Hi there - jeez man sorry! I just read this and I guess you could take me as 'having a go' at your comment. I really wasn't - I was just in debate mode at the time. You are correct - it is up to a individuals interpretation - that's what makes music great!!! And I do agree with you - it does portray anxiety - of a certain kind - and my interpretation was also of failure by a single male at a certain age. And yes I can relate to that!!! (but not now - phew!! ;)
why, i do not kwow when this was shot, didn't we here in Holland more about Pulp? It has been merely Oasis, Blur and some others like Franz Ferdinand. Why not Pulp or for the best Supergrass? Or am I mixing times?
@ugotmatt Whyyy does youtube always have to be about argumentative comments? I never said there was nothing more to it, I just think that for me it portrays anxiety perfectly, people view song meanings depending on how it relates to them personally! And I haven't reached that 'certain age' yet ;) x
as someone who has anxiety, and fears that I let people down and that I'll never achieve success in my life, this song means a lot.
Wow, I can't believe how much this sounds like the album. What an excellent group of performers.
Pulp's 4 major labels albums and hits collection are amazing. Anyone who really likes music should check them out.
Great song. Great front man. Great back up singers. Amazing drummer.
when Jools Holland named Lenny fucking Kravitz I got The Fear for a sec.
Suchh a great song. The ultimate soundtrack to anxiety!
Their best album by far...
so much deeper and heavy than the others, a real masterpiece and a lot of people don't get that.
Lenny Kravitz and Air just got Pulperized.
They've got the fear for sure.
Maybe some air passed through their lungs

@guitaristroz I disgree - I think it's much deeper than that and I think Jarvis is talking about the realisation of failure at a certain age....
@mooney9013. This actually aired shortly after the release of "This is Hardcore" in early 1998!
Jarvis marry me x
