Sort of. The OT mainly used Kendo as the inspiration for the choreography while the prequels have more Chinese fencing in the duels. Most likely because Chinese martial arts were very popular in Hollywood at the time.

No disrespect Rest In Peace to your grandpa but he was dumb for that 😭😂 you HAVE to watch them in order, no excuses, your grandpa ruined Star Wars for you lmfao
The prequel duels will always be my favorite but I appreciate The Force Awaken's sound and how raw it seemed. You can really see the difference in training. Almost flawless lightsaber technique in the prequels and it fades as time goes on. Makes sense.
If Mace Windu had to go down, I’m glad he did while knowing he beat the Sith Lord and eventual Emperor. Without Skywalker being there, Windu would have been the hero of the story.
@@csmith3248 What George Lucas says isn’t really canon anymore. He’s also the same one who said that the lack of living tissue results in a lower connection to the force but that was disproven even before the new canon.
@@yggunshot8402 Back then George Lucas was the owner anything he said was canon I don’t care if Disney change it Mace Windu won because of his fighting technique called “Vapaad” which allows Windu to use the dark side users emotions against them, Mace Windu was the ultimate Sith destroy with that technique
I like the OG duels. They are slow, methodical and convey a lot with not much flash. But the absolute best is definitely Anakin vs Obi-Wan. It's flashy, bombastic and full of raw emotions. It perfectly encapsulates the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker and his fall to the dark side. It remains the absolute best Star Wars lightsaber duel.
I think -personally- that the best lightsaber duel is Obi-wan vs Anakin. The choreography is really impressive. But so is Duel of the Fates. Luke vs Vader is great too due to the emotional value…
My top 5 duels: 5. Count Dooku vs everyone on Genosis (mainly due to the excellent lighting of Anakin and Dooku’s faces from the sabers, and it being the first time we see Yoda fight) 4. Luke vs Vader in Ep. 6 (score and story implications are excellent, plus I love the green and black ensemble Luke has) 3. Luke vs Vader in Ep. 5 (once again score and story is there, but the fighting style and use of the force raises this one to top 3 and could be my top 1 depending on the day) 2. Obi Wan and Qui Gon vs Maul (this is probably my favorite pure fight but the story isn’t as impactful as some of the others. Duel of the fates is still one of the greatest scores of all time) 1. Obi Wan vs Anakin (say what you will about the prequels, the emotions throughout this fight are very present and the choreography is second to none. Possibly the strongest story implications of any fight scene and the birth of Darth Vader make this my personal favorite fight, though any of the top 3 are hard to separate for me)
My list is very similar, I go back and forth on whether I like episode 1 or episode 3’s fight more but both are excellent. Count dooku vs the Jedi is very underrated as well, that’s a fun fight.
7:36 The council: *went through years of training and experience and makes it to a point to prove themselves* Darth Sidious: *Cuts through them like butter*
The prequel duels makes the most sense because the lightsabers are't heavy, so that allows you to move them really fast and with not much strength you can hurt the opponent with the slightest hit
Meanwhile in the sequels they swing their lightsabers like they weigh as much as a sledgehammer despite supposedly being highly trained and skilled warriors.
the hilts themselves are heavy, but the blades are light in comparison so they make the most sense if we want to make our anchient space wizard fights more "realistic"
17:08 one of the most important duels in Star Wars history, without a doubt! The scene is so powerful and the soundtrack is absolutely touching! What a scene!! I always get emotional!
Technically and artistically, the duel between Anakin and Obi Wan in RotS is simply the best. RotJ has the most emotion, but the technical artistry in RotS is unmatched.
Fun fact: the lava in the background was based off a real volcano that erupted that year, George Lucas sent a team on location to record footage for it.
I like to think it was made to cut through beskar more efficiently since it was made by a mandalorian but I don't know for sure how he would be able to do that lol
You can really see the difference in the choreography between each trilogy. The prequels are fast-paced and acrobatic, the OT is steady and cautious, and the sequels are slow and powerful.
@@DefecTec You really expect people like Rey and Finn, who have had no Jedi training, to fight like prime Jedi? That’s why they fight the way they do. It was both of their first time with a saber.
You mean Jedi sitting meetings, Senate meetings, psychological meeting with Anakin and Padmé staring from her apartment into wild blue yonders? :D Or action in action scenes? :D
25:00 while I don’t like to compliment this movie, it did show the difference in abilities of Kylo and Rey very well. They’re both naturally strong in the force due to their bloodlines, but Kylo truly knows how to wield a lightsaber. He knows when to strike and when not to. He knows how to conserve his energy. Rey doesn’t. And he abuses this and wins the duel... well... should have won it
@@CapCody Yes, prequels. I'd rather have a lightsaber fight that actually means something and is slow and cautious than have some people spin their sabers in a fancy way for 5 minutes.
Whenever obi wan duels with someone on his side like anakin or qui gon, he acts as a distraction, mostly feinting or attacking his opponent to open them up for his partner. Its a cool thing i noticed lol
You can tell how the prequel fights all of the Jedi have unique fighting styles like how windu and anakin are 90% offense while obi wan is more defensive but in the sequels it’s just people throwing lazar swords around
From a story perspective, the lightsaber duels in the original trilogy make sense as to why they’re so slow and not as elegant as the prequels. There wasn’t really any Jedi left to teach Luke how to properly fight with one and Vader was held back due to bionics. Meanwhile, when the Jedi Order was still intact, there were plenty of lightsaber styles to learn and people to learn from
Yes, he was slower due to bionics. But he was way stronger too. Anakin was 1,88m and Vader was 2,03m. His feelings toward his son held him back. But yeah, Luke wasn't very well trained. As the main character from Jedi Fallen Order.
@@jean-pierrepolnareff7334 Exactly my point. It’s true that Vader had to rely solely on strength because he lacked speed, but Cal Kestis from Fallen Order is a perfect example of what proper Jedi training can look like
@@scum0320 I'd like to had that Cal Kestis isn't really "the perfect" example. For the only reason that his fighting style is midway between Jedi training and self-defense. He got some very unusual move sets. It's visible with the finish moves, very brutal and raw, closer to a Sith fighting style than a Jedi fighting style. But he got some very skillfull move sets too, like the move when you get from one bladed to double bladed Lightsaber, which is very impressive. So yeah, Cal Kestis is closer to a Jedi fighting style than Luke. But he's still pretty far from Anakin or Obi-wan fighting style !
@@jean-pierrepolnareff7334 that’s true. I might’ve just worded it wrong. Anakin and Obi-Wan are the perfect examples since they are the most skilled of all Jedi right beneath Yoda. I think Cal is more of an average example, instead of a perfect one
As I've grown older I've grown fond of the original trilogy. There is so much more emotion in these duels, but there is nothing quite like Luke and Vader's last duel.
Personally, best scenes were EP. 3 (fight in mustafar), EP. 5 (Father vs. Son) and EP. 6 (Father vs. Son (ii)).... Special Mention: Last EP. of Clone Wars (Master vs. Student). Sequels tried, but failed.
Facts. The duels in those films were gritty and brutal. The best thing about both Luke vs Vader fights is how in empire, he doesn’t know it’s his father. And then in episode 6 when he breaks and gives into his fear for a brief moment
@@MichaelEDemuro Yes, the soundtrack matching his strikes of rage. Obi-Wan vs Anakin will always be my fav for show, but ROTJ in terms of moving the plot, always on top.
Best I think is the duel on Bespin. It is honestly in my opinion the most iconic duel and the most iconic moment in Star Wars as it includes arguably the biggest reveal in movie history. It also was the first to incorporate Kendo which revolutionized how lightsaber duels would look moving forward. And most importantly, it perfectly capitalizes on how terrifying Vader truly is. No music needed. No over the top flips or kicks. Perfectly balanced.
I love how Rey was so aggressive and she’s the Jedi, and ben is the calm one and he was meant to be the sith, like you can clearly tell both of them were in denial
When I was a kid I had lightsabers and I always wanted to do cool flips. Or be like Yoda or darth maul, nothing has changed, I'm just older and have no one with a lightsaber willing to do so
Never noticed before an interesting parallel between Ep III's duel in lava (9:01) and Ep IX's duel in water (25:02) - both are storming oceans of a primordial element and in keeping with the nature of each (fire destroys while water gives life) both duels result in metaphorical death and birth. The lava ultimately leads to the death of Anakin Skywalker and birth of Darth Vader, and the water duel leads to the death of Kylo Ren and the birth (or rather rebirth) of Ben Solo. Great job editing all these together!
For another perpendicular: the ep3 duel keeps me on edge every time I watch it while the ep9 duel literally made me doze off. I can feel it trying to harvest the nostalgia (like JJ did at every possible point of the sequels) but it just doesn't work.
@@jisalt339 You're talking about toxic but Padme still loved Anakin despite all the shit he did in Episode 3. Obi Wan tells her that anakin murdered kids and she still wants him so... 🤷
I love how its highly competent duels in the prequels, to limited technology but impressive duels in the original, to children swinging heavy sticks in the sequels
Fun fact, during the Obi Wan vs Maul duel (after Qui Gon died), Ewan McGregor commented on how these two were moving so fast, they actually had to slow down the footage to try and make it look more believable. So in reality, those two are so fast against one another, that it looks fake.
The choreography in the Prequels actually resembles real-life swordplay, with most of the attacks being a turn or flick of the wrist, with the fighters maintaining their sabers in front of their bodies. Not to mention they just look fucking cool and I find the cinematography charming. The fighters look balanced and graceful, and the swings are actually directed at their target, and don’t obviously miss my a mile. The over-the-top flourishes are actually cool and well-done and have purpose, and make you feel like you’re really watching a battle between two insanely skilled, Force-wielding warriors. The sequels are so bad by comparison. Huge wind-ups leaving the fighter immensely venerable with every single swing followed by massive forward leaning and overcommitment, plus a ridiculous amount of annoying screaming from Rey for no reason. Great CGI aside, the actual choreography is a huge eyesore compared to the fights in the prequels and even the OT (minus Obi-Wan vs Vader, of course).
Ehh not really. They definitely look cool but the idea that their movements have any basis in what a lightsaber duel would look like is not true. Spinning your saber around doesn’t serve any purpose. If anything real sword fighting actually looks more like the sequels due to the fact they actually direct their hits at each other, and they have weight and force behind them
Luke vs Vader in episode 6 will always be my favourite. There's just so much going on emotionally and the coreography is good. Plus seeing the emperor having a blast while watching them fight is so great!!!
I like that fight apart from when Luke is hiding and then loses his shit, for a few moments he's just swinging around aimlessly like a complete nutter, not the best choreography for that part but I love the rest
Great compilation. The only one you're missing is Obi-Wan & Anakin versus Grievous' Magnaguards in ROTS. Technically the guards use electrostaffs, but I noticed you included a couple of duels with alternate weapons, so I thought I'd mention it. There's also the staff duel between Finn and Phasma, but that one has no lightsabers.
The fight between Rey and Kylo was dog shit. That wasn't even a fight, such a huge disappointment in Starwars history stg. Dooku training Grievous was more intense then that bs lmaooooo the only good thing about those movies is bringing Sidious back that shit gave me goosbumps to the brain

I just saw a comment talking about this, but here's a summary. In the prequels there were many Jedi and so many different lightsaber styles and many masters to learn from. In the original trilogy, the are almost no different masters, only Yoda and Obi One. Since they are both old (No offence to old people), they couldn't teach all of the techniques and styles of lightsaber battles. In summary, the slower battles in the original trilogy make sense to the storyline.
@@Mini_Person2911 I don’t think so and you know why? Luke became Jedi Knight in 6-th episode purely after training with Obi-Wan’s force ghost. Obi-Wan could’ve taught him different fighting styles easily. Also in the universe of SW there’re Jedi/Sith holocrons, which are in fact data storages for force users. Want to give them good choreography? Introduce holocron and take 2-3 year pause in the timeline between movies.
@@szharychev Even if that's so, they didn't have enough time to teach all of these different styles. In the prequel age, Jedi would start out as younglings, learning from a very young age. Luke had way less time, and had to learn swiftly. But if you watch The Mandolorian, you can see that Luke's skills do get better after the trilogy is over, probably from more training with Obi One. Obi Wan didn’t even need to use his lightsaber, he could have just Force Pushed Anakin off into the lava 6:12 Anakin literally stops mid swing while Dooku is occupied 7:41 Sidious pauses momentarily with his blade in Kolar, and the other 3 just… watches? 11:19 Obi Wan does a slow ballet spin, and Vader just stands there with his lightsaber down
In Star Wars lightsaber battles you and your opponents both can anticipate strikes through the force Logically thinking if you know your opponent can predict you you would not attack so boldly Maul vs obi and qui-gon He was facing two people if he attacked one he would be in the risk of being attacked by the other, and even if he attacked the would be ready to block Obiwan cuts maul It was not stated clearly in the movie but maul was being cocky and was completely surprised by obiwan when he leaped higher than what he was capable of by channelling his emotions momentarily Anakin vs obiwan Obiwan swung at his leg and missed obviously Like the maul vs o and q you don’t know whether they would strike right after they land Obiwan was playing caution by retreating to the far side and swinging at a lower angle But anakin also happened to have landed at the other edge so the swing missed Obiwan and anakin vs Dooku Slight choreography problems here Still despite that small flaw anakin was supposed to play cautious Sidious vs four masters Sidious used a dark side force technique called force scream A Force scream was usually an involuntary Force exertion manifested by those whose alignment was with the dark side of the Force but could be used on command. It was a scream, of strong frustration, rage, or grief, emitted through the Force. Blah blah he might let out an enraged scream (amplified through the Force) that triggered shock waves that rippled through the Force. This caused devastation to any that were unfortunate enough to be in proximity. Like many dark side Force powers, it allowed the user to use powerful negative emotions as a weapon, albeit involuntarily in this case. Something like that They were stunned/ petrified by the emotions fear/anger amplified by the dark side and sent by the scream Obiwan vs Vader Jeez obiwan might be a capable fighter but the actor was literally 62 give him a break
Think of it this way. I can't talk about lightsaber fuels but I can talk about real fighting. If you try and capitalise every time your opponent has an opening then you're going to be very vulnerable and could get baited very easy. This would be magnified in a lightsaber fuel unlike in a real fight where you just get punched or kicked, you lose your arm or get decapitated
5:16 that funny Yoda death sound from Lego Star Wars the complete saga LOL edit: you forgot to include the Luke skywalker versus Darth Vader battle on Dagobu even though it’s Luke’s vision it still counts
The prequel actors are so awesome. They will spend weeks or months to make their lightsaber duels look awesome, unlike the sequels where they swing it like a baseball bat
Luke Vs Darth Vader is, anakin Vs obi wan sucked. George Lucas tried way too hard to make an over the top intensely choreographed fight. The result is a dual that goes on for about three times as long as it should be, is shoehorned onto some of the most absurdly idiotic set pieces in movie history, and lacks almost any of the emotional weight that the duals in the original trilogy had.
@@theplinko9840 ironic because the Luke vs Vader fight sucked in terms of actual fighting. Doesn't have good enough choreography. The only reason you think it's good is the emotion and nostalgia for OT fanboys since it was one of the first SW movies. Emotion isn't the only thing that makes up a fight. The fight became even worse when Luke somehow forgot all his training and started yeeting his lightsaber everywhere. And before you say that was anger, Anakin was literally epitome of anger when he fought Obi-Wan for the first time and yet his skills weren't as rash as Luke's at that time
@@willisstillhere8846 as someone who watched all 6 movies in a relatively similar time frame, I can guarantee you that the reason I say Luke Vs Vader is a better fight is because it legitimately is. Anakin Vs Obi-Wan was an awful fight. It had decent choreography at first but overall lacked any sort of nuance in their movement. There was no story being told, no tension rising. It was just 2 grown men flinging around laser swords in increasingly stupid set pieces. I’m guessing based on your comment that the Luke Vs Vader fight you’re referring to is the one in Return of the Jedi, and while that is definitely the lesser of the 2 major fights between the 2, it’s still leagues better than anything in the prequels. The dialogue alone makes it a far more interesting, story driven, emotional fight. The nuance in Luke’s movement actually tells a story, unlike Anakins “angry fighting” which is literally the same as his normal fighting. It’s not over the top absurd acrobatics on robots flying over lava. It’s a thoughtful, cinematic, emotional story, and that alone makes the Luke Vs Vader fight actually have a purpose in the movie. It’s not about seeing 2 people fight, it’s about why they’re fighting and how they’re feeling while doing it.
I love all of them for different reasons. Prequels feel so complex, originals feel so realistic, and the sequels convey such raw emotion. It's just all so fun and I've learned a lot from just watching these fights.

Right? You really feel the impact of each hit, and each hit feels like it has meaning, whereas the prequel fights often just feel flashy for the sake of being flashy.
Not to mention they are a bit more realistic cause there is a period of slowness where they size each other up maybe try to get a cheeky little hit and then boom one strikes the other parry’s and ripostes and so on as someone doing fencing I noticed so much more than before like little things such as how one opponent was toying with the other or how one would do a little disengage
@@TechnologicallyTechnical it makes sense that they were much faster in the prequels. The Jedi Order was likely at its height while the Sith were in the shadows, it was high priority to kill each other, it was a giant struggle for power, it was all business and politics, straight forward and flashy like politics. But the originals were about pure love, battle between real good and real evil, father and son, neither wanted to end the other.
Obi wan Kenobi vs Anakin is one of the best duels ever. Hayden and Ewan were literally asked to slow down their movements because they were performing the choreography so fast it became a blur. Just shows how serious they were

It perfectly encapsulates the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker and his fall to the dark side. It remains the absolute best Star Wars lightsaber duel.

My top 5 duels:
5. Count Dooku vs everyone on Genosis (mainly due to the excellent lighting of Anakin and Dooku’s faces from the sabers, and it being the first time we see Yoda fight)
4. Luke vs Vader in Ep. 6 (score and story implications are excellent, plus I love the green and black ensemble Luke has)
3. Luke vs Vader in Ep. 5 (once again score and story is there, but the fighting style and use of the force raises this one to top 3 and could be my top 1 depending on the day)
2. Obi Wan and Qui Gon vs Maul (this is probably my favorite pure fight but the story isn’t as impactful as some of the others. Duel of the fates is still one of the greatest scores of all time)

@@gaurohtar895 that's insane.
Same thing with Obi-Wan Vs Anakin but this time almost the whole fight.
From a story perspective, the lightsaber duels in the original trilogy make sense as to why they’re so slow and not as elegant as the prequels. There wasn’t really any Jedi left to teach Luke how to properly fight with one and Vader was held back due to bionics. Meanwhile, when the Jedi Order was still intact, there were plenty of lightsaber styles to learn and people to learn from
And obi wan was lid so he was a little slowex

Ok cool but why do they spin in the prequels? That's literally a disadvantage, not realistic whatsoever.

Fights dumbed down from both the prequels and originals

8:32 Yoda vs Darth Sidious is the perfect example of the light vs the dark.
Yeah because it's the ultimate jedi against the ultimate sith
You know, for being “All the Jedi”, Rey seems to get super angry all the time.
She's no jedi to me. And the disney star wars sequels are non Canon in my mind
She didn't even go through any training she's a mary sue
@@Raven-gx4kj she was force sensitive, she probably already knew how to use a lightsaber
@@iamacowboysfan9571 OK. Luke and Anakin were both force sensitive and they needed extensive training to use a light Saber and the force
@@iamacowboysfan9571 leia was force sensitive and she never even used a lightsaber except for a brief flash back
For me being a kid and watching The Originals in the theater, When Yoda pulled out his lightsaber and started fighting was like the greatest thing ever I remember everybody whistling and clapping in the theater
This is my personal opinion but the greatest lightsaber duels in the entire saga are
1. Luke Vs Vader (ROTJ
2. Obi Wan Vs Anakin (ROTS
3. Luke Vs Vader (ESB
Love this list, I would personally put Obi Wan and Qui Gon vs Maul up there because of how badass it was but the gravity of Vader revealing he is Lukes father probably outweighs it.
Vader fights very bad and boring in the saga
You're not objective dude !! How can you said Vador vs Luke it's the best ?? Even better than Maul vs Obi-Wan ? I know it's your opinion but it's physicaly impossible !!
@@Ay02100 its probably because of how important that fight was to the whole series, thats when he found out Vader was his dad, that wouldve “broke the internet”. The choreography wasnt as good of course but it changed everything
heyhey what about obi-wan vs anakin from 3?
EDIT: nvm im a fucking dumbass
Anyone else notice how much waiting around there is during these duels?
1:24 Maul just stands there when he could have taken at least one of them the way Obi Wan took Anakin
3:40 Maul tracks Obi Wan but his ignited lightsaber remain down when with a simple flick of the wrist, Obi Wan would be landing directly into his blade
10:46 Anakin is clearly off balance, but Obi Wan graciously waits for him to regain his balance. Obi Wan didn’t even need to use his lightsaber, he could have just Force Pushed Anakin off into the lava
6:12 Anakin literally stops mid swing while Dooku is occupied
7:41 Sidious pauses momentarily with his blade in Kolar, and the other 3 just… watches?
11:19 Obi Wan does a slow ballet spin, and Vader just stands there with his lightsaber down
In Star Wars lightsaber battles you and your opponents both can anticipate strikes through the force
Logically thinking if you know your opponent can predict you you would not attack so boldly
Maul vs obi and qui-gon
He was facing two people if he attacked one he would be in the risk of being attacked by the other, and even if he attacked the would be ready to block
Obiwan cuts maul
It was not stated clearly in the movie but maul was being cocky and was completely surprised by obiwan when he leaped higher than what he was capable of by channelling his emotions momentarily
Anakin vs obiwan
Obiwan swung at his leg and missed obviously
Like the maul vs o and q you don’t know whether they would strike right after they land
Obiwan was playing caution by retreating to the far side and swinging at a lower angle
But anakin also happened to have landed at the other edge so the swing missed
Obiwan and anakin vs Dooku
Slight choreography problems here
Still despite that small flaw anakin was supposed to play cautious
Sidious vs four masters
Sidious used a dark side force technique called force scream
A Force scream was usually an involuntary Force exertion manifested by those whose alignment was with the dark side of the Force but could be used on command.
Something like that
They were stunned/ petrified by the emotions fear/anger amplified by the dark side and sent by the scream
Obiwan vs Vader
Jeez obiwan might be a capable fighter but the actor was literally 62 give him a break
its just plot armour really
@@mizu4305 i always thought obi wan waited for anakin to regain his balance for a fair fight, but then again the quote "i will do what i must"
@@mizu4305 to add on to this for Sidious all were effected but Mace because he puts about 75% of his force powers into force shield
Lets be honest,Anakin vs obi wan and Luke vs Darth Vader is a masterpiece...
True.
But I mean the one on Cloud City where Luke loses his hand
True my guy.
You’re a good fan. I love seeing people just love all the movies and having a good time watching them. Good on you ^^
The best fans love all star wars get not everything is perfect wish the new ones was a bit better but I don't hate them the lightsaber fights had potential but think fell abit flat best one was in 9 with all the water other then there team up in 8
All star wars movies are great because star wars is star wars, but the sequels are the only thing im slightly dissapointed about
Yeah I love all of them equally! I never focus on the writing. Like ever! I just am in the heat of the moment watching the graphics and not worrying about anything! Thats why I like the sequals so much! Whole new set of characters designs for things and it gets me hyped! And I'm never disappointed! They all have something new! And I'm excited for the new ones this year! Whole new set of designs and graphics and fights in store! Super pumped to see the beginning of a new saga this year!
@@Sumducky Yeah, I'm excited especially to see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen back on screen together.
Anyone now realizing that finn held his own pretty well with a lightsaber
Yeah, I’m pretty sure there is a theory where Finn is actually force sensitive but has never been trained and recognised as a force user therefore limiting his potential.
@@sigma_is_op7970 It was confirmed by JJ that he is force sensitive.
Honestly I was hoping that the story followed him as a forced sensitive storm trooper, instead we got Rey who turned out to be a palpatine

Dooku: "You have no technique."
She fights like every kid pretending in their backyard. Don’t get me wrong, I love the actors, the acting is good. The characters are meh, and the writing is terrible.
When I was a kid I really wanted to see these light saber duels move much faster and be more elaborate, however as I get older I realize just how eloquent and intentional the original duels between Luke and Vader really were.
@@417Owsy You have to understand, I really, really don't care that much about Star Wars lore.
Obi wan Kenobi vs Anakin is one of the best duels ever. Hayden and Ewan were literally asked to slow down their movements because they were performing the choreography so fast it became a blur. Just shows how serious they were
My favorites battles visually. Qui gon and obi wan vs maul and rey and kylo vs guards. But in general luke vs vader are my favorites
The lightsabers in the sequels, especially Kylo's lightsaber, look so heavy.
I actually like that detail
As in the prequels especially they look so light and easy to just swing around
Another detail I like in the sequels is that the characters get physically tired, where as in the other trilogies it feels like they can do this almost all day
@@axtagran7504 the jedi in the prequels were under proper training by proper masters, im certain cardio and stamina were a crucial part of jedi training; e.g football (soccer) players train their cardio and stamina, not just their ability to play football
+Jimmy The Grunt Lucas originally intended for the lightsaber blades to be really heavy due to how much energy they contain, so that's very much intentional and a really nice attention to detail. A lot of people like to unconditionally shit on the sequels, but there's some really admirable things in them and some great attention to detail that deserves praise.
Can't say I'm a big fan of sequel lightsaber fights. I know they didn't have the right training but man they look like swinging baseball bats compared to other duels. Kylo is especially guilty of this since he actually had training.
@@enlightenmentdoesntcomeeas5337 cause the spinning for 3 seconds was so good in rots just ur a biased fuck head

17:09 something about this scene is absolutely incredible, the amazing score by John Williams, the shot of the two fighting while the camera rolls behind the staircase. Everything about that scene man, its something else.
Thank you for making this video! Also very smart to put all of them in chronological order.
My favorites have to be:
9:00 Anakin VS. Obi-Wan from Revenge Of The Sith
18:26 Ashoka VS. Morgan from The Mandalorian
25:01 Rey VS. Kylo Ren from The Rise Of Skywalker
1:20 when your boy Ewan finishes.

I like how vader gives luke a slightly fair fight by only using one hand.
Maybe he did it intentionally. He wasn't trying to kill Luke rather try to turn him to the dark side
@@martinayala5073 I know, but he could've done the same with both hands right?
