    Excellent, informative video. I appreciate what Stanford University offers for providers to better understand causation and proper biomechanics of specific anatomical tests. Thank you, it is much appreciated.

    I have very little range of motion in my right hip. I have pain deep in the hip joint. I have no trouble walking or jogging but sometimes pain laying down which interrupts sleep. Thank you for this video. You inspire me to finally go to my doctor with confidence.

    About as much as a general internist really needs to know of the hip examination. Perhaps some time could have been devoted to septic arthritis and, since many patients take steroids for various reasons, aseptic necrosis of the capitis femoris. Andy Murray has just retired because of hip disease which is presumably femoral-acetabular syndrome.

    Great explanation! Does the operation of a hip replacement helps to rid of Meralgia Paresthetica?
    Thank you.

    • @melkenshawn
      @melkenshawn 4 роки тому +1

      Most probably not. The problem with meralgia paresthetica is from the compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. So the pathology does not necessarily involve the hip itself, but some other underlying pathological process like trauma or obesity.

    After MRI its found there is localised bone oedema on inferior aspect of left femoral neck and calcar femoral. Oedema is 9mm in depth and there is mild poristeal oedema. No visible microscopic factute . Appearance is consistent with grade 2 fermal neck stress injury.
    Pls advice me how I can get better and start running again as before .

    Quick question, the faber/patrick's test you described that it's highly suggestive of sacroilitis, could that be used in addition to shobers to diagnose ankylosing spondylitis?..looking at sacroilitis as a cardinal x-ray feature of the disease.
    Thank you.
