That was so cool seeing him stop then how fast he left, very impressive. An added bonus for me was seeing "The Bay Line" boxcar mixed in, I loved that. Great video Walter!
I love seeing the Southern Railway box cars on this train. I bought a great book about Southern recently. They were such a good company, its hard to believe that they no longer exist.
Nice Catch Walter . Looks like NS 334 Had alot of Foreign power on the front end . After stopping for the Obstruction on the Track looks like he picked Speed back up pretty quick there with those GE Locomotives . Glad to see you getting out & about . Continued Prayers going up for you & yours . Mack
Glad to see your getting out and catching some trains. Was wondering why he was tooting the horn so much then saw the work crew. Must not have been much of a obstruction as he didn't seam to have stopped long. I heard the defect detector. Reminds me I got something from one I had not heard before in one of my recent videos. "High load" from what I can make out
When work is completed on the old roadway on the Harahan rail bridge over the Mississippi River it will be a great place to spot both east and west bound traffic. The roadway was for cars decades ago, but has fallen into disrepair. The plans are afoot to repair the roadway for bike and pedestrian traffic.
If it was just a tree branch I would easily think they'd be able to clear it out of the way no problem but who knows what was on the rails. Nice catch Walter.
I tell ya Walter, after that stop, they sure did put the pedal to the metal. If those cars had wings, they would have taken off into the wild blue yonder.
Walter how is UP and BNSF on this side of the U.S.? Are they leased out to NS or CSX or are they leasing the rails? I always qonder how they do that? I've seen Kansas City Southern trains too
Often Railroads lease time with other railroads locomotives and some BNSF Trains like coal that originate on BNSF territory stay with the train all the way but it is operated by NS Employees on NS Territory
