A quick heads up, I don't know if yours is a Hydrostatic or a Shuttle Sync, but if it's a Shuttle. Don't spend as much time looking for your hydraulic filter as I did, the Shuttle only has the strainer screen in the sump, I called my dealer and he called up the chain, and got back to me and we all agreed, it has no hydraulic filter. Other than that, I love mine.
Most of the other tractor channels have used leaf blowers to clean the radiator screens, as he mentioned, lift the loader boom, uninstall the screens, blow them out, reinstall. And it can also be used for the air filter without fear of tearing the paper with higer pressure than needed.
I believe in using the manufacturers fluids. I bought a used tractor with hydrostatic drive. It worked fine just driving around mowing. But if i tried pulling or pushing anything heavy it wouldn’t do anything. I had the dealer flush and refill it with the brand oil from the manufacturer. It had been changed by the previous owner with napa brand hydraulic fluid that was supposed to be compatible. After putting the correct fluid in it the tractor pulled like a mule
Brock, thanks for posting this! I am at 47 hours on my T574, this is perfect timing for me! QUESTION: Did that harbor freight transfer pump do the whole job? If so, I'm going to get one this week!
Good info here, I'm a little surprised that the inner filter missing wasn't caught in PDI along with it being low on fluid if it isn't leaking. New owners need to double check everything.
There actually is not an inner filter on the 574… I just made a mistake! The front end fluid could have been a miss by us… it was low but not TOO low. It was still reading on the dipstick
Watch the oil geek, Lake Speed, Jr. In all tests it showed less wear to the engine over time if you prefill the oil filters. There are several seconds you are running an engine dry if you don't fill the filter before putting it on the engine.
thats why i recommend using lucas oil stabilizer, in my Rotella 1540, you never have a dry start. been using it in my Cummings N-14 for many years. i have 1,459000 miles on it, never been touched, still running strong.
Not sure all dealers make it available, but the one I bought from said the filter replacement KIT was cheaper than individual filter pricing. Something to maybe consider?!
i would suggest that tym or dealers look into a vent for the front axles, we had to put vents on our tractors on front, we got ours from otis supply or tractor time with tim for links , may save seals on front knuckles
Lots of opinions and not necessarily Facts on prefilling filters. Let's face it, the sooner you have pressurized oil to main and rod surfaces the better. This has served me well for 60 yrs now. In the end you do what ever you want, it's your damn equipment, personally I want mine to last.
$700 is cheap for a 50 hr service I have a Kubota 3130 . My 1st service I went along side with just so I knew what to do I payed $1200 but I had 15 gal. of hydraulic fluids vs your 10 gal. My shop supplies was $700 and also in a large metro high labor rates.
I like what you doing good info for new Tractor. owners but what about bye used a Used tractors with no Menus an no Warranty how do we figure out the Proper floods to go in it. If one doesn't know now there's a Video. Lol keep up the good work ty
@@kyleree6757 you’re fine! The machines come assembled from the factory with loaders attached and full of fluids. We have a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) checklist that we follow. A good summary is: Checking fluid levels, making sure bolts are tight and not missing, making sure everything functions as expected (PTO, 4x4, all gears, buttons, lights, switches, etc) assembling any accessories, giving a final wash if necessary, and we always fill the tank with Diesel. There are lots of things that need checked and we try our best to catch any issues before delivery is made…. Sometimes things get by the factory and our techs, but that’s where your warranty comes in! If you have any specific questions let me know… I can provide you with a PDI sheet if you want. - Jake
good video Brock! I didn't see him grease the U joints, I know the John Deere 1025, 2025 & esp. the 2320 tractors the U joints are very tricky to grease. Great tool that Radiator Genie, you might want to create a paid link to it for yourself!
can't really pre-fill an oil filter that's horizontal we can argue forever about whether they should be prefilled or not prefilled on new cars a lot of them if you floor the accelerator pedal and I believe touch the brake at the same time it will disable the ignition and you can crank the engine until it builds pressure would not apply to this Tractor but it has a horizontal filter anyway just makes a mess
Coming up on my 50 hour service on the 474. Are you aware of the 3 point issue with the new valve body they are installing in both tym and bransons? Mine has the new valve body.....it's TERRIBLE. I can't finesse control my 3 point at all. My dealer said engineers at TYM are aware of the complaints, and will NOT be addressing the issue. Just thought you might like to know that not all TYM owners are happy about it. Pisses me off in fact.....
Excellent video Brock. Jake is very knowledgeable and personable guy. I learned a tremendous amount. Thanks
Excellent video as always Brock! Thanks to Jake as well.
Good video, informative, I will use this for my TYM 474C when my 50 hours service comes due.

Very thorough and well described Brock and Jake. Makes me want to do it myself on the next interval service. Thank you.
Glad your back my truck needs work

Timely video for me. My 574 is sitting just above 47 hours.

It did the whole job… just not quickly!
I use AMSOIL lubrication products the best & made in America! 100% synthetic!
Synthetic oils for break in period is a no no
This is an excellent video. One of the best you have ever done imho. Good work!
Morning, hopefully the cruise is good
Bet he takes a vacation from the diet and eats a lot of boat snacks.

That’s good to know, thanks for the reply. I’ll be contacting the store today about buying a 3515.
my understanding is this tractor does not have a two-stage filter many do but not this one
@@sprint48219 lol, yeah that’s what he said. Your understanding is correct!

The suction filter is really in there. I had to run a screwdriver thru it, to get it off.
did you have a good time on your vacation hopefully you did
Nice video -- thanks!
Regarding that front axle oil level being low, if it's not losing it it's using it.
The dealer didn’t add enough
you would thought you could swing out the small coolers to get to radiator better

I'd love to see what @TheTractorYard does to prep a new tractor for delivery, because reasons
What might those reasons be? Maybe I can help
@@TheTractorYard I'm picking up a 2515h package on Friday
Just to clarify, I'm not trying to be an ass, my mechanical mind is just curious. Looking forward to the new machine

And congratulations on the new tractor! Excited for you
If oil is low and now leaks, it's dealer setup
That air filter 🤣... That's worse than Hank's!

That tractor had to be overheating with the screen clogged that much

The old machines were simpler the modern machines probably require more knowledge to service.
