Traveling on the Karjat-Lonavala train was a regular doing in the 4 years of my college in Lonavala. It's damn beautiful. The waterfalls, the valleys, the tunnels, and the mountains. Traveling early in the morning was a treat.
OMG I only get to see the new jodhpur highcourt throughout my journey to my college which is very huge and beautiful but it's still a highcourt not a tourist destination, i rather like the view of ummed palace and Mehrangarh Fort from my house.

I am living near to the nilambur - shornur railway line. Travelled through that route lot of times.. so lush and beautiful.. and when you reach in nilambur, you can go to teak museum, also they have a butterfly garden. You can go to Canolly Plot where you can see world's oldest teak plantation, then adyanpara waterfall etc...

You can try nilgiri rail system, Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Which is very beautiful since it is a mountain slope.
If you remember "Barfi"... You saw 'Darjeeling Toy Train' there.... It's in Bengal... And if you try the local authentic "Tea" there, you'll feel heaven on earth

I am pretty sure your first train ride willl be "Mangalore Express" as shown. Its beautiful. You will visit Goa and end up in Mangalore. From mangalore you can then take a train to kerala.. and then move onwards to tamil nadu.

I live near the Happy Valley Tea Estate in Darjeeling. Most of their product gets exported.

Roadtrips r fun but nothing beats the experiencing of travelling in a train. The remote areas railways passes through unlike normal roads is amazing.

Yes please visit the first one on the list Mumbai Goa Mangalore it's a very beautiful railway line Konkan railway .Konkan Railways has over 2,000 bridges and 91 tunnels. The project was considered the biggest and perhaps most difficult railway undertaking during this century, at least in this part of the world
And from Mangalore you can take a train to Kerala! Btw I'm from Mangalore 😀

Trains are the best way to travel in India. Back in the days when air travel was costly we used to travel by trains. Now also Bangalore Mysore is just three hours by road but we prefer going by train😁

The best experience is when you travel in a general compartment (unreserved) from Chennai - Delhi. Will be a lifetime experience that you'll never forget. Trust me😂
Please definitely take the Darjeeling Toy Train ride, I live in Siliguri and this train ride goes by Rung Tung hill too where I have been multiple times, the train ride is slow but it takes you throught the beauty and culture of the foothills of the Himalayas

The laxuary train they showed is Golden Chariot which runs in south India not in Rajasthan.

The train they showed for the Darjeeling toy train had a Diesel engine, which not the original one and not the one that it is famous for . But of course the video is about the journey and not the train itself. The original one has a steam engine, that’s the authentic one. The steam engine also still runs and it’s your luck whether you get the diesel or steam when the train pulls up on the station. The Diesel engines were added to the fleet later as the steam engines were old, needed a lot of maintenance and couldn’t be constantly kept running. Train enthusiasts from all over the world come to take a ride as it is the only true toy train that’s still running.
