The dedication and time you have invested in going deeper with this camera is really appreciated, you are definitely opening up minds about filming technique possibilities especially for independent filmmakers. Thank you.
Fantastic explainer for the 4D Flex. I saw the announcement but didn’t envision the possibilities until watching this. And yes, ProRes RAW in Resolve does need to happen.
Men you are a little too genius… I really love you man… you are just different in this industry And also as you said great appreciation to the dji team.. 🤯 they have just 🤯🤯🤯 my mind… 13:59 for me I think this is now what is to be called the Best Vlogging set up of the current era… hands down.
I also really want Davinci resolve to accept Prores raw as a raw standard, it really needs to happen now that cameras are starting to ship with the codec
Hello, this possibility is not about to happen quickly given the different policies between Blackmagic and Apple. In the meantime, there is a way to easily transform ProresRaw into Cinema DNG that fits into Davinci Resolve perfectly. And with sound and time code. Application on macOS only: Raw Convertor. There are already plenty of modules available, including the DJI 4D, several Sony and Panasonic, Zcam, Nikon and more. Of course, it's slow, requires a lot of computing power, but opens the doors of Resolve for almost all ProresRaw!!! And Assimilate PlayProStudio do the same thing with more possibilities and more expensive My two cents...
At 6:18, is that Pictor 20-55mm T2.8 lens mounted on the Zenmuse X9? Does that lens' image circle actually cover the full sensor area? It's a "Full Frame" sensor but the lens is advertised as "Super35".
Adam, really great update on what new you've done in this ecosystem. While my concern has always been with the DJI camera sensor (I've tested the 4D with a number of larger format lenses with some really good and some not-so-desirable image results - can be a separate discussion). What I am curious about was your crash cam segment and the tripod/monopod you used 1) for camera pull/push shot as well as how you used it as a jib, 2) how you extended and balanced the extended tri/monopod in a steadi rig for REALLY long reach? The reason for the 2nd Q is I've used a few hacks to extend my own steadicam rig w/ gimbal to get more height on what amounts to a jib shot off of a steadicam rig. I have several cams (red, sony, arri) in addition to the 4D available that I want to test this with - just for the sake of comparison and when/where I might employ any one of these options.
Hi, in fact and on the boom and on the seagway I used a monopod (I believe it is some model sirui carbon, I do not remember the exact model) I used to put my camera there as a counterweight, the fact that it was not perfectly balanced, but for those purposes it was ok.
The 4D Flex will definitely take the payload off your arms and straight into the backpack which acts in similar ways to the Sony Rialto for a fraction of the price. Great informative video as always Best Boy Adam!! 💯 Keep it up! 👍
Excellent overview of the astounding capabilities the Flex module offers. One question to Steadycam-Mode: what are the parts you use to connect the Ronin 4d's body to the Float pole's Nato clamp?
Your videos are some of the best on youtube! One question for you, what do the skin tones look like straight out of camera? Very interested in using this camera for live broadcasts.
It’s much improved now with this flex addition. However I still see a few issues limiting the useability: 1. No way to use larger cine lenses with stabilization. They could have set the weight limit to at least 1.5kg. That would have allowed for the use of some cine lenses. 2. As far as I know, mattebox is also nit possible with stabilization. Maybe with a lightweight mattebox it’s ok, but where to put the lidar? This one is crucial. For a pro use one has to have a way to control light entering the lens.
oh yes, a longer cable for the Lidar sensor would certainly be useful. As for the lenses, you know I'm not complaining because basically all the lenses I have work great.
I can't figure out how you mounted the rails to the Flex adapter. I've tried to find parts like that online, but I"ve had no luck finding something compatible.
I’ve always dreamt of operating a trinity a couple years ago. Crazy how I’m that much closer 😂 Do you have a pdf of gear breakdown in terms of making that happen ?
Hi Adam, amazing video, thanks for the level of detail you put in. Quick question I'm hoping you can help me with. What are the clamps called that you put on the bottom of the 4D at 7min31 in the video, and also what is the boom pole and the extra large stand at the end of the pole at 7min36 in the video. I'm looking to set up a similar rig and would love some help. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi Adam, great video, thanks! Been looking for clamps like the ones you use on the "special rig" in this video. Found some similar clamps from Eurolite and Kupo, but not with the right dims for the Sirui monopod. Could you tell me what kind of clams you use in this video? Much appreciated, thanks!
Wow, my main gripe with this was not being able to throw on mercurys or other larger lenses quite amazing. Thank you for working hard my friend. Did you end up picking up the 8k?
Hey Adam, these videos are amazing -- quick question for you! Have you tried the Ronin 4D with Tilta Float and the quick release adapter? Eliminating the post from the system... it would give you the double stabilization without the need for a counterweight. I just did a documentary shoot with it and found the stabilization to be unbelievably good, if the system's weighting a bit tricky especially over a long shooting day. I'm sure you've tried it & still prefer having the post for the different camera moves you can do, correct?
how many Axis do you need? YES 😅 so what if you put the RoninChicken4D on the Ronin 2 and put that on the Tilta Float ? and also do you have a video about this DIY spining machine 12:43 thats really nice to do product clothing shots
I still have a Glidecam X22 vest & arm. Do you think I can make that work for the 4D Flex with a pole as well? What is the center piece that connects the Tilta Float to the pole?
the 4D seems like a game changer to me! Can anyone tell me if there would be a big difference in quality between the 4D and a Red camera for example? I'd never buy a Red camera at this point as it is waaaaay to expensive. The 4D is affordable in comparison. And with flex, it got even crazier!
Great video as always... I have a question. How did You manage to lock the axis on the gimbal to mount it on the handheld baseplate?... How did You get the correct height?
Hi Bestboy Adam! Really dig the video! I plan on purchasing the same R4d flex tilta combo! And my question is: what clamp do you use to fasten the monitor to the tilta's grip handle? Thanks again, man!
Can I use this ronin 4D to use as a TV studio camera to transmit live and direct or to transmit live and direct as an outdoor cameraman for TV programs?
love your in depth videos about the possibilities with 4D. I ordered the flex cable today, can i ask what arm/mono pod you use for the steadicam set up?
Thank you Russel, my steadicam setup is basically a tilta float for the most part but the post is from digital photo thanos and the beseplate at the bottom is from glidecam
6 axis? Hell yeah we need one axis more.. 😂 If you mount the full body Ronin 4D in Ronin gimbals it would be 7 axis stabilization, I wonder how stable the footage is.
The only new feature worth mentioning is GPS for tilting compensation. But it technically can't perform properly. As with fast turns during the ride GPS can not detect the momentum and centrifugal forces that make gimpbal tilt.
It’s such a shame that they didn’t come out with the new gimbal to be able to attach PL mount lenses seamlessly. I would much rather have preferred that to have been the new product.
Gimbal on a gimbal. That's AWESOME. Now...can we PLEASE get proper A7SIII-level rolling shutter? Because that's the biggest drawback to this setup, price notwithstanding. It's crazy to think that just $150K total worth of hardware (gimbals, cameras, lenses, tripods, monopods, car mounts/cranes, microphones, and even lights) is enough for a 3 or 4 angle setup these days, which is pretty much all you need for any single shot if you want multiple areas of coverage. And you can shoot anything from a low-budget commercial all the way to a multi-million-dollar Netflix production with it.
Funny how this trend of throwing new camera to all the youtubers like a bone for reviews is more discrediting than an advantage. Looks like a desparate move.
The dedication and time you have invested in going deeper with this camera is really appreciated, you are definitely opening up minds about filming technique possibilities especially for independent filmmakers.
Thank you.
Hakim, how good to see such a great comment 💪
Man, your channel is a gold treasure of knowledge, ideas and inspiration!! Thank you!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you !!!!
Instant order for me. The 4D was already a sensational tool but this gives so many more options.
👍
Same I ordered the day it was announced for ordering. Still waiting on the pgytech backpack though. For now my regular backpack works well enough. Lol
How do you do handheld work without the flex? Does the sport mode use up more battery quickly?
Amazing Video, thanks for your experience sharing!
💪Thank you TILTA TEAM 💪
Amazing review!! Your channel is definitely underrated! Thank you!
thank you !!!👍
I thought i had watched all i needed to about this new thing i cannot afford. You killed this even more !
thx man !!

Thx 👍
Wow I was drooling watching the video lol this is awesome system Dji is stepping up the game

You have said it all in this review anyone can get all the answers from here about the DJI 4D Flex. Thank you Adam
thank you man, so glad to hear that 😍
How good is the stability at higher (wind)speeds e.g. when mounted on the car? I´m considering to mount it on the outside of a plane
Such an incredible video!
Stuart 💪such an incredible equipment !!
Great video. And a stunning Classic Chevy 😍
Killing the game, still my favorite channel on UA-cam ✊🏽
Thx buddy 👍🙌
12:15 12:27 what is film?
The El Camino shots locked in my subscription. I need to get this system 🔥
Super addition to the R4D! Splitting both makes so much sense.
Awesome video as always 😀👍
thx !!!👍
You have the cooles R4D setup I’ve ever seen! Awesome video!
Awesome video, as always
Alex 👍
Wow. I like how your setup is attainable.
I would love to know your opinion of a "naked" x7 like the HaloRC Pandora!!
You deserve more followers! NICE VIDEO!
thank you Leo
Everytime I watch more about this camera the more I'm convinced it's the ultimate prosumer camera.
Excellent for one man army
Incredible review
thank you !!
wow! Thank u..Love from Nepal...
Love from Poland 😁

in 4d you have the choice of sensor size either ff or s35
Thanks so much for sharing your brilliant insights.
my pleasure !!

How well is the 4D body handling temperature in the backpack? I do not see any vents on the bag. Does the body get hot after long shoots?
12:47 what is the name of ther orbit system shown here? or is this a DIY job? thanks!
yea DIY version, I'm going to make a video about it
@@BestboyAdam amazing! Can't wait ❤️

Great informative video as always Best Boy Adam!! 💯 Keep it up! 👍
VIPAH thank you !!!👍
What did you use to mount the monitor to the arm of the Tilta float?
Amazing video, thank you!!
I was thinking, if you install the movmax storm in the plastic box, maybe can help you with the dust and water
Sorry, I'm was wrong, it's movmax hurricane
o yeea great idea !!!
Beautifully done

Josh, 💪 thank you
Awesome video!!! Where did you get the back support for the Tilta Float?
Assimilate launched Pro Plus Studio, which lets you convert ProRes RAW to CinemaDNG. But of course, that's still an extra step to go through.
well yes, but how great would it be to be able to work on it in davinci 🧐
I can't figure out how you mounted the rails to the Flex adapter. I've tried to find parts like that online, but I"ve had no luck finding something compatible.
Dude you are my hero 🎉

I have the exact same question! Looking for that boom pole. Maybe the manfrotto? It looks super long.
I think the monopod is the Sirui P-424FL ;) Have you had any luck with the clamps? ¨
no i tried a few different ones but nothing worked great @@L_E_A
Hi Fantastic video. Thank you. Please can you let me know where you got the brackets to attach the Ronin 4D to the pole at 7 mins 31. Thanks :-)

Okay, my mind is blown again.
Apparently, 3 cables can be connected together too, giving a total possible length of 6 meters!
Спасибо. У вас лучшие обзоры.
7:28 i wanna buy that pole.
how can i buy??
This just became my next camera
Any info on compatibility with Sonys 16-35 power zoom lens ?

remember people, its not the box, its the quality of the lens and the history you are trying to tell...
All we need now is the XLR expansion plate!

Only big problem Roni4 Does not have hd-sdi output
I think it's a matter of time
Awesome

You're crazy 🙃

Too bad all that was not possible with classic gimbals and any other camera without cables and huge box in a backpack, right? ;)
there's always DJI action cam 😁
imagine these whole ronin gear becomes more cheap..then vloggers will go next level
ooo yea :)
😂 tf? Nobody shooting 8k for electronics news gathering assignments 🙄
I hope they're paying you for this.

I think it is a very good move, Anyway, this is how the market works now. besides, what desperation are you talking about?
