Wow! As a Hydraulicsman in the Marines during the 80's this is one of the best hydraulic videos ive seen and maybe the best tractor hydraulics videos on youtube.
Glad to see that you're finally back to releasing videos! You've been gone for what, about two months? I've been missing all of that information that you put out!
Really glad to have you back online with videos! I was thoughtful enough to have my dealer include the 3rd function at purchase and while I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on that grapple I want…I don’t regret the cost amortized over the life of my tractor. Really looking forward to some of those Kioti videos you had been promising.
Last year I watched many of your videos to learn and compare tractors. I ended up buying a JD 3035D with front loader bucket, fork lift and root grapple. The Dealership did work with me since I bundled the tractor and implements. The root grapple has been my number one tool and bucket the least used tool improving the farm. The fork lift has already helped pay for itself shipping large items directly to my home. The fork lift has many purposes without the need for a pallet, hoist, remove a large engine for instance. I'm going to get the top link for the rear, you proved it would help scrapping and using a box blade on unlevel ground. Of course I'll need the SCV's, lines and ports. I live in a hilly area so adjusting the top link manually has to be done often for good results, PIA. Thank You and your team for all the educational videos, they really help educate, enlighten and hopefully reduce the costly and deadly mistakes to owning and using tractors.
Great tutorial. Layman's terms. Thank you. I have WR Long third funtion. It broke and they offer no help. I called Summit Hydraulics and they were very helpful. Great company To be connected with!!
I must be an exception, I take my loader off all the time. But I also mow with my 2038R with my mmm. I also find it handy to not have the loader on for running the brush hog, grader box and other variety of jobs! I have 2 factory rear remotes as well as the loader and 3rd function. Glad your back!
You aren’t the only one. Can’t beat going loader-less if working in tight areas or rough ground. I’ve not working around loader arms for basic engine service too.
I have a compact tractor for yard work, and I bought a hydraulic top link a couple of years ago, thinking it would save me some time and effort adjusting the angle of attack for my rear blade. I had no idea how useful I would find it. It makes it much easier changing implements; it makes it much easier to use implements. I use it about 4 or 5 times as much as I thought I would. It's super useful. I can remember thinking "do I really need it?" Now I would simply hate to have to go without it. I've thought about having a diverter too...maybe I will have another look.
Wow, you’re back! I thought you called it quits. I went back and looked at a few of your latest videos thinking I missed something being said about quitting UA-cam. 🤷🏼♂️
Awesome video, Courtney! Excellent description of the various types of hydraulics and options. I recently had the 4 port Summit Hydraulics kit w 3rd function and 3 additional rear SCVs added to my 2038r and I love it. Hydraulic top link is indispensable too. Thanks again for the great video and keep up the good work!
I personally prefer the diverter valve option for the grapple control for the loader as opposed to the true third function option. By diverting the flow of the second function to use for grapple control you have the ability to feather the grapple function speed. But when using the third function kit It is either full flow or off, there's no way to feather the hydraulic flow and it makes it very erratic control. I find very few instances when there's a need to actually roll/curl functions and the grapple functions at exactly the same moment. We installed the Summit diverter valve kit on a John Deere 4520 compact with 400 loader. We use it for both the grapple and front mounted pusher blade with power side angle for snow removal. Very happy with it. When we originally acquired the tractor it was using the rear remote for the third function control on the loader and that was virtually unusable as you so accurately described when showing that option on the one John Deere tractor.
Deere had a diverter valve kit that ran a top ‘n tilt kit with the loader joystick. That worked pretty well and there was no need to setup a tractor (especially a smaller machine) with 6 SCVs. Also, some PTO chippers could utilize a power beyond kit instead of having their own pump and reservoir.
I take the loader off my 100 horse chore tractor regularly during summer for doing hay so it’s out of the way for turns by fences and less compaction then put it back on to pick up the bales when finished for that cutting in the field. Also if something fails and the is designed for quick removal the loader can be removed a lot easier in undesirable locations provided you have extra hoses, some boards for the legs to set on if on ground where it can sink, and a second tractor which saved me a huge hassle when cleaning up in my woods before. Even if I planned on keeping the loader on 99% of the time the quick attach saved me once and the local dealer doesn’t charge labor for loader removal on repair bills if it’s a quick connect
On the Kioti CK series (cabs only) you get 2 set of hydraulics. One is for your normal hydraulic function while the second hydraulic port is essentially the power beyond because the handle for that port has a detent which keeps it engaged. The front loader handle on the new CK 20 series already has the 2 buttons and is pre-wired for a 3rd function kit.
Hi Courtney, glad to have you back. love your videos. I am in the market to get a tractor around the end of the year. Your reviews on the Kioti are pointing me in that direction.
Good and timely topic for me right now. I think I might have damaged the hydraulic pump on my new Kioti CK2620SE by lifting IBC totes full of water. I just contacted Summit Hydraulics to see if they have a replacement pump for it and whether I can upsize it by 2 or even 4 gpm?
Technically. I put on a 3rd function. But put extra lines to the rear so that my rear top link works off my 3rd function . Handy handy super duper handy.
Great video to start off with. Now really do a video on what hydraulic lines that people are really supposed to tap into to add all of the different functions. John Deere, Kubota all have different lines to tap into to add these functions but no one really explains that. I have a 2000 Kubota and the line runs are different than the new styles. So, I'm trying to figure out how to make some rear remotes work.
Top link by far! Went from something I wanted to try to something that I can’t live without. Now I’m thinking about that multiplier for possibly the tilt??
Not throwing a monkey wrench into your great video explaining fluid dynamics, but the older tractors, like a Super M, had a single hose system. In other words, power up and gravity down for pull behind mowers or barge type grain wagons.
Well im knew to the Chanel and i love your videos👍 im pretty knew to the compact tractor ive run skidsteer dozer and big loaders. I bought a 2008 ct235 bobcat this spring and loving it. I did wat you said i plugged in my 3rd function at the back and ran hoses to the front for my 4 in 1 bucket my leaver is right beside my loader leaver so its not bad. If i leave the leaver in detent when my bucket is closed or squeezing something can that hurt something in the system. Thanks 👍
I installed rear remotes on my Massey 1742 so I could install a top and tilt set of hydraulic cylinders. Waited until I had the remotes installed before ordering the cylinders from Summit Hydraulics. WTH. 2 months back ordered. Won’t be available until August.
Love your videos. I've been dreaming of a hydraulic top link on my orange L3201, You've got me getting more serious. I currently have a 3rd function that is routed to the front for a grapple. I don't have a grapple, nor do I ever expect to need one for my little Hunting lease. I'm contemplating robbing the 3rd function up front and simply running lines to the rear, While leaving the "Future grapple" lines in place. Tractor had a backhoe in the past and the bracket and actual connectors are still there. Any reason this wouldn't be a cheap, easy way to add a hydro toplink with only the cost of the top link and two hoses? (The 3rd function button is already there and working).
Can you use the power beyond feed to supply fluid to a muti port function instead of adding another line? I want to add a rear snow blower and be able to control the shoot and diverter. I have a 1025r btw
I just checked Summit Hydraulics for a top tilt kit for my Kioti CK2610. The estimated ship date is in the middle of Sep! I wonder why so far out for what looks like pretty standard components?
I just put a top link on mine. I think they are still designing the side links though. The Kioti tractors have a clevis on top for the side link, different than Deere and some others.
My Mahindra emax 25 has a 3rd function, I have a loader for my international tractor that I am looking at putting a similar loader with a 4 in 1 bucket on it.
A question on the multiplier selector switch... Does it have any "logic" in it so that only one circuit on the multiplier can be active at any given time, or could you, most probably accidentally, actually activate multiple circuits at the same time?
Out of curiosity, was your extended absence explained by having your boot and lower leg removed surgically from the lower intestines of someone over at JCB??? I know that would be the case if I had the same experience you had described on two separate pieces of brand new equipment you had bought.
This not about hydraulic. Do you have a single hitch plate for a skid steer with a trailer hitch. Just one that you can use on one side or the other side thank you. Can you post the type please
If u r not using the loader it is hard on the front end for no reason and will wear out your loader faster that why it a good idea to take off the loader if u r not using it

Your back? Praise the Lord. My wife's been complaining to much. Your videos allow me to dream and spend money on attachments. 😀😀😀
Good to see you back. I was beginning to think youtube kicked you off for some unknown and incomprehensible reason that makes no sense whatsoever..
Welcome back! It looks like there were others that missed your videos.
Great to see you back Courtney hope everything is good with you all. Hope to see you getting back to your videos watch every one.
Wow! As a Hydraulicsman in the Marines during the 80's this is one of the best hydraulic videos ive seen and maybe the best tractor hydraulics videos on youtube.
Awesome to hear, appreciate it sir!

I like your reasoning for having 6 functions, it is always good to have options.
One of the better explanations of hydraulic function. Helped me understand what I want to do with my tractor. Thank you.
Great tutorial. Layman's terms. Thank you. I have WR Long third funtion. It broke and they offer no help.
I called Summit Hydraulics and they were very helpful.

Glad you've returned. Learned a lot. Thanks
Options are good. Especially when talking about hydraulics. Thanks for the explanation. Welcome back. Obviously, a lot of us missed your videos.
Welcome back. I watch all of your videos and I missed seeing them. I throughly enjoyed watching your video thanks
Nice to see you back. Something I like about using power beyond is the proportional control it gives the operator.
Welcome back and a great video for your return!!!

Glad to see you creating content and posting again.
Glad to see you back Courtney. Great video. Lots of information.
Good to see you back on! I missed your videos lately.
I like your Mike Roweesk delivery and mannerisms. Very entertaining esp for educational content. Thanks
Great video, very informative.. Glad to see things are going well, and to see you selling lots of tractors again!
I was lost without your videos!

Thanks for the hydraulics information.

Great job with all the descriptions thank you very much even learned a couple things. Thanks again. Be well. Be safe.

Good to be back :)
Hey Courtney, nice informative video. Thank you. Been thinking of doing a QA bucket on my L35 so I can have a grapple.
Useful information, thanks Courtney.
Technically. I put on a 3rd function. But put extra lines to the rear so that my rear top link works off my 3rd function . Handy handy super duper handy.
I ordered my JD with a true third function. It was my first tractor. Had I known I would have ordered all the hydraulics available.
Great video. Tons of useful information. Keep em coming !

I have a Branson 4815CH .the backhoe would plug into detent valve on back if I had 1 ( backhoe) is what I've been told..thanks good info
Welcome back.
I take my loader off all the time to give me more room to make turns near trees when doing tillage work.
Top link by far! Went from something I wanted to try to something that I can’t live without. Now I’m thinking about that multiplier for possibly the tilt??
Welcome back 👍🏻

Do you have a video on the hydraulic quick Attach?
Well im knew to the Chanel and i love your videos👍 im pretty knew to the compact tractor ive run skidsteer dozer and big loaders. I bought a 2008 ct235 bobcat this spring and loving it. Welcome back
I've missed your video's. All the best from Greensboro NC. LS comes with two rear remotes.
Dude you've been gone for awhile
Good to see you back!
great job ty
I don't have any need today for the extra hydraulics, but it just looks like fun to install them.
Great video to make a return with.
I installed rear remotes on my Massey 1742 so I could install a top and tilt set of hydraulic cylinders. Waited until I had the remotes installed before ordering the cylinders from Summit Hydraulics. WTH. 2 months back ordered. Won’t be available until August.
Hot commodity! :)
Very informative video.
Makes me want to spend money.
WELL Well well look what the cat dragged back to UA-cam😂
Interesting , Thank You
Wow, you went full kioti, I think it was a smart move.
I've been wondering when you were going to post another video!
Love your videos. I've been dreaming of a hydraulic top link on my orange L3201, You've got me getting more serious. I currently have a 3rd function that is routed to the front for a grapple. What are your thought on adding a diverter valve to your true third function to control a hydraulic skid steer quick connect?
Would be pretty slick!!
Miss the videos!!
Finally!!! I thought you were snatched by Aliens looking for ways to play their planet. Good to see ya!!
Can you use the power beyond feed to supply fluid to a muti port function instead of adding another line? I want to add a rear snow blower and be able to control the shoot and diverter. I have a 1025r btw
what tubing and fittings for straight runs and connection to hoses. can i make hyd hose with those barb fittings and 2 HD stainless claps
I just checked Summit Hydraulics for a top tilt kit for my Kioti CK2610. The estimated ship date is in the middle of Sep! I wonder why so far out for what looks like pretty standard components?

No smart logic is as far as I know...I've never had multiple circuits activated at the same time though. That could get interesting!
Great video ‼️👍🏻
I would love to know how these tractors are cleaned? Seriously, what do you wipe every part of them down with what? 😊
I have TYM 574 dealer installed third function
Third function does nothing when loader is in use is this normal ?
That is correct, the 3rd function is just hanging out while using the loader functions.
which summit kit do you use for the DK series?
Out of curiosity, was your extended absence explained by having your boot and lower leg removed surgically from the lower intestines of someone over at JCB??? I know that would be the case if I had the same experience you had described on two separate pieces of brand new equipment you had bought.

SCV is self centering valve. I am assuming you guys were just joking when you said that you didn't think the acronym stood for anything.
I don't recall that part of the video and not going to rewatch now, but it stands for Selective Control Valve.
If u r not using the loader it is hard on the front end for no reason and will wear out your loader faster that why it a good idea to take off the loader if u r not using it
Will the extra Hydrolic’s VOID MY WARRANTY??
Dont most remotes have a detent that turns it into power beyond?
I want a tractor so bad. Don't have the land to justify it though ha!
Service Control Valve
i love my hydraulic top link
👍👍
As clear as mud ??
If only we could get just a couple standard types of fittings instead of the giant mess thereof.
