An engine rebuild would be a great project, great videos for the channel and save a good GT. It depends on how much the rebuild will cost versus selling for parts
This car is an GTA unoficcially. There were only 4244 pieces made. Less than GTAs. People often don't know, that on outside may look the same as diesel or any other GT, but it has longer front bridge (GTA) and far wider side skirts...330mm disk brakes and with GTA map it is GTA engine. So no question about saving her in my opinion. :)
Hi Neil, I don’t really understand what you mean by “fully rebuilding the engine”. If you mean that you want to put new bearings in it, I’d say that’s work that doesn’t need doing. For the symptoms that it has right now, I think a set of new head gaskets and checking the straightness of the block and the heads is enough. That in itself is a large enough job if you’d ask me. Especially if a head turns out to be warped… I would love to see you start working on it! There is not a lot of content on the inner workings of Busso’s out there I believe. I would highly appreciate it!
Nice condition GT 3.2 with pretty low mileage too. Pre 2006 tax hike (unlike mine sob) and good tan interior - has to be worth saving. Apart from the overheat, looks like it has been well looked after. Please save it!
Vote for save for sure! Looks like a solid car otherwise, even good sills which is rare these days. Would be nice to see some Busso full rebuild material :)
An Alfa V6 can't die ! Save it ! The car is in great conditions and Gt V6 is the last Alfa who received the Busso... I have the same in France, color Blu Digione and I love this car 💙
If the car was here in Australia I wouldn't hesitate to repair the motor and tidy the rest of it up, particularly as it's a manual. These are an emerging classic over here and are starting to command a price for a decent one.
Exactly. I made the same comment on the previous video. I paid $20k for a low mileage example a couple of years ago and it’s still worth around that. Awesome car to own and drive.
I has the exact same but the 1.9d, (couldn’t find a decent v6 at the time) loved it & never had a problem with it for the 3yrs I had it, I think it’s in to good a condition to break, save that lovely engine & rare GT
If the engine can be saved there’s no reason to sell it for parts as the rest of the car only seems to have minor issues. Even if the engine has bigger problems maybe another one can be sourced. In any case it will be a treat to watch the repair work.
Interior looks quite good, body not bad, although something out of line on rear bumper, below fuel filler. So if the underside is rust free, its well worth saving. The mot history is well above average, too.
Looks like it’s in very good condition. As you have the advantage of being able to do the lion’s share of the work yourself it’s a no brainer to do the full rebuild. If it was a paying customer then it would take a bit more thought but it seems too good an example to dismantle.
For sure rebuild the engine! If it's not to late i would do it. It does not sound that bad. A couple of grand and it should be good to go for a number of years. And not even 75K miles...it's worth saving. Just wondering howmuch it costs to rebuild it. I guess both heads refurbished 1K? And other materials about 500 pounds? And then the labour? between 2.5 and 3k total?
Part out the motor & gearbox excluding rotating assembly, pistons, rods and liners. Find a 2.5 block and gearbox and clearance it for the crank drop in a torsen and replace all the 2.5 stuff that can't support a 3.2, injectors etc are due for replacement either way.
Rust free original 3.2 GT with a relatively low milage is definitely worth saving. Those cars will be classics in a decade or so. Its worth will go up. I wouldn't break it for parts
It’s a V6 Busso. It should be on wheels and on a twisty road somewhere! A true ALFA comes with ton of service history😎😎 Greetings from a Mito Benzina owner 💚🤍❤️
Definitely worth saving - if the engine is going to be rebuilt then the rest of the car deserves also bringing up to scratch imo. It’s a low(er) road tax one too!
I have mixed fillings becaue of lacking knowledge about UK market of such cars but I would rather save her. The millage is quite low, no rust and nice leathers inside. They gained some value over the last few years across Europe and 15kEUR or even a bit more for nicely looking ,well mitained and low km example is not surprise in Italy, Benelux or Germany. Besides engine repaire and paint jobs it would be good to insert quaife (or Q2 ) lsd. People do not know that GT 3.2 is actually faster on the track than GTAs (healthy vs healthy, stock vs. stock), I was tracking mine over 2 seasons in the past and it was very competent - spanking or at matching many newer hot hatches and some sport cars. The suspension is very good out of the box. Very often people are lowering them and you can forget about competent handling if the road is not super flat. I would even put her on 17' wheels (Tooras) then set of Michelin PS4 or 5 would be pretty chip (225/45).
A bit of a dilemma, couple of years ago, i'd say, take it apart. If you got some room for it, rebuilding the engine seems like a nice idea since its really complete and overall seems in quite good condition. Prices are going up for anything with a Busso in it.
Save it, definitely. The walk around made me nostalgic about mine, and God how I miss that sound. I'd check the front ns spring for a break though, it looks lower than the other side. Mine went in the same way, took me ages to notice as my driverway is very uneven.
It does look tidy, apart from those obvious paint repairs and sills. How much would you have charged the customer for a full rebuild? Surely, you would want to recoup those costs if you repair and onsell it.
Save it Neil. That GT could be worth 12k pounds here in Italy if it had an healthy engine. Overhauling a Busso is a piece of cake, did it on my 147 GTA, spare parts though are The pain in the ass, as you surely know. Ciao
Hello! Please tell me what ignition angle should be on 166, GTV 3.0 cf3? -3° or -6°? And is it possible to drive a firmware 2.5 cf3 with a 3.0 engine? I swapped a 3.0 cf3 (with red injectors) into a 156 2.5 cf3. I flashed the computer with a card from 166 3.0 cf3. The motor seems to be working well. But there are errors p1314 and u1706. VCD and ASR do not work. I'm confused by the -3° ignition angle. On the previous 2.5 engine, the ignition angle was -6°. On a 3.0 engine with 2.5 cf3 firmware, the angle is also -6°. There are no errors. But the gas pedal is very harsh. The car picks up speed very quickly from idle. But at high speeds the power drops. With firmware 166 3.0 CF3, the engine is smooth at low speeds, and after 3000 it accelerates sharply.
I’ve just bought 1 a couple of months ago with 67k for £700, it has a few silly issues (driverside windows catching /sticking/over boost pressure fault in 4th gear on full throttle/ and a lazy starter motor) but I absolutely love the car, all 4 corners of the sills have previously been damaged, but ignoring this it’s proving a great car on fuel and is cheap to tax, mine is an 07 1.9jtdm. They’re few and far between so far and being a V6 it would be worth saving but I’d bet the humble diesel like mine is the rarer car
Yup, save her :) such a nice car the GT, miss my old busso, keep thinking of buying another when I see them come up for sale, sadly the 3.2 GT's never seemed to be as well looked after as the 147 / 156 GTA's I've looked at.
I know you don’t do job in halves, But if rings and bores are good, why take it all apart? The 24V bottom end can last at least 100k+ if owner is good on oil and filter changes.
Like dogs. Every Alfa has it's day. If I'd repaired my £630 Alfa GTV2000, or my £500 Alfasud or my £1000 Alfa 75 3L Veloce, and kept them under cover, people would be congratulating me for my genius at having £20k of cars I'd paid £2k for. But that was the 90's for you. But I couldn't afford to fix them, had no where to store them. But you my friend........
As its rust free, i reckon its worth saving. Will you rebuild the bottom end too? It a nice looking car, head skimmed should push power up a little too and, as its only done 75k, it shouldnt be an issue from a stress pov. I guess its about how much of your time youre willing to give and, how much any out-sourced work will cost. You are running a busines after all, not a charity. If you do break it(hopefully not) but if you do, can i have the chrome pipes please 😂
My vote is to save it. They're a treat to own & drive. I love mine.
In all honesty as it’s quite a rare alfa, i would put the money into restoring it & hence keeping another alfa on the road. Keep up the good work 👍
It's way too nice to break, I would love to see the engine rebuild. Great content for the channel.

Definitely worth saving what ever the cost ...it's an Alfa !!
Definitely save it, if the underneath is ok, especially the sills.
If the car was here in Australia I wouldn't hesitate to repair the motor and tidy the rest of it up, particularly as it's a manual. These are an emerging classic over here and are starting to command a price for a decent one.

Absolutely brilliant video neil ❤ 👍defo needs to be saved she's a beauty brilliant

me too. I installed a soft reprogramation and it flies
Well worth saving. It'll make a really nice example with an engine rebuild.
If the engine can be saved there’s no reason to sell it for parts as the rest of the car only seems to have minor issues. Even if the engine has bigger problems maybe another one can be sourced. In any case it will be a treat to watch the repair work.
Absolutely worth saving and I will enjoy watching the videos on the full engine rebuild process 👍👍👍
Interior looks quite good, body not bad, although something out of line on rear bumper, below fuel filler. So if the underside is rust free, its well worth saving. The mot history is well above average, too.
Definitely save it. Too good to break it down. Also, a low miler. I would bring it back to life. Great video 🇦🇺
Would enjoy the content seeing you fix it. In a few years you'd regret breaking it when they get rarer and rarer
The rest of the car looks neat and if an engine swap is financially viable, maybe do that?
Looks like it’s in very good condition. As you have the advantage of being able to do the lion’s share of the work yourself it’s a no brainer to do the full rebuild. If it was a paying customer then it would take a bit more thought but it seems too good an example to dismantle.

Absolutely worth saving! Have had one with same color combination and similar 18' wheels for years now, love it!
Surely that is worth the effort. Rest of the car seems to be in fairly good condition.
That colour combo, that engine and those wheels = yes
One of the most beautiful coupes of all time!
How is it for underside corrosion? Would be an interesting engine rebuild project for you to show us. Beyond my limited expertise!
re-shell the crankshaft, check the bores, possibly re-ring and skim heads as well as check block. New gaskets and belts & bingo. :)
Part out the motor & gearbox excluding rotating assembly, pistons, rods and liners. Find a 2.5 block and gearbox and clearance it for the crank drop in a torsen and replace all the 2.5 stuff that can't support a 3.2, injectors etc are due for replacement either way.
Yes keep it, heads need a skim. I agree with a full rebuild…..
I promise to watch every bit of content you post about the rebuild of this car
Yes, definitely save it! Silver with Tan leather is a rare combination that looks lovely....
YES! Save it. Looking forward to seeing the entire process.
Had a 156 V6 not that quick but sounded glorious , there are definitely in diminishing numbers. Save it!
Don't need a sniff test for that one...
Save it, nice low miles and an increasingly rare appreciating classic.
Definitely fix it. It would be good to get another gt saved and back on the road.
It would be interesting to see the restoration of Busso, great content will be released!
Save it of course, she's a beauty

Any update on this? Great colour and tan interior.
Love the colour combo. Worth saving surely

I would have never sold it, and I’d have got it rebuilt by you, it looks in great shape, a pretty car! Save it, you know you want to! 😊
I recommend you keep it ; you have the knowledge to rectify these issues. Yes keep it…
Save it, definitely. The walk around made me nostalgic about mine, and God how I miss that sound. I'd check the front ns spring for a break though, it looks lower than the other side. Mine went in the same way, took me ages to notice as my driverway is very uneven.
As an engine it deserves being rebuilt, but since it's not my money and time, I can't say.
It depends whether anyone would buy it for the relevant amount when fixed.
Gosh that's a nice example, would definitely like to see you work your magic on it 👌👍
Save it, only thing not so limited about this car is that silver was to popular a colour.
YES. Only reason that bI didn't bid on it was the cost, bearing in mind head skims.
Fixing it would definitely make an interesting series for the channel; SAVE 😊
It does look tidy, apart from those obvious paint repairs and sills.
How much would you have charged the customer for a full rebuild? Surely, you would want to recoup those costs if you repair and onsell it.
I had one of these. Lovely car. Is it worth saving? Put it on the ramp and check the floor pan. If it is OK, then I would save it.
Come on. It's just got to be saved. I'm envious of that Tan interior and those rims.
It looks to be worth it. The interior it's in very good condition and the exterior it's just a bit of work.
It's a Busso , so it deserves the love. I wish I could buy it off you.
Definitely save it Neil they're increasingly rare on the roads
I would save it for the Busso alone and it a nice solid looking car Neil
Save it Neil. That GT could be worth 12k pounds here in Italy if it had an healthy engine. Overhauling a Busso is a piece of cake, did it on my 147 GTA, spare parts though are The pain in the ass, as you surely know. Ciao
Difficult as there maybe more damage than blown headgaskets do the heads crack on this motor or problems with liners
Definitely save it, looks like it’s in pretty decent condition. 3.2 busso & manual what’s not to like?
It's looking fine. good luck
Save it for sure! Such beatiful cars are not for scrap.
It's a Busso, of course it should be saved!

Save that Bella machina at all costs mate, you know you want to, go on.
Cuore Sportivo
Love your videos, wish I could be half as handy.👍
If it's good underneath then put it back on the road. Nice colour combo imv.
Please save it. This is a clean and rare example
Save, as long as it's not a tea bag underneath!
How much would it cost part/ labour estimated? I think it would be heart over head to rebuild .good vid interesting!
Absolutely every busso deserves saving!
It's a no brainer. Needs to be saved. Drop it out do cambelt at same time. QED. :)
Think it is a saver, interior is great if underside is ok then yes.
But who would want that. At least ths five cylinder diesel sounds good.
Worth saving, no doubts!
Go for it! Great content !
Don't break it it deserves good repair she's good looking Alfa👌💖🇲🇰
I would definitely restore it, there ain''t good cars like this anymore
Definitely save. A beautiful car in pretty good shape.
Defo save it. I would paint it too. Red or black 👌
Should be saved, its a busso V6 GT👍🏾
Great content for the channel. Definitely fix it
Yup, save her :) such a nice car the GT, miss my old busso, keep thinking of buying another when I see them come up for sale, sadly the 3.2 GT's never seemed to be as well looked after as the 147 / 156 GTA's I've looked at.
Save it! Can you show us why we shouldn't consider chemiweld as an experiment ?
What kind of oil do you use for Busso engine?!
Bussos becoming more and more rare on the road. Please save it and show all the required steps to do so 🙂
It still looks modern that car. Definitely repair it , the condition justifies it.👍
If it’s going to still turn a profit then defo rebuild make excellent content, as someone else said tho depends how solid it is underneath
Hi Neil I think it's worth saving looks quite a nice car
I know you don’t do job in halves, But if rings and bores are good, why take it all apart? The 24V bottom end can last at least 100k+ if owner is good on oil and filter changes.

If you've the time, defo save her Neil!
Yes it's worth repairing it.Its a very good condition Alfa.
Of course if fuel consumption still not an option for the user.
My opinion.....Definitely save it. Apart from its current problem, it's visibly been very well maintained. It'd be such a shame to part it out.
