Chester is very like York with its historical vibe and of course a good racecourse too.
Good to see you both, thank you for the upload, 👍
You're welcome John
Hi to you both ,I will have to get my husband to take me yo Chester we are about 2 and a half hours away as we live near Durham and Sunderland I love watching you going around I get a taste of things and think I would love to go there thank you angy ,I hope Helens hip is ok with this cold weather ,but she always smiles angy
Thanks Ange, It's a lovely place and well worth a visit
Top vlog again James , chester looks a lovely place a lot like York with the city walls , hope you & Helen & your families have a fabulous Christmas
Thank you, Happy Christmas to you too
Ey up another top video James and Helen, great to see you are getting recognised where ever you go, you are naturals with the camera and so down to earth ,friendly the list gos on and on...cant wait for the next instalment.
Thank you :-)
You would have loved Panda Mami - all you can eat buffet with so much choice!
I love Chester too. Spent many a day window shopping and many a night pub crawling 😀
The buildings are older than you think. One of the pubs' frontage is from a galleon 😮
We really liked it. Lovely place
Another brilliant fun video.
Me and the missus really look forward to your journeys!
That Costa building had me swearing though!
God bless you both🙏
Thank you, it's a bug bear of mine 🙂
To be fair, you can't blame Costa! If you had walked by the river James would have seen the true blight of Chester!
That Pied Bull looked amazing. If I’m up that way I’m there.
Yes, it was a nice pub
Hi enjoyed Chester we don’t live to far from there but nice to see the Xmas market and the night life. 😊😊
Chester is lovely looked like you both had a fab time. Love Helen’s coat.
Chester looks so impressive..love you two. Great video! ❤
Loved every moment of this video 😊 didn't want it to end ❤
So pleased you enjoyed my hometown ❤
I went to Boarding School in Ruthin, just outside Chester, in North Wales. It was one of those new schools refounded in 1282. My favourite memory of Chester central was the start of the RAC Rally blasting through the streets at 120mph into the dark and rain. Our Hel's is so funny a bit tippsy, give her a cuddle.
I went with a mate to one of those hair transplant shops James and the girl we talked to recommended that we each get toupe's even though we'd enquired about hair transplants and are both bald as koots! 😂😂 Great vid guys, love Chester.
Haha thanks, might put it on hold then
You’re my favourite Yorkshire Christmas Grinch - happy holidays to Helly Bobs
Haha thanks
Another great Vlog James n' Helen, your pics of Chester are fantastic. Hope you didn't spend to much at the Christmas Market it looked expensive, keep up the great work....I'll Sethee
Got a suggestion for you… Haxey Hood day on 6th January.
(Villages between Scunthorpe and Doncaster)
Amazing local tradition approx 650 years old!! It’s a great laugh.
Push for westwoodside though!!
Chester is my favourite city so much to do and great pubs great vlog again guys
Eyup! Was that your music too? If so, bloody marvellous 🎵🎶🎉.
We call it “mock Tudour”!
This warmed my heart. Best wishes to you both x
Thank you, you too
Fab place Chester..me'm'Hubby go quite often..on the train from Merseyside..just for the day most times..great vlog..so nice to see Chester through your eyes..and the bottom of many a beer glass..😉🤣🤭🌲
We loved it. Beautiful place
I love your stuff. So honest. So entertaining. Barnsley creates great people.
As far as I know, York is the only complete city wall, it certainly was when I was last there, but Chester is almost complete, it falls away and you walk along the street a ways and re-join the city wall. I have spent several times in both Cities and know them very well - but from about 15 years ago now ...
Loved seeing Chester guys. Great video. Live to u both. Happy Christmas! Lisa xxx❤❤❤❤
Thanks Lisa, Happy Christmas
Great video we love Chester to, and you're getting closer to Wigan, 😂
I love how in your videos you just end up steaming.😂
Excellent vlog on Chester really nice place. First place myself and the wife went on our start on our weekend away trip. The electric violin player was Ed Alayne Johnson, used to play in a band by the name of New Model Army he's got a few solo albums available covering different well known tunes it's awesome stuff ,was busking when we were there .Keep up the fantastic work.
Brilliant again .
Great to see you both drinking stout.
It’s the future .👍
Funny how the met office can’t tell us the weather tomorrow but they scan tell us what’s its going to be in 10years….
Lovely video .That food looks Amazing .Merry Christmas James and Helen. All the Best for 2024 🎉🎉
Thank you, same to you! 🙂
Great to see Chester thru your eyes - I live there but you never appreciate where you live. Weather is shocking as usual 😮. Great video
Thank you :-)
Eerie... As a foreigner, by accident I have twice walked half of your route, and drank beers in that old pub. Shivers, weird, fate?
Ah If only I'd know you were visiting Chester. I'd have come across the border to wish you Bore Da on Sunday morning. I love Chester. Loads to do & see. Glad you enjoyed it 🏴
Love Chester....try and get over there on a race day...bustling, great atmosphere - the racecourse is just the other side of the road from the carpark you stayed at...👍
Very enjoyable blog and thanks for entertaining and keeping the festive spirit alive .nice place chester .
Happy Christmas to you two
Happy Christmas to you too
Had a few days in Chester last year and loved it, stayed in house not far from where the Xmas markets were, I loved the place. Near Liverpool and North Wales to, Liverpool would be good for a blog btw
Brilliant thank you. ❤
Brilliant vlog, love Chester, but not Christmas markets 🙂 way to bloody busy, nearly as bad as York was last weekend, going back again this weekend, more pub time for me 🙂 Rain follows us around as well 🙂 Love the buildings, you can have some of my hair 🙂 Take care Trev Debz and Tyler
Great vid guys, Chester and York are probably two of my favourite places to visit, England at its best.
Absolutely brilliant video well done guys ! looked like fun
we went Exeter xmas market..... but had the dog with us 😏. I spent hours outside shops. great atmosphere though. great vlog guys x
Love that intro music ❤️🔥
Awww what a great vlog Chester’s only about 20 miles from us and we don’t go but you’ve made us think we’re off there this week😊 Helen I absolutely love your jumper I can never find anything that nice. 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 loved the vlog and love you two to bits ♥️😘😘😘😘😘
I love hearing ur subscribers shouting "hi" must be a gr8 buzz.. Gr8 vid as always 👍
Love Chester , I like all the pubs there are 'the oldest pub in Chester' 😅
Finally figured out what Helen does for a living 😉
Please come to Chester again in the summer!
Great video's guys, watched about four last couple of days. Thank you, feel like I'm travelling with you. 🚐😊
Thanks for watching, glad you like the videos
Great place great couple great video 🎉🎉🎉 regards Howard from Cyprus
Thanks Howard
Love being invited along on all your adventures 😂🤣
Another great vlog. Not been to Chester for years & it’s only 27 miles from me. Been past dozens of times to Llandudno & Caernarfon. Caernarfon is a great night out, but obviously a bit far for you, & not sure where you could park the van.
We loved Chester, the parking was great too
"I think the whole 70's (architecture) should criminalized"...priceless! Agree. Would love to have a bit of pith in addition to all your fun adventure vlogs. Not sure how personal you want to get & I respect any desire for privacy, but I would love to know more about your thoughts and reflections on your life, life changes anything like that. 😊
Thank you, I do have quite strong opinions on things like that. I might try and include more of my thoughts 😊
