Thanks for this! My 3016 after some heavy brush-hog work would not shift into 1/2, could only get into 3/4. I looked at the side/bottom plugs, both open but had some gunk, cleaned and flooded with WD40, no help. Then I looked more closely at the base of the shift lever - note the notch on either side that engage with the rectangular “dogs” I think they are called - well mine would not clear the 3/4 dog to move the 1/2 dog. I tried prying over the 3/4 no luck. I loosened the 2 bolts holding the shift lever and found it has adjustment room but not enough. I ended up removing it and bending the lever just a bit, reinstalled and now it all works! I had to have bent this while backing into some very heavy brush/mass of small trees. Amazing this nearly half-inch rod could bend that easy but it did. I had previously bent the hydraulic lever, that one is thinner and more exposed, caution in brush, lol. Anyway, not enough information online about these tractors, keep it up!!!

Thank you sir for the info. I have a 1626 with 30 hours and a stuck clutch. I didnt know youre supposed to lock the clutch in the depressed position when parked. Im going to check for the plugs and see if i can get it to free up.

The buck control valve cap should be tiet, The valve has no O ring, On my 4500 tractor I have taken the valve apparent to clean the burnt oil of the shuttle valves. Due Mahindra using vegetable oil in place of hydraulic oil , the oil burns and stick to the hot suttle valves after hard use. What I plan to do is to replace oil with real hydraulic oil which will eliminate the sticking valves.

I commented on one of your videos before when my tractor had the same issue. After I searched for a dealership in my state to work on my tractor without success, I did find a small engine repair shop in my area that has some experience with tractors. They took the tractor apart and found the shaft completely frozen and a lot of surface rust on everything inside. Another issue was the clutch and pressure plate assembly for my model was no longer available. They searched and found a parts place that had a direct replacement based on the specs and I ordered it and they picked it up and used it.
Okay, so with the tractor in about a half dozen large assemblies they found two of the casings had no sealer between them. They figured that over time, water had made it's way inside where the internal parts and eventually the shaft became covered with rust making it difficult to shift and then froze.
The fix: they used sealant between the casing and shroud after treating them with an anti-rust coating. When I got the tractor back, it was better than new. The linkages worked perfectly and although it's been a while since it worked this way, I believe their repair did fix this better than when I received it off the delivery truck years ago.
One tip they shared with me was to keep it out of the rain and every month spray something like WD-40 on the shaft where it exits the case on both left and right sides. My plug is still installed at the bottom and I pull it out to see if any moisture pours out. So far, it's completely dry. Only time will tell...

I have a question. I was out mowing a field yesterday with my 3016 and about 3/4 of the way through it started losing power under load. Runs fine when not under load.
    Any ideas?
Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

Hmm 🤔 make sure your mower or bushog, whatever you were using isn’t clogged up. Grass wrapped around the blades.
      Have you checked fuel?
      Replace spark plugs?

I have a 2021 1626 . The issue I’m having is the parking brake won’t stay set. Any suggestions?

Strange that a tractor that new would be having issues. I would just check all adjustments. Make sure you’re setting it correctly as well. Just some thoughts 🤷🏼‍♂️

Check connections. Check fuel. Will it crank? Like turn over?

Had a similar issue with mine a few years back. Split it and tried to get as much rust out as possible. Spent a thousand dollars ordering a new clutch plate and other things from Mahindra the first time. Ordered a service manual. Not super helpful. Pressure plate was really rusty but I cheaped out and did not replace it at the time. Had no clue about the rubber plug but mine was still in after repairing it. It totally makes sense for the moisture to come from that part as well as the bell housing. There is a square plug in the bell housing as well. In the process now of splitting it again. If I put either the range selector or the gear selector in neutral the forward reverse moves easily. I think mine had more moisture since the first repair as evidenced from moisture present in bell housing plug. I found a MUCH cheaper place to source the pressure plate and clutch assy for about $180 verses over $1200 from the dealer just for the pressure plate. At this point mine moves with the clutch all the way in. Tried adjusting the clutch but it has either no power or movement. the clutch lever is very stiff and I think the fins on the pressure plate are seized. The fins were etched when the first throw out bearing had seized. Thought it was a bad belt. Be careful injecting water in that side hole if you pressure wash your tractor.

Man! I hate that. You are definitely not alone with these problems. Mahindra has a flaw in these tractors!

Finally got it back together this weekend. Thought i would mention a few things. Mahindra does not have the clutch release fork available for order. My housing had quite a bit of rust in it so I had originally planned to replace all of those parts. The one piece I really needed they did not have. I ended up using some Kroil spray lubricant on each bushing that passed thru the bell housing and replaced the pressure plate. Kroil is really expensive but worth it. I have used PB blaster and WD40 before but Kroil seemed to do better. It works great now.

I’ve got a 3016 and it’s got the same problem. Mahindra replaced the clutch under warranty with only 80 hours on it. It took months and months to get back and still wasn’t right. The tractor would make a noise when I pressed the clutch pedal, likely the throw out bearing.
Fast forward to now with 190 hours, I press the clutch and nothing happens and the shuttle shifter is extremely hard.

This is a common theme with this model. I hate you’ve had issues as well. Just know you’re not alone!

Thanks for the video. I am helping a friend with a 2005 Massey 1533 that will only go into reverse and curious if Massey has similar "weep" holes to vent condensation? It seems that condensation and corrosion are common tractor transmission problems.

Dirt daubers can cause a lot of problems. The have filled up keyholes in the ignition switches on 2 or 3 of my mowers. Annoying little buggers.
