2015 Honda accord here. Altenator is reading 14.6 and 14,82. Replaced battery yesterday and still experiencing the electrical issues such as dimming lights and etc while driving. Battery reacts 12.5 and or 13.5. What could be the issue? Thanks
Dashboard Lights were flashing like crazy every light on the dashboard came in ,replaced the alternator and it still did the samething,I was told I need a PCM but u said ECM and there is a difference so I need to know which 1 do I actually get..I've had No problems with my vehicle stalking nor running bad so far just the overcharging..I'm just ready to order the part and get my car back on the Rd but I want to order the right part
Hello I have a 2005 Ford Escape 3.0L V6 limited 2wd. I am having issues with my battery overcharging still after first battery got to hot started spewing fluid and the issues below. I had recently gotten the battery a month prior. So since I didn't know what was exactly wrong I took it back and had it replaced. My vehicle ended up having the same kind of issues. Battery not boiling and spewing as before but seeming to get hot same smell as before. When I accelerate loss of dashboard lights no power for windows loss of radio windshield wipers turn signals etc. When I brake they come back on. Next morning car battery was dead so I ended up getting a jump and met the repair guy at the nearest Auto Zone 1.5 miles bought the alternator and serpentine belt he replaced it there everything seemed to be fine but oil was leaking so he suggested we also replace the valve cover gasket this Auto Zone didn't have the gasket so we drove to next nearest which was 4 miles away everything seemed fine but ended up having all the same issues still. Any ideas at all on what my issue may be ?? If it might be some kind of ground or maybe a certain wire cluster could you please tell me where they would be located. I will be very grateful. Thank you in advance and God Bless :0)
@@Top5AutoRepairs Thank You I will have the Auto Zone check this and I will respond back for further assistance if needed. I am a woman of 50 years I have some knowledge of repair experiences on vehicles but continuing to learn more along they way. Lol one issue at a time. :0)
I was sold a bad alternator will let you know further once I am able to pay to get another one put into again. Auto Zone wasn't able to tell me how many volts were running but if it was good or bad. Thank you for that lead. Have a good day :0)
Hi I have a high output alternator and is overcharging the battery to 17 volts . Can it be the voltage regulator in the alternator or the alternator itself that's bad
Very nice informative video. I have. Subaru forester 2008 model Manuel transmission Now my battery is licking and the mechanic says it overcharging that is why it brings some bubbles outside and cause the licking. I didn’t check the alternator I don’t know how much bolt it sends. But the mechanics told me the battery is overcharging that is why it creates those bubbles coming out. What can be the cause? Which thing should I change : the battery or the alternator?
2003 VW Rialta (eurovan) v6 Power loss both electrical and mechanical when accelerating. I think the alternator regulator (reads 13-14v at idle, but up to 18v under throttle) is overcharging and causing the gauges, ac, and everything to bog down. I do notice the more things that are turned on the better it runs, guessing from the extra current draw. just wanting to know if anyone has experience with an over charging alternator and does it cause power loss?

thought my battery was dead, jumped it, put a multimeter on it while running. 15.8volts..... .so bad. pretty sure the voltage regulator fried the battery lol

Hey there. Have you checked the alternator to see how much voltage it is putting out? 15 volts and more is overcharging.

Did you fix the situation?
Very informative advice and good practical observations which are essential for the ordinary diyer.
Sir upon checking using voltmeter it range 14.9-15.1v is it okay ? If its not what will be the posible to replace I.C or alternator..? Thankss
What did you do about your problem and was it a problem or not? Because I have the same problem

@@AngkolDiYTv same case in my i20 2011. It's giving 14.8 at idle rpm. And I am not facing any issues.
Acceptable range is 14.2 to 15.2.
That's it.
I replaced my alternator

18 volts is too high. The regulator is faulty.

ECU causing the alternator to overcharge? I have never heard of that before.
My alternator is charging at 14.9 new battery from toyota is that too much? No other symptoms.
The alternator should be at 13.5V anything over 13.5V will overcharge the battery and damaging it.
Mine does the same thing
Depends, AGM batteries need that voltage
13-14 volts is typical for a charging range, arrange for overcharging would be 15 to 16 V and more
I have a cadillac escalade and it is charging at 14.9 is that bad and what would that mean
Bought a cheap battery and my alternator blew and I changed it but still have problems. Now I know I need to buy a bigger more one. Thanks
when i start car voltage starts at 16 volts then settles to 14.2 after about a minute is that ok or bad alternator
Any issues?
It's in the Band Aid. It was helpful though... 👍😊😮
My issue is the opposite. The battery sucked in. what is that problem?
I changed everything and still showing overload except the battery is 80 v and it should be 70 just shall i change it or there's another problem.??
My Odyssey had an o2 code. It was the battery. Smelled like eggs. Smoked the alt. belt. New battery fixed it.
What if it's at 14 point 82 is that okay or no and that is the vehicle running
It's acceptable
@@Top5AutoRepairs thanks for the info i put in a new alternator in my Trailblazer 05 and I wasn't sure what the voltage is supposed to be

So do I replace alternator??? Is my main question

But if i start it like 10am in the morning it's normal
What to do my battery +have corrosion Someone tell me its alternator overcharging 😢
My dodge is throwing out 13.4 on idle with a new battery 🤔
thought my battery was dead, jumped it, put a multimeter on it while running. 15.8volts..... .so bad. pretty sure the voltage regulator fried the battery lol
Then you changed battery? or changing alternator solved the problem
My is on 16.7
So pretty much replace the alternator lol
Is what my question is too??
