I used to travel by konkan railway during my schooling days..
I have experienced this monsoon journey on this route.. It's a beautiful experience..but sometimes if it rains a lot journey becomes lil scary 😃

Mumbai-Goa the whole rail link was chief E. sreedharan in limit time who was given the 1st metro of Delhi to complete in given tme and he did it by working day and night, after this he was awarded by president and though he was retire his term was extended and was given 900/0 of delhi metro and he did so... Proud Indian!...

Tunnels of konkan railways are very long, i remember 1 tunnel near ratnarigi is 4.5 km long.

Before Ratnagiri railway station. Bhoke (Karbude) tunnel hai. Woh 6.7 km hai.

Hi Madam ji & sir ji ,i m VASHU GULANI MUMBAI INDIA.I like Dhood Sagar journey.Ek joke muje b yaad aaya hai...Ek bhanda roz job par jaane se pahele ghar pe BHAGWAN ki pooja ( ibaadat) karata thha aur phir local train se travel kar ke job par jaata thha(MUMBAI mien local trains b chalati hain) jo lagbhag hamesha late hi hoti thhi. Ek din pooja kar hi raha thha ki uss Biwi ne bhola ae ji pooja chhoro BHAGWAN toh ghar mien hi hai, pooja baad aa ke karana Raju ka phne aaya hai ki train aaj time par aa rahi hai pahele uss ko pakaro !!! once i did get down from the train to enjoy the beauty of Doodh sagar falls t was so mesmerizing that we forgot that we had to go back and board the train by the time we realised the train had picked up the speed in few seconds we ran to catch the train ,my husband pushed me in the train while I kept on screaming I can't i cant..... It was a big risk we had taken that day I still get goose bumps when I think of it. So be careful when you get down to see the beautiful Doodh sagar.
I had did this 26 km trek on foot from side of this track..on college time with friends..its amazing journey..

"Dudh Sagar'" Beautiful landscape... 1st I visited in 1993 meterguage train 🚂🚃🚃🚃 with 3+3 steam engines, 2nd time Broadguage train with diesel engines now electrification work going on full Swing so next time by electric ⚡ locomotive... Sure 👍

I have been there many times. I studied in Belagavi which is near to Dudhsagar. If anyone wanna visit with your friends then alight in castle Rock and go by walk till Dudhsagar even though it's a long route u will enjoy the views. it's heaven on the Earth.

And then they have their different ages as well, means when their formation took place - its actually millions of years before. On the basis of formation type and age, their features differ. This is kokan railway and it is one of the best route in the India it is very old train route and maximum route is from tunnel and even it is single line route
