I feel very sad about Nadal's losses in finals at Australian open.. They were very unfortunate. Somehow he managed to win second AO title after brutal losses in finals . He should have won more title here. He is truly inspirational athlete!!

He won 2 titles there both in five set matches. 2 of his 4 losses were in five set matches. It is completely fair.

@@YT-ol7ssWell, he lost to a Swiss TWICE - so it’s NOT like only 1 person can beat him there!

16:53 is completely unplayable, the way that forehand could hit passing shots is unbelievable really. The best ever forehand at those kind of shots

Federer had 27 extra hours of rest between winning his SF against his pigeon Roddick and playing the final compared to Nadal.
However it didn't matter because the mental scar tissue was too big a factor for him to overcome at that time after Nadal slaughtered him in 2008 French Open final for (losing just 4 games), dethroned him at Wimbledon (Nadal should have won in straights but kudos to Federer for stretching it out to 9-7 in the 5th set, wins the Beijing Olympics and becomes the new world #1 the very next day. By beating Federer here, Nadal had beaten Federer on all 3 surfaces in majors.
Well done to Nadal for winning a blockbuster marathon semi against Verdasco in the SF and running away with the 5th set in the final here

Out of the 3 Slams outside RG, AO is definitely the one where Rafa could have picked up at least a few more to stay in the race with Novak. Was up a break in the deciding set in 2012 and 2017 against Nole and Fed but just couldn't finish them off! 2014 he also was injured against Stan in the final but Wawrinka was playing superb tennis that day.

You can arguably throw Wimby in there as well. He went to the Finals 5x and got 2 out of that. From 06 to 11 he reached the Finals in all those yrs he entered. Ofc he had some brutal losses to lesser, but I still think he should of grabbed 1 or 2 more.

@@touregarrett That's true Rafa was super consistent on grass up until 2011. Unfortunate that he came up against prime Fed in 06 and prime Nole in 2011. If he'd been fit to play in 09 I think he'd probably have won. 2018 was brutal too he played better tennis but Nole was more clutch in the big points.

nadal Forehand is not above the head ar that time .
if he use this forehand technique in 2025 , he and play more aggressively
he can come and win slams and 1000 master's
