You don't need to cut the stroke and re-adjust the easing. Get the stroke easing correct at first; after you split the letter in 2/3/X segments you can use the original stroke as the matte for all of them.

@Sungwon Shin understanding what people mean: you're doing it wrong. If you do this with stroke effect you don't cut any layer but it's more complicated, opposed to using path animation as they do in the tutorial. Your answer sounded arrogant and noobish by the way.

I usually use the Stroke tool with keyframed brush size near the intersections of letters. Seems easier than this.
