I think it’s because coming into this season, Ben was supposed to be the 3rd option with KD and Kyrie, or at the very least improve team defense. For the little expectations we had for him, he somehow came out EVEN WORSE than expected. His defense even fell off. He was fouling out in 20 minutes and completely stopped looking at the rim. Like looking at it on a scale of 1-10, we expected a 5, and the mother fucker came out at a 2.

Part of the reason the warriors played so bad when dray got injured was also when steph was shooting horribly after he broke the 3pt record, it's a lot easier to beat the warriors when steph isn't playing good and it does effect their defense even when draymond is healthy but steph isn't on the court he looks like a role player at best on both sides of the ball
@JAS free safety help defense is extremely valuable. Basketball is a 5v5 not a 1v1. A point of attack defender like Marcus smart is not as valuable as an elite help defender who can guard off ball and help when the defender falters think of Robert Williams III, Rudy Gobert, and AD hell even Ben Simmons. Guys who block/steal while not necessarily being the point I’d attack defenders. Staying also brings an extreme amount of versatility to their defense by allowing them to play small because he can guard centers 1v1. Those are things Wiggins who is a good defender doesn’t bring the warriors.
