Know a lot of people didn’t like Kenobi, but it showed how brutal Anakin was in the flashback scene during order 66, and it also showed how brutal Vader is. Him snapping that kids neck made me squirm 😂
True. And the Clones still respected him as a Senator, referring to him as "sir", and not shooting at him even when he was running away at the sight of a "Jedi traitor" getting killed. Even they knew he wasn't aware of the situation.
Even Count Dooku wouldn't kill the younglings, which is why Palpatine had Anakin kill him because he didn't trust him. There was still light in the Count, Palpatine knew it. Tales of the Jedi illustrates this well. The Jedi were blinded by their own arrogance. Dooku tells them the truth from the beginning, but they didn't want to believe it.

The scene they originally filmed was more involved and had him driving his lightsaber through her neck in order to break Dralig, but Lucas deemed it was too violent, so we only get that fragment of it in the recording.

He killed the gate keeper , believe it or not he had the art of surprise on his side . he also had some inside help , the head inquisitor who was the head Jedi guard at the time took down the temple guards before they could realize what was happening. Masters like shaak-ti were in deep meditation trying to figure out what was going on . and the other Jedi just went about their business
Putting aside the Disney explanation, the EU explained why there was no immediate response: During the Battle of Coruscant, the Jedi Temple was left largely unguarded and thus attacked, so afterwards protocol was put in place where Clones could be moved to guard the Temple should a threat be suspected. Also the Jedi were not to stop or interact with their clones, in the same way you wouldn't stop and chat with a soldier in an active warzone - let them do their job. Given the person at the front, clearly visible to all, was well-known Jedi legend Anakin Skywalker (who was attached to the Chancellor and so it'd make sense he'd be serving as a liaison between the Jedi and clone guards), everything seemed to make sense until it was too late. Perhaps if a bit more time had passed people would start asking questions, but they never got the chance. Remember, the Jedi lived in the reality of war, and when you're living that, you stop questioning quite as many things - especially when everything SEEMS to be following normal protocl.

Obviously it makes sense for it all to be told from the jedi perspective, but imagine being a Clone trooper walking into a temple of warrior monks with super human reflexes and strength with literally your only hope at being able to beat one is overwhelming them, but you're forced to take a more sporadic approach to try and catch them off guard, putting yourself in more danger in the process
By that time their biochips had been activated and tampered with and they didn't waltz into the Jedi temple with fear and uncertainty, but with pure hatred and genocidal intent against any and all Jedi apart from Anakin himself.

@@sandercohen9712 We've seen with cases like commander howzer that clones don't necessarily become mindless human droids devoid of emotion after the chip activates, what's more likely is that it affects the part of the brain associated with obedience and docileness which is separate from that which controls emotions meaning they would march into their death without question but would be just as afraid as you or I, which is the really horrifying part about it
@@seandonntheg8433 From what I gathered without the inhibitor chip the clones were uncontrollably, almost suicidally aggressive, like bees defending a hive. There are of course exceptions like you mentioned, clones maintained a significant part of their humanity. Ultimately we are probably both right and wrong given that the SW universe has so many fingers in the pot. It's a bit like Warhammer and the cant's and can's the Space Marines are capable of. Ultimately perhaps the Emperor could have simply thrown more troops at the problem, which evidently was not necessary since the clones dealt with most of the jedis except 2-3. I would have understood your argument better if the clones were just regular recruits, like the vast majority of the Stormtroopers were of the Galactic Empire were. In this case though? They were def created for purposes such as these. I don't really see a huge difference between a massive army of clones engaging a relatively small contingent of jedis, or an armada of battle droids. The 501st had years of experience and them entering the temple wasn't exactly their baptism of fire. They were used to being outnumbered, now the reverse was true.
But instead we live in the times where Disney can’t even get an animated ad right. (There’s a video where Yoda and Obi Wan attack the clones at the temple, and they all wear phase 1 armor).
the jedi woman who is trying to defend the younglings had the coolest moves ever in all star wars movies... you can literally see how she is jumping in front of every shot towards the little ones. melted my freakin nerd heart...
If those are the coolest moves you’ve seen you haven’t watched the prequels I can’t stand how Disney does lightsabers she’s swinging it so slow light it has so much weight to it it’s so bad
That was Deborah Chow in an uncredited cameo- she also cameos as a New Republic Pilot in The Mandalorian and was the director of a few episodes in the same show. She also was the main director for Kenobi.
Wow...this hits hard. Especially when you see the look of horror on the younglings faces when Anakin enters. They no doubt sensed the darkside in him. They probably were not even sure what they were feeling.
Especially when we remember that, thanks to the ROTS novelization, Anakin's darkness was represented by a dragon that constantly whispers: "All things die, Anakin Skywalker. Even stars burn out."
4:16 is the most heartbreaking. The children having lost their teacher, provided with hope of leaving... only to encounter the one Jedi Master they adored and revered... to eventually slaughter them. The music in the background aids in epitomizing the regret and betrayal we all feel during those 15 seconds in this video.
Agreed that’s why most see them as two entities, Basically everything Anakin did under the influence of the dark side is one entity and what he did under the influence of the light side is another Vader nearly killed Anakin, and eventually Anakin killed Vader

But that's the thing about the dark side. Sidious ordered Anakin (Vader) to do the most horrible thing possible to become strong enough in the dark side. And Anakin had a noble cause of becoming strong in the dark side, saving his wife. Anakin had to turn towards the sith lord for his originally good intentions. He had no choice. The jedi could not only not help him, but the opposite. The jedi outright condemned Anakin loving his wife and even being with her. The same jedi order that thinks has the right to condemn the sith for this, when they abduct and brainwash these children to mold them into perfect emotionless soldiers. The jedi also took these children's lives. The morality questions presented here, although presented as a story for children, are beyond complex.

@@DOORKNOOB Yes, I completely agree. The Chosen One was very widely spoken about. Likely the surprise was the betrayal. To add onto CASONA's point. I don't think it was general knowledge who the Sith were. Seeing all these clips together is so much more of an emotional impact. Even just with ROTS alone, the music gets me teary (almost). But in full? It's so much worse.
There really needs to be one more movie between Episode 2 and 3 that was really seriously showing the war and its consequences on the alleged peacekeeper and child soldier generals. The Clone Wars series did some good in this department
They really need to remake some of The Clone Wars in live-action, I'm pretty sure no one would complain about the cast being older as they certainly didn't on Andor or Better Call Saul ⚖️.
Damn, the aim of the Clone troopers was amazing. Changing over to Stormtroopers was sadly a huge mistake. Also, the fact that the Jedi had a camera in the Chancellor's office shows their duplicitous intent.
I didn't like how in kenobi, lightsabers seemed more like glowing baseball bats, the first 2 kills in the kenobi sequence both seem unphased by the first hit the jedi gave them, only dropping their weapons and staggering a bit, only the second hit kills them, in the hallway every clone takes 1 hit but there is no mark showing that they had been cut, and before anyone says, no that wouldn't be changing the rating, anyway I'm unsure of this but at one point in the hallway she deflects a shot which presumably kills 2 troopers at once, again unsure, I think the other death was covered from view, the jedi master then proceeds to take 2 shots, reva takes a saber to the chest twice in her life and that poor kid on the landing platform died from a blaster bolt ROTS to this day has just about everything star wars needs at this point
Possibly the issue between using CGI and actors. In the prequels every single clone trooper was CGI so they could be edited to perfection. The new shows use actors so are hindered by their capabilities
Those first 2 clones were initially disarmed by her but then the 2 clones continued to fight back so to protect the kids she had to finish them off but she initially goes out of her way to avoid having to. The shaky camera makes it difficult to see.

Watching the scenes back-to-back like this, they really did go overboard with the shaky cam style of filming for the Obi-Wan show. There were moments where it made no sense to have the camera shake like it did, almost as if they were afraid to have the camera stay still for too long.
two things that bothered me, one would it really had turned out to be a civil war if the jedi knew about order 66 before it happened? and also how come the jedi defended themselves against the blaster bolts of droids but not the storm troopers?
Good questions! The first question: it's possible it would have turned into a Civil War if they had found out about it, but they probably wouldn't have done much about it. As Golfa Papa Palpatine said "your arrogance blinds you," and I gotta say, the Jedi really were blinded by their arrogance. That's just my opinion, though. Second question: True, they did fare better against the battle droids; however, I think it's because these clones not only fought beside the Jedi for years and learned their tactics, but they were also the best in the Clone Army. They were specifically selected by Vader, thus their legion is called the "501st Legion" aka "Vader's Fist." I ain't saying it's correct, but I hope that helps 😎
@@RicoX-17 You're largely spot on with both points, but there are a few things to note: - The Jedi we focus on (Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, etc.) are the best of the best. Obi-Wan and Yoda are living legends, Anakin is Force Jesus, etc. They are GOD-TIER Force users, most are nowhere near their skill level. If any of them had been at the temple, it's entirely possible they could have turned the tide, which is why Palpitene first made sure they were away and isolated (Obi-Wan on Utapu, Yoda on Kashyyyk, etc.) when Order 66 was declared. This why the scene focuses on specific characters, so the audience is aware the best Jedi were all taken out before they could do much of anything. An example of this is Sifo-Dyas, who was the best blade master of the "normal-tier" Jedi. We see him being taken out by Anakin... while Anakin is distracted and not really trying. - There were only 10,000 Jedi alive at time of Order 66, as many had been killed in the Clone Wars. Simply not enough (especially given the above) to effectively fight a civil war against the Grand Army of the Republic. - The Separatists were bankrupt. They were mostly banking clans and whatnot, and as soon as they declared independence, businesses started refusing to do business with them. The CIS was funded primarily through bonds, eg "Invest in us now and we'll pay you back when we win". Because of this, the battle droids were actually not built to be effective soldiers - they were cheaply produced, relying on the fact that they could be built quickly to outnumber opponents. They simply were not as effective as living, sentient beings that could adapt their strategies and think of solutions to issues. - Most skilled Jedi had been sent to the front lines, leaving most of the people in the temple either untrained (younglings) or unskilled (they weren't on the front lines for a reason). Exceptions such as Sifo-Dyas were dealt with by Anakin.
I always wondered why Clone boys charged jedi. Now I understand the last clone boy at 3:47 on the left stuck his blaster past her lightsaber and shot her. They where sacrificing themselves for the kill...
Thinking about the whole thing from all perspectives is crazy. One comment got into it good with the unseen perspective of the 501st clone trooper walking into the Jedi temple facing superhuman enemies but also killing them with genocidal intent bc the Jedi betrayed, and were out to kill their Commander through out the entire Clone war in front of them, Vader. Also the Bail Organa pulling out of the port so quick, hitting the gas before he was even in the seat, showed how fast shit really hit the fan. The perspective from the other jedi killing the clones for the whole vid then seeing Yoda and Obi Wan at the end mowing them down with ease really makes you feel how powerful they are and that the plot armor makes sense. The progression of Vader from the beginning of the March until the end was really interesting to see now that the clips from Kenobi were added. It really showed Anakins emotional downfall and the emotions Hayden Christensen portrayed in Kenobi clip added to that
Just always find it interesting that Anakin goes along with Palpatine's idea that killing 5 and 6 year olds that probably never handled a lightsaber is bringing peace and justice to the galaxy lol
it’s not just that though, he’s acting selfishly too remember. He thinks the only way to save his wife is through palpatine, so he gives himself into the dark side. As it’s explained in SW, the dark side is like a drug, and if you’ve spent 20 odd years resisting it, giving into it finally would feel great I would assume. IMO Anakin abandons almost all logic and reasonability after he kills Windu. He commits to that path because he thinks there is no way back and he may aswell try to save his wife if he’s going to be vilified anyway. A bit of a cheap explanation but that’s always how I viewed it.
anakin had rage and hate inside him. palp convincing him was probably easy because it's like finally letting anakin off leash, after the jedi order kept that leash tight on him. palpatine couldn't have ever convinced anyone like obi-wan, yoda, luke, or windu, which was why anakin was the perfect storm for him to groom. with the right masters around like qui-gon, (and some much needed therapy lol), anakin could've been contained and turned out a good man. instead he was allowed to unleash all his pent up rage on whatever he wanted and anakin wouldn't say no to that.
@@SlabOfSteak I mean, for a very brief moment he did get into Luke's head in Return of the Jedi (and then got that little push from Vader after mentioning going after Leia), which kind of showed that at times he did have his father's anger/impulse control issues. Main reason he stopped attacking Vader when he was down is hearing Palpatine trying to convince him to finish Vader off and take his place as Palpatine's apprentice and came to his senses (and then Vader has his redemption moment when he sacrifices himself to save Luke, because I'm sure he knew when he did it that Palpatine's Force Lightning would do something to his suit when he picked him up)
what bothers me about the evolution of these scenes is that nobody noticed a very large body of clones, armed, and headed by a hooded Sith, was headed directly to the Jedi Temple. How is that possible given the fact that many of the Jedi were abroad and they left nobody in charge of the situation in the Temple? It seemed that way. It bothers me that Master Windu, also, left nobody in charge in his absence. The chance he would not survive was likely given the trajectory of things.

Lord Vader: walks into the Jedi Temple with thousands of Clones
Everyone in the Temple: does not even bother to check whats happening

Let’s be honest, from a moral standpoint Anakin did enough as Vader to be irredeemable

Seems like only Master Yoda, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were able to deal with the Clone Troopers without getting overwhelmed!
Not really. That's why anakin was there. The knights a d masters that managed to overpower the clones, though few in number, were handled by anakin. Shows it in the holocron. Drallig and a few others probably managed to stave off the clones long enough for anakin to be like "okay yall we gon quit playing around now"

"What shall we do now?"
"LET'S GET THE HELL OUT HERE!"
There really needs to be one more movie between Episode 2 and 3 that was really seriously showing the war and its consequences on the alleged peacekeeper and child soldier generals. The Clone Wars series did some good in this department
This this should of been a 2 part movie
Have to get passed the fact that it's animated, but "The Clone Wars" is exactly what you seek
That's what I said, the Clone Wars did some good in this department
They really need to remake some of The Clone Wars in live-action, I'm pretty sure no one would complain about the cast being older as they certainly didn't on Andor or Better Call Saul ⚖️.
You seek the Clone Wars 2003 version…everything you need between 2 and 3, period!
Damn, the aim of the Clone troopers was amazing. Changing over to Stormtroopers was sadly a huge mistake.
Also, the fact that the Jedi had a camera in the Chancellor's office shows their duplicitous intent.
I cry watching these scenes
This is perfection. Well done!
Skywalker shit 😂
I like how in the scenes from The Book of Boba Fett, the light of lightsabers actually looked like they were from the cgi of ROTS.
I didn't like how in kenobi, lightsabers seemed more like glowing baseball bats, the first 2 kills in the kenobi sequence both seem unphased by the first hit the jedi gave them, only dropping their weapons and staggering a bit, only the second hit kills them, in the hallway every clone takes 1 hit but there is no mark showing that they had been cut, and before anyone says, no that wouldn't be changing the rating, anyway I'm unsure of this but at one point in the hallway she deflects a shot which presumably kills 2 troopers at once, again unsure, I think the other death was covered from view, the jedi master then proceeds to take 2 shots, reva takes a saber to the chest twice in her life and that poor kid on the landing platform died from a blaster bolt
ROTS to this day has just about everything star wars needs at this point
Possibly the issue between using CGI and actors. In the prequels every single clone trooper was CGI so they could be edited to perfection. The new shows use actors so are hindered by their capabilities
Those first 2 clones were initially disarmed by her but then the 2 clones continued to fight back so to protect the kids she had to finish them off but she initially goes out of her way to avoid having to. The shaky camera makes it difficult to see.
Her movements with the lightsaber were really great. But definitely agree about it feels like saber is just smacking them
In all of the stories I've ever come across in my lifetime, Order 66 is single-handedly one of the most tragic, heartbreaking stories there is and ever will be. I dare another writer to do better, yet I hope they don't.

Even after watching this when it was first released and expecting the moments after having kids of my own i almost came to a tear once i heard "Master Skywalker there are to many of them what are we going to do"
Yoda: If you go into the security recordings, only pain you will find.
Also Yoda minutes earlier: Killed not by clones this padawan was, by a lightsaber he was.
One thing is to know that a kid was killed by a lightsaber, but finding out by WHOSE lightsaber is completely different.
Anakin walked into the youngling room to let off some steam. (Probably also to xp farm)
So much death. For nothing more than a boy who was deceived. The most tragic tale of all
The fact that the Jedi were so caught off-guard by the clones turning on them..............they never believed that they could possibly be in danger from them even for a moment, because they trusted their men that much. Aayla Secura's death in particular, she hears the clones raise their weapons and looks around at once for the threat they've seen, realising only too late what they're really about to do and she looks so shocked and betrayed right before they gun her down.

Qui-Gon Stabbed By Maul - Dies

Suburbly edited my friend well done! The sequences were just in the right order and we have the after math scene with yoda and kenobi just makes it complete. This is probably the best sequence of events in Star wars. They should somehow bring back hayden to have him fight some jedi in the temple would be very cool
Ben and jacen solo failed to learn from their grandfather's mistakes.
Man seeing Hayden return during order 66 is such a treat!!
#BringPadmeBack
The music for all of this phenomal, really sells these scenes
Sad fact is there was a longer not fully developed scene in ep3. That had Anakin brutally slaughtering Jedi at the temple. Part of the scene was just reduced to the holo video of Anakin fighting jedi that Obi Wan sees with Yoda.
That would've been cool, I noticed he grabs and chokes a Jedi with his bare hand, mid fight. Very Vader. It's a shame that was cut
Yeah they were just padawans getting choked but the other one with the green saber is actually cin drallig, one of the best duelists of the entire order. And Vader still fought him plus 2 padawans at the same time and killed them all without injury
They should release a limited series and put it out we want more prime anakin sith battles
The people who dont know more about the Order 66 then "They killed all jedis" dont know what feelings come when Anakin turned to Vader :( That shit broke my heart. Its the exact same feeling back later when mufasa died D:
why does the scenes from 2005 look so much better??
Bc some of the newer ones were flashbacks told from Grogu's memory so they were filmed differently - plus TV show vs major film budget
I’m just glad he got his flowers over the years, he might have sounded like he was over dramatic or whining but he did a great job for what the movies were at that time!
Bro…. This mashup is epic
Brilliantly put together, still devastating to watch.
This gave me major goosebumps
Seen ROTS a hundred times, and only now, after all these years, does it bring tears to my eyes (especially when Senator Organa screams, "NO"). This is THE most tragic event in all of Star Wars (in my opinion).
Watching the scenes back-to-back like this, they really did go overboard with the shaky cam style of filming for the Obi-Wan show.
There were moments where it made no sense to have the camera shake like it did, almost as if they were afraid to have the camera stay still for too long.
Good lord. The way he swings at those kids. That’s insanely aggressive
Yoda and Obiwan fighting together is OP
Sidious out here 😆 lookin like a Walking Dead Zombie.

The most saddest heart breaking moment in Star Wars history. It really sucks how every Jedi died and they destroyed the order bro😢😢😭😭
two things that bothered me, one would it really had turned out to be a civil war if the jedi knew about order 66 before it happened? and also how come the jedi defended themselves against the blaster bolts of droids but not the storm troopers?
Good questions!
The first question: it's possible it would have turned into a Civil War if they had found out about it, but they probably wouldn't have done much about it. As Golfa Papa Palpatine said "your arrogance blinds you," and I gotta say, the Jedi really were blinded by their arrogance. That's just my opinion, though.
Second question: True, they did fare better against the battle droids; however, I think it's because these clones not only fought beside the Jedi for years and learned their tactics, but they were also the best in the Clone Army. They were specifically selected by Vader, thus their legion is called the "501st Legion" aka "Vader's Fist."
I ain't saying it's correct, but I hope that helps 😎
@@RicoX-17 You're largely spot on with both points, but there are a few things to note:
- The Jedi we focus on (Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, etc.) are the best of the best.
Dude I cant have a serius debate with someone who calls Stormtroopers to the Clones...

Pov: Grevious enters the temple these lightsabers will be a fine addition to my colecction
It really showed Anakins emotional downfall and the emotions Hayden Christensen portrayed in Kenobi clip added to that
Most of the experienced jedi weren't at the temple. They were off on other worlds about to be killed or like mace already dead
Just always find it interesting that Anakin goes along with Palpatine's idea that killing 5 and 6 year olds that probably never handled a lightsaber is bringing peace and justice to the galaxy lol
Well in his warped perspective it’s like killing nazi babies in training
Read the ROTS novelization. It goes into detail as to why he killed them.
it’s not just that though, he’s acting selfishly too remember.
Main reason he stopped attacking Vader when he was down is hearing Palpatine trying to convince him to finish Vader off and take his place as Palpatine's apprentice and came to his senses (and then Vader has his redemption moment when he sacrifices himself to save Luke, because I'm sure he knew when he did it that Palpatine's Force Lightning would do something to his suit when he picked him up)
The whole order 66 was heart wrenchin like damn😫 those younglings, makes me think of real life how soldiers do that bs when theyre bombing cities
Very well done. 👍
Thank you!!
3:08 trooper "felt" the impact before it hit him 🤣🤣🤣
Memories 🥲
what bothers me about the evolution of these scenes is that nobody noticed a very large body of clones, armed, and headed by a hooded Sith, was headed directly to the Jedi Temple. How is that possible given the fact that many of the Jedi were abroad and they left nobody in charge of the situation in the Temple? It seemed that way. It bothers me that Master Windu, also, left nobody in charge in his absence. The chance he would not survive was likely given the trajectory of things.
Once more the sith will rule the galaxy and we shall have peace .
