Remembered when you came to NYC for food tour. If I knew you had such deep Vietnamese roots would've advised you to visit Falls Church, Virginia in the state where there is a large Vietnamese community too with delicious food. Thanks for this terrific tour and intro to family.
Been following you guys for ages and this is my first time commenting. As a first generation aussie with all my family back in regional China this video was super relatable. From connecting to aunties by them teaching us how to peel fruit to seeing all the uncles red from head to neck from beer and their own homemade alcohol. The multigeneration homes, the memories old and new, seeing parents being so happy in their element. This is going to be a fantastic series not only for your fans but for you and your family present and future to look back on!
When you both look back on this in your old age, you'll remember these trips with your parents. Not always easy to travel with, but I've done a few big trips overseas with my mum that I don't regret for a minute, particularly now she's getting older, and I realise my time left with her and my father is finite. It makes me cry just thinking about it.
Your dad looks like such a sweet soul John, so sweet and just makes me smile when looking at him. I teared up seeing Dalena say hi to her family, she strong for not crying haha. And John saying dog in Vietnamese had me laughing so much haha
ngl this made me cry so much, missing my family in vietnam. thank you guys for sharing and including your families, such a beautiful sight and wish nothing but the best for you all. can't wait to come back to visit my family soon and for more vietnam vlogs! :D
This video made me very emotional. It's always great to have family reunions (especially with people that you haven't seen in a while)! Thank you for letting us have a glimpse into such a fantastic journey:)
The chaos of all the relatives yelling and hollering reminds me of my own family ahaha 🇰🇭 seeing Dalena reunite with her distant relatives had me a bit emotional, I haven’t been back to my homeland in 18 years!
I love seeing dalenas relationship with her family. Even though she hasn’t seen them in a while, there no awkwardness at all. Love seeing your parents blending in and having a good time too! Can’t wait for more
I just got back from visiting my family in Vietnam a couple of months ago and watching this brings back so many memories. It’s definitely feels different after a couple of years, so many things changes but the way of life is still the same
I am so excited for this series! Johnny, your father was cracking me up! Delana, thank you for introducing your family to us!! I cried a bit because I felt so emotional when you introduced us in the beginning of the video. It reminded me of meeting my extended family for the first time in my life when I was an adult. Thank you for this and I look forward to this series! Also, I love the cutlery sets I bought from you. I take them everywhere! The case is busted because I use them so much lol
This is a very special video series, you, Dalena and your families reuniting with relatives that you have not seen for ages is fantastic. Love you guys ❤
I really liked this! It was a different change of pace from your usual vlogs, but it was nice seeing you all connect with Dalena's relatives. Can't wait for the next part ❤
It’s so nice to watch you guys get to do this with them! I wanted to go with my dad back to Mexico to see where he grew up but he died from cancer before I had a chance to. Family is so important ❤
I moved to aust 10 years ago. This video makes me miss my aunties, uncles and cousins so much!! Each time I go back everyone’s growing older… you might not have a chance to see them again. So nice to see everyone having a great time. Thanks for sharing ❤
Loved this video so much! It was so nice to see your parents and her family interact and to see everyone so happy. Can't wait to see your side of the family 😂
hahaha man thanks for so many years of laughter, I remember the B+ video days till now. beautiful family and your dad is definitely a great character to be around with. take care, have fun. lots of love to both of you and Dalena
Really enjoyed the both of you and extended family’s taking us on a journey to your parents Homeland, honouring your ancestors in prayers of thanks, plus, trusting the food that was thrust upon you and enjoying as best as you could, thanks Very interesting
thanks for taking us along and showing us your trip visiting both sides of your families! the food looked amazing and i’m excited for the next parts of your trip!
🎉🎉It is very wholesome seeing family reconnecting after a long time apart😇😁. The amount of work and organizing of it all, must have been alot but doing this for your families makes it all too special❤ also including fans with warm and welcoming insight into local life. Very awesome video you guys cannot wait until the next upload. Much love, bless.😁
@Chonnyday aint it humbling to see what our parents did for us to get to Australia, how blessed we are to grow up in Aus and do what we do! I'm so glad y'all went back to visit family!! Bet they are so proud of you and Dalena!! Blessings
Thanks for sharing your family vlog ! You two are so tall amongst the family members. So cool that you two are bi-lingual . Now we see where Chonny got his humor from - his dad. Chonny "@16:53 my famiy is third-wheeling here . . " ( lol ) and ". . .@ 17:53 why am I at the ladies table . . . @20:00 enjoying my lunch with my girl friends , all the Ajummas " ( lol ) @21:24 Dalena trying to show us how to peel the "mango" ( lol ) Really liked and appreciate the commentary providing us with your perspectives and impressions.
This is crazy .. I've been watching your videos now for almost ten years and your dad still looks like what he used to back in the days during your Chong phase 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I loved watching this vlog so much ! It was so lovely to see how happy you all were to reunite with your family ❤ can't wait to see the rest of the vlogs
This video reminds me so much of my trip to India earlier this year in April. I’m a first gen American and going back in over 10 years showed me how much they value family and community in Asia. I did almost everything you guys did 😂 reunited with cousins uncles and aunties, saw my mom in her element with her relatives, ate the local foods, visited a temple in a huge van fitting my whole family for my grandma, “playing” with the stray dogs,… even that part about the rice paddies/farm land being turned into infrastructure was brought up in my visit. A very humbling and wholesome trip for sure! Hope you guys had a blast!
I'm not even half way done watching this vlog, and I'm all smiles. Funny how African, Asian and Eastern Europan culture's are literally the same when two young adults are planning on getting married and both families have to meet and talk and get to know each other and plan. Beautiful! Wish you both the best as you prepare❤🎉. I'm half West African and half Russian and I can relate well with your vlog. 😊
I was born in the US but my family is from Vietnam. I've only been there once a few years back but I hope to go back again soon. This made me realize how much I miss it. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the video. I grew up in this neighborhood, alley 190 (hẻm 190) on Sư Vạn Hạnh Street, and I still recognize a couple people of your family members, especially your uncle the one @ 2:08 who wears the plaid short-sleeved shirt. If I remember correctly, his name is Quang. The alley was referred to by 2 names, "hẻm trước" referring to the front end of the ally, and "hẻm sau" referring to the back end of the alley where your uncle's house is located.
Haha!! They way y’all clown on your parents and are always laughing is just like how we are with our Mexican family! It’s awesome, I feel like I’m at home watching you both!! Great content!!
