Well that had to have been one of the top honors and highlights of James Taylor's life. My God, to be inducted by Paul McCartney, who obviously meant every word he said....

@@onefoot7 Oh, James Taylor is GREAT! He's fantastic. He's barely a footnote in history compared to Paul McCartney, but that's not to dismiss how wonderful James Taylor is.
@@geoffsaplin5167 Don't forget James Taylor was only 19 when he was the first artist signed to Apple Records. George Harrison loved "Something In The Way She Moves" so much that they used that as the first line in their own song, "Something". That's pretty impressive when you've impressed The Beatles.
James Taylor is my favorite singer and I am so very happy for his induction.

Remember listening to "Fire & Rain" on the car radio back in 68.
That wouldn't have been til a couple of years after, "Fire and Rain" was first released in 1970.
@@Fordham1969 right bc I recall driving my mom's car at 17 and fire and rain came on the radio. First time I heard it (wish I could go back to that day)

First song he sang to Paul and George was Something in the Way She Moves. One of his best still.

I didn’t like Paul’s tribute. He didn’t do much to honor James.
If you are 50. Beware no matter how healthy and rich you are, when you start climbing up past 65 n up, you become an old man it seems one odd day overnight. Enjoy your 50s and 60s because thats Gods twilight sale on your youth. Look how young McCartney looks here just 20 years ago.
I think aging effects us all differently. Genes, lifestyle etc.......personally I think 40-50 are the aging years, as I'm 47 and I still looked a kid at 40.
I think Paul actually looks pretty good even today!

james's music isn't overtly rock-sounding, more folk yet it has the rock spirit i think partly because it steadily presses forward it doesn't slow down quietly relentless

Not a fan of Paul's hair during this time. It have been his Heather period. For me, he looks best with more hair. Here he looks "scalped."

In fact, actual fact, at this particular event, before he went on, Eric Clapton had JT tune his guitar, cause he loves his talent so much, he wanted a JT tuned instrument -as Eric has said: "James is so pitch perfect, it's hard to comprehend...if you really listen to it"

@@onefoot7 they are in because they had an influence in/from rock and roll. Aretha deserves it, rock comes from blues and soul and mostly from black culture. ABBA had an important influence on europop and at the end of the day, rock comes from pop as well. Bob Marley is raggae and rock, he had an important influence on important rock music acts such as the police
