Chopiniana is the correct nickname for this. Baryshnikov is the best male dancer (classical anyways) of the 20th century!!! When you look at how perfect his execution is, on every level, in this role thats the only you could watch this just like Corsaire...So far in the first half of the 21st century, that title is held by Carlos Acosta...The only person who has actually surprised Misha AND has a much nicer line :-)
I think Barishnikov doesn't fit in this role: his line is not good, his expression is not sincere, his dance is not lyrical, finally I can't see his romantism in this very romantic ballet... :(
