These conquest are more of an everyday "buy one and you're good on all occasions" type of piece. Sporty elegance!
Agreed!
It's an everything watch. Kind of like the Rolex Explorer
The Explorer wishes it could be this well rounded
Can the longiness be worn with canvas shorts, t shirt and vans?
@@topranked5465 of course
I picked up and immaculate used 2022 model for £500 it’s a great all rounder
The conquest reads more “everyday watch” to me - it has so many applications it’s crazy. I think people have a hard time separating what defines a dress watch to them from what they’re actually looking at.
Your Longines content is awesome and I think also necessary. This type of coverage is great to see for this brand which is occupying an important space right now. I think a video breakdown of a full Longines 3-5 watch collection would help a lot of collectors entering the luxury space make more informed decisions - awesome content brother!
Thank you Kyle. Appreciate that!
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial I agree with his comment... new folk need a reliable start
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial I subscribed can you do a video on the Longines Hydroconquest vs the oris aquis? 😁😎👍
Personally I think its field/pilot watch. I really like the way it looks and it should be getting more attention.
Looks like the ideal watch if you needed to walk out of the ocean, strip off the wetsuit to reveal the tux underneath, and head straight into the casino. Now where have I seen that before?!
Great channel, which I've just discovered. Greetings from Tain. Will be in the market soon.
I would say it’s the perfect watch for a business casual work environment. Perfect balance of dress and tool. Beautiful watch to say the least.
Great video Harrison! Loves Longines watches - all the history and heritage, yet excellent value for money! I regard this model as a great all rounder. A watch that can be dressed up and dressed down according to the occasion. Could even be used as a one watch collection………an absurd idea to us enthusiasts 😂👍
Just came home from the AD with a new Conquest! 🥳 I went with the black dial which does have lume and loses the applied arabics in favour of higher contrast printing. I think these sportier elements place it more firmly in the everyday category whereas the blue dial leans dressier. Both great watches and I like the way Longines offers so many variants with differences in the small details...makes it interesting.
Thanks for doing this review. I have the 39mm silver/white dial version on a bracelet which I am very happy with. I bought it as a sports or GADA type watch which is suitable for most situations.
I have this watch in 41mm on the bracelet in blue and I would say it's more of a sports watch /every day watch 😂 it's a hard call between the two, but it's a fantastic watch no matter what group you put it in plus the movement is great and really accurate 👍
Guys the black one does have lume, I see it as a budget explorer I have one in the collection (black 41 auto) it's a strap monster looks great on bracelet, rubber, NATO, leather, suede at this price it's a no brainer perfect daily driver, anti magnetic silicon balance spring 72 hours pr 300 meters wr, for sub 1k.... bargain!!
The Longines Conquest is more of a field watch. It has 300m of water resistance witch makes a great advantage. One of the best and underrated GADA watches at a great price point. It's definitely on my list.
Dive watches have a bezel that you can turn. So it should not even be a question :)
Ps: bracelet version looks more sporty, should have used that for the video
I am now a happy longines conquest user, too. Already browse so many watch and it happen this black dial & 41mm watch now my daily mon - fri watch. ❤❤❤
Hi i have just discovered this channel and looking forward to discover your content. I have 3 Conquests in my collection because think they are beautifully designed. I would classify it as a Dressy everyday Sportswatch, or Sporty everyday Dresswatch. Definitely not as dive watch due to missing Diving Bezel. Keep going :-)
I STILL can’t understand why the hands on the black dial have lume yet the blue doesn’t. It makes NO SENSE. So, when I bought mine, I just did the true Hydroconquest… The movements in these watches are really amazing. ❤
Great videos ,keep up the good work and good luck, stay healthy.
First of all, I discovered your channel a week ago, and I must say you are doing an excellent job! I enjoy your videos and reviews. Keep the good stuff coming!
Could you please review the Breitling Superocean Heritage B20? (green or black dial with steel bracelet) and compare it with your beloved Seamaster?
Thank you, and have a lovely weekend.
Colin
I love to be confused like this! 😆
What a stunning watch 😍
(By the way, I’m a “6 O’clock Date Window” type of guy)
Thanks for sharing!
No timing bezel, no lume on hands - silly to even suggest that this may be a dive watch.
The black version has lume on the hands and indices. The 'sunray' blue does not.
First, it’s not a dive watch. You don’t have a dive watch without a rotating count-up bezel. It’s basically a sports watch with 200 meters of water resistance. You can’t even call it a dive style watch without the rotating count-up bezel.
Beauty of a dress watch you could take on an outing on the water and not be afraid to enjoy a dip in the brink!
For me the clincher would be to drop the date all together and enjoy the brilliance of the dial with the authoritative 6 and 12 markers!
Agreed! 39mm without a date would be an amazing allrounder.
Beautiful model! 😍
Perfect stag do watch. Head to Ibiza with the boys in and out of the pool, then go for dinner and hit the pubs and clubs all in the knowledge that it looks great and you don’t need to worry about it as it’s super tough.
I’m not sure where the dive watch debate comes from. Is it a dive watch just because it’s got 300m water resistance? Not really. Nice to have but this watch sort of fits into the field/sports watch in my opinion. Nice review, good camera work and thoughtful.
I have both the Conquest and Hydroconquest. I would describe the Conquest as a dress watch with diving (but not scuba diving) capability, due to the lack of a count down bezel.
It's a masculine dress watch or an everyday watch. Beautiful watch.
3 o'clock date, please.
The Conquest is a Sport's watch. Easy as. Love mine!
Moreover I’d say it is kind of a dressy field watch with superlative water resistence. Kind of an overkill dressier Rolex Explorer.
I own this watch (brown band) and use it only as a "dress" watch. Looks great with a suit
Well, someone correctly concluded that dive watches are mostly worn in the offices so they made one that's more fit for purpose.
Also note...the black dial does have lume , both the markers and hands(but the indices and numerals are printed and not applied) while the blue and silver dial variations have polished applied indices and numerals but no lume. It's rather maddening.
They Longines have the Diver, as you stated. The Hydroconquest. No bezel tell me how it can be a diver. Simple it's more dress, with a touch of dive.
Of course it was raining it’s edinburgh was there at Christmas and their shop is amazing
I think this watch is the ultimate Everyday Watch. For guys who enter workforce in office/business environment (the black leather version is more conservative, elegant while the blue strap/dial version has a lot more modern/sporty look) and want a proper do it all watch which could work in meetings/presentations/negotiations, but equally out in the pub, cigar-club or even in not too rough outdoor activities. My only criticism of this watch is the second hand. It's a tad too long in my opinion, I always have this feeling that it's gonna scratch the sides at times ... By the way great review bud! Keep it up!
Thank you sir. Appreciate that
Its a sport-every day watch IMHO perfect for one-watch collection :)
Hey I'd like to open a discussion. What do you think about the NON applied indices only on the black dial version. Why did they do that? Is it a deal breaker or it's actually a good thing? I'd like to hear your opinion. I love the black dial but also the blue it's magnificent 💙
The black dial version of this is much more sporty vut can be dressed up! It has decent lume andnlume on the hands. As well as a gloss black dial with printed indicies etc vs the applied indicies on the white or blue dial versions. The black dial, in quartz at 41mm i feel is the perfect all day everyday watch. And i should know as i own one. But i recommend getting it on a bracelet!
I’d go for the 39mm and would dress it down with sporty strapps.
It’s a Sport watch according to Longines website, this one I believe compete with ML aikon, FC high life, PRX, Nomos Tangente sports etc.
There you have it, sport watch.
Would love a new 201 blue dial Omega Seamaster 300 review!
Bought this watch, excellent watch as everyday watch
Agreed!
I’m definitely a 6 o’clock date window kinda guy. It helps with balance and aesthetics.
Conquest: Dress Watch
HydroConquest: Dive Watch
Great video! I wonder why they removed the lume on the blue version but kept it on the black version 🤔
Choice
It's also available in 39 , 41 and 43mm also the black has lume but blue foes not strangely.
Which color is more versatile?
I’m going to buy a leather strap for dress occasions.
I don’t like that much the blue straps, but the blue dial is more dressy than the black one in this occasion, help
It’s in the explorer category not dress or diver. Great watch, well done on 5k.
Thanks you!
Longines 1832 looks gorgeous but not much reviews about it. Would love a video from your channel bro!
Great choice. I will look into getting one for you!
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial
Comparing both: The moon phase version and the date only version will be top notch
Waiting for it!😍
Owning the 39mm blue and I would call it a GADA watch Go Anywhere Do Anything), as you can dress it up and down from beach to opera…
Btw - the black and the white dial versions have lume on markers and hands, the blue and silver ones not…
It is a field watch with a dress aesthetics design!
Can you please review Straum Oppahv? It has one of the most stunning dials I’ve seen. Since it’s from a micro brand, It hasn’t got much recognition and I can’t find any reviews of it.
It's both and neither. Can take it swimming, even deep, and wear it to special occasions or just wear it daily. It's the beauty of this watch. It looks good and you can wear it anytime anywhere. It could do with a better lume on the black or any lume on the blue which has none. And perhaps an adjustable clasp on the bracelet and would have a beauty for the money
I too like and will wear it as a dress watch or smart casual everyday. 3 position I like for me on this one.
Depends on the bracelet, but id say its more of an everyday watch, as it is modelled after an Explorer...
If this is a dive watch, then I would prefer no date. If there has to be a date then a 6 o clock position would be preferable but closer to the centre of the dial would be better. This is definitely a dress watch though because you really do need that bezel for dive watches.
Do a review of the Roamer Searock.
Black dial version has lume, don't know if anyone mentioned in the comments but black dial has lume! And weirdly Longines decided not to put lume on other color variants. It doesn't make any sense at all.
Don't know if anyone mentioned but I also saw in comments that people just misses this watch because it doesn't have lume. I decide not to buy this just because of doesn't have a lume while i was looking for a blue dial watch, but for the black one 39mm i'll go with it. It is kinda Rolex datejust/oyster with explorer 36mm dial view on it.
Could you review the stainless bracelet version
When I found out the black dial didn’t have applied hour markers, it became a no go for me.
Any love for the vhp?
First time viewer and subbed. 😎👍🏼
Question: what size is your wrist? Assuming it’s yours in the vid.
I have a 17.78cm wrist so I’m trying to decide between the 39 & 41
Also, Longines really missed a trick here. On the Hydro they had a model with lumed indices/numbers outlined in steel which….
1. Makes it more legible than the current blue Conquest variant and….
2. Would make the Conquest a real Rolex Explorer alternative.
I love the blue, but the solid steel indicies make it difficult to read in some lighting. The black version is very legible, but lack that steel outline. See what I mean? Lol
ANYWAY….I’m going for the black. Just not sure if 39/41. Sorry for the long comment.
Chisholm Hunter sounds like a fictional detective from a series of crime novels.
So beautiful 😍
Is it explorer enough to be an Explorer alternative, its just a bit too polished imo
Can you review the hamilton khaki aviation pilot pioneer?
Let me look into it for you! Great suggestion.
Lug to lug 50 mm... It would wrap my small wrist 😅 anyway, nice looking watch.
Everyone knows that all date windows should be at 11:00.
😂
It can’t be a dive watch since it’s missing the most important thing and that the bezel. I don’t think is a dress watch either, that’s more of a casual everyday watch
It's a dressy sports watch. Not hard to figure out. Lume, 200m wr with screw down crown. Dead giveaways that it's a sports watch. Just a classy one.
Tip: A dive watch has a countdown bezel.
It’s neither but it has got the best of both.
300 meter down is a bit shallow for me🤠
I would compare this to the Tissot Gentleman. Seems like the dimensions of the Tissot are a bit better and can also be a bit dressier and all around GADA. What do you guys think? I do think it's a better value than the Longines Conquest IMHO.
What ever it is… I want one! Lol
3 o'clock, always
How big is your wrist?
What is your wrist size?
Conquest > Dress watch
Hydro Conquest > Sport watch
The correct size for this "everyday watch" is 39 mm.
Buy the Conquest in 39mm on a bracelet and get the 41mm HydroConquest, job done.
Date window at 6 for me
It’s neither. Agree with everyone else it’s an everyday sports watch especially on the bracelet.
I would say a leather strap doesn’t lend well for a dive watch however, what does is a SS bracelet or rubber strap. Just saying…..
The only dress watch with 300m wr
I compare it to a Rolex Explorer I just to muddy the waters even more.
I guess a better option is the 39mm version. 41mm conquest compared to the 41mm hydronquest, feels a lot bigger because of the bezel.
Can this watch use for diving ? Screw down ?
Yes, screw down crown and 300mt of WR.
@@giusepperocchi2979 thank u
Actually the black dial version HAS lume.
It's obviously not a "dive" watch because there is no diving bezel. I think the word you are looking for is "sports", not "dive"
21mm lugs, why?!!!! Long lugs, why?!!!!!! No applied markers on the black dial why? Love the looks and price of the watch. Just don’t know why some questionable decisions were made. Why so confused about the dress vs dive thing? Lots of watches like this, black bay, green explorer, dress KX. Call it dressy sports watch. This watch was close to being a home run.
I think it is not a diver and not a dress watch. It is an elegant sportswatch. For bigger wrist only and for my 17.5cm wrist this is simply too big.
I think you would carry 39mm version better.
I think its an explorer.
Not sure on the crown
How often people dive 😂
Just buy what you can afford and think is nice 😊
ماشاء الله 🤍
Why can you only buy it on Jared's and then fake sites? I can't find that watch on any other trusted company's
Jared will give you easily 20 percent off in store and there an authorized dealer , you could also get it at mayors or logins if you have a boutique Jomas shoppe seems legit too no fakes that I know of
It's a dress-diver
TLDR: More affordable Aqua Terra. Got it. 😅
It's a dressy dive watch
Why have a date window anyway ! And on a personal level why razor cut your left eyebrow ?
It's a scar... I get this alot lol
