Yeey, another track of their landmark album Mandylion. Nice. Great harmonies between Anneke and Marike. I second the suggestion by lukas to check out In Motion #2 from the A Sound Relief concert, or better still, that entire award winning concert dvd (for your 1k subscriber milestone maybe?). The two tracks combined are magical on Mandylion, just like that entire album tbh. ;) Marike was the first clean singer of TG, and she shined on their doom metal debut album 'Always', together with Bart Smits (aka the Smart Bits). Check out the songs 'King for a Day' and 'The Mirror Waters' from that album performed during the TG25 show. Marike and Bart also joined for other tracks during TG25. They supported Silje in 'I can see four miles', from their excellent 2012 album 'Disclosure'. Lol, you're definitely not the first to get totally Annekefied by her annique sound and presence. Keep enjoying! Hmm ... for slightly out-of-control singing by Anneke, maybe you can find a few notes in their 2007 'A Noise Severe' concert dvd, from the concert they gave for their most appreciative audience in Santiago, Chile. That concert is worthwhile watching in its entireity as well. They were all over the place and so were their fans.
Hey, Nick! I had to really control myself not to ask for this song, since you announced that you will not comment on this tour anymore - so thanks a lot for breaking that decision 😄 There is a "sequel" to this song - In Motion 2, I recommend it (but Pinkpop or Dynamo Festival version has poor sound quality, the live version from the Sound Relief tour is better - but more intimate, it might be worth comparing with the album version). And if you'll listen to Herbal Movement sometime in the future (part of another tour), I'll be happy. See you! PS: Congrats on first 1000! 🥳
If you want to catch up with the powerful voice of Marike, you should listen to "King for a Day" also from TG25. She's a studio musician, so her stage presence isn't the best, but she has a great and powerful voice.
The Gathering is a great live band!!! Anneke and the Guys really improved a lot from their early days as Musicians and this Concert is a great Proof and an nice overview of their whole Career. They evolved quite a lot and as you've noticed their songs are quite different. (Also Anneke's solo stuff is super eclectic) For a song from their early days before Anneke I would recomend "King for a Day" (With Bart and Marike) and for a song from after Anneke I would recomend "Heroes for Ghosts" (With Silje) both from this Concert. But if you want more Anneke (is Impossible to not fall in love with her) they have two DVD's with her fronting the band. "A sound relief" Focussing in their experimental and psychedelic stuff (I highly recomend "Herbal movement" Fron this concert) and then "A Noise severe" Where they play their heavier side, (I really like "Monsters" or "Saturnine" Fron this concert) Damn I'm really sorry for the long message I'm not usually a fan of reaction videos but it has been quite fun to watch again all this songs with you hahaha just like showing music to an old friend 😅
Hi Nicolas!
The second singer is Marike Groot, actually the first singer of The Gathering from their first album. Anneke joined later ;)

I'm glad to watch Marike here, the first singer from the Gathering. And of course, the great muse of this band, Anneke. It was an amazing concert
I might love this song even more than Travel
