saving the bark with a method that reminds me of the Japanese Kintsugi technique. Very well made! And yes every side is a winner, the creator and the viewers.
An absolute stunner! Has to be a contender for the turn of the year. Ooooo, could we get a video compilation of your favorites to wrap up 2024? That'd be epic.
And as per usual Andy, i am so enamored by the fact that the final shape is just perfect. The right curve starting at the base that leads to the top edge making proper balanced height. The piece is simple, honest & perfect... BRILLIANT!
Yes, a winner in 360°! It is so fun for me, Andy, to watch your tool prowess as you move through a piece. You are both competent and confident. Great job on this Yew! 😄 Phil
hi Andy, as far as I'm concerned every piece you do is a winner, this stunning piece is no exception...loved the incredible woodgrain patterns & how you brought them to life, so glad you were able to save the beautiful live edge, as usual you've created an exceptional piece of art!!!
Beautiful piece as always, the colors of the wood, the final design of the piece that just shows your talent, I haven’t seen you put any of your trademarks on any of your pieces lately.no stickers or metal signatures, just cannot get over all the vibrant colors.great video, just keep on making the beautiful pieces.be safe.kudos 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Yo my teacher watches you, and think, how I found yo channel, my teacher showed us some of yo videos in class when we have free time, and I love them, keep up the good work!
That looks amazing. One question: would you ever consider putting a clock in the corner of one of your videos so that we could experience how long it takes to create art like this? Sometimes we watch videos like this and get unrealistic impressions as to how long it takes for even a very skilled craftsman to finish a project.
Of all your work I like these natural edge cross-grain pieces best. I had wondered if you ever have problems with bark flaking off, and now I know how you deal with it. Does working yew or any other really hard wood make your wrists ache?
What a true work of art. 100% better than that stupid bananna on the wall that sold for millions. This is a piece that should outsell that useless piece. Keep up good work.
We're not the first. i hope we're not the last cause I know we're all headed for the adult crash the time is so little the time belongs to us why's everybody in such a fuckin rush make due with what you have and try not to forget we never were we're just a minor threat
Woodturning is the most wasteful form of woodwork. A hunk of wood from a tree that over several decades grew into, is reduced to a bowl, vase or a lampstand, none of which are of any practical use other than decorative pieces, probably afforded by the ultra rich. How many of these creations sit gathering dust on a side board?
The eye of an artist to see the finished piece in the raw timber and the skill to draw it out. Doesn't get better than that.
Thanks for watching
Восхитительно! Увидеть в чурке будущую прекрасную вазу и осуществить задуманное - это талантище!
Stunning piece of wood. The mix of colours, the grain and the bark on the edges work so well together. Gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
so satisfying to see that work of art sculpted by Andy's hands from a hunk of raw wood. It is truly beautiful!
Thank you 👍
Beautiful as always, Andy.
Good job!!
Many thanks!
Beautiful. The grain looked great even before the oil and then it just popped. Stunning work as I expect from the master
Cheers
Beautiful piece, anything with the ‘natural’ bark finish are my favourites. Shows off the grain so well too ❤
Thank you!
Really nice, Andy. You (yew) did a great job highlighting the beauty of that wood.

How long does it take you to turn something like this? Your masterpieces are just that... masterpieces.
Never really time it as filming always makes it take a lot longer 👍

You should do a collab with The Slowmo Guys. It would be really nice to see this in slow motion
Lovely
Did Yew See what he did with that YEW ?? I Knew Yew Would !!!
I guess Yew Knew it would be spectacular, right ???
It's really beautiful Andy.
Thank Yew
Beautiful.
lovely
Thank you.
You spoil us with the hi speed video, what was the actual time this beauty took⁉️
not sure ...everything takes longer when filming 👍
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning oi! Ya just can't get anything done with us looking over your shoulder, can ya? 😁
So i'm jusf starting turning, why do you use a bowl gouge instead of a roughing gouge when starting this?
I find I have more control when turning irregular pieces like this
👋👍
Of all your work I like these natural edge cross-grain pieces best. I had wondered if you ever have problems with bark flaking off, and now I know how you deal with it. Does working yew or any other really hard wood make your wrists ache?
No, luckily I don't get any problems ... Thanks
Good
Thanks
I've always wondered, what happens to the pieces that you make that don't end up on your website for sale?
They don't always get into the shop straight away, but some pieces I give away and some I keep
Another bowl thing?? Haha 😭
First😊

At least trim off those little twigs!
Why would you make the edge look so ugly
I didn't make the edge.. they are called natural edge pieces
Beautiful
