Thank you! Magic, yes sometimes it seems that way, but I always try to see the beauty in the piece of wood and get the potential out of it, and fortunately it often works, otherwise it becomes wood for the fire place 😂🤣😁.
Sometimes you just have to start with a piece of wood and be surprised what can come out of it. I also sometimes start with an idea, but it turns out to be everything, except not what I had in my mind 😅
Thank you, 😃 👍 Oak is certainly very beautiful but hard wood. But you can edit this very nicely. In my upcoming youtube video I have another great piece of wood/burl.
Thank you ,drawings, yes that's actually it😁 and I need sometimes a little help from Google Translate😬, so he made drawings of the Dutch word "tekeningen".
@@JensHovingaWoodturning English is not an easy language unless you grew up with it. However, you are doing well! Much better than I would if I had to translate my videos to Dutch! 😁
Thank you for your comment 😃, and yes the grain is beautiful. I used Products of Howard (Bees wax of cutting oil) also used " verbeterde houtolie" from the Cokerije" this is food safe.
I love your work, wishing you all the best on you tube. I've recently also started a channel and know how challenging it is 😁 Keep it up , I will keep following you on your channel 👍
Thank you for your comment, and glad you enjoy watching. It is difficult, especially in the beginning, but my advice is to do what you like and enjoy, and try to put your own turn on it 💪💪
Beautiful platter. Did the CA glue stain the Oak? I find with Walnut and especially Cherry it will absorb into the surrounding area of the crack, even with putting an initial coat of sanding sealer.
I really love how you found the Beauty of this Wood. You should wear a Mask when turning rotten Wood, there’s Fungi in it and it´s not so good for you . (Excuse my bad English i hope you will figure out what i wanted to tell you )
Thank you for your comment, wood dust and certainly rotting wood is not good for your lungs, so I always recommend a mask, I use a power gap with filters myself. (Your English is quite good, 😀👍)
Outstanding!
Thank you 😃
Great turning on that piece of oak!!

I’m speechless over the beauty of this bowl/platter. It’s absolutely gorgeous! I love it! ❤
Thank you! I'm also often amazed by the hidden beauty in the wood! My up coming project this friday, is a real beauty to 😀
Fantastic work and great result

Your profiles are very nice. Showcasing the grain and finding the hidden beauty

Thank you, yes great and big😬👍
Great job of getting the best from a beautiful piece of wood. keep on doing your magic.

@@JensHovingaWoodturning I have that trouble. Finding good wood to start with can be challenging. Love your work.

Thank you, Děkuji😀👍
sweet jjob
Yes it is, Thank you 😀👍
I would suggest sanding sealer before CA glue, stops the staining
Thank you for your comment, and yes you can also use sanding sealer to prevent staining, actually a good idea 😀👍
Отлично, очень хорошо!
Thank you, Спасибо 😃👍
Beautiful platter! The grain patterns are wonderful. Funny that you translate them as “drawings” which I guess they are in a way.
Thank you ,drawings, yes that's actually it😁 and I need sometimes a little help from Google Translate😬, so he made drawings of the Dutch word "tekeningen".

Thank you for your comment, the ca glue (thin) does stain a bit, but it depends on how neatly you work, I use wood dust to for filling the cracks.

Nice job and great product! What type of wood is the product made from?
Thank you , this is a piece of oak that i have used. A quite hard wood.
Could have used a hollowness cutter and got 3 more bowls. What a waste!
Thanks for your comment, three bowls is a bit optimistic, but i understand what you mean, the bowl is only 8 cm high (3,15 inch) deep .
No longer an Ugly piece of wood 🪵
