His signature is modifying the guitars amateurishly on purpose. Buy a Jackson do it yourself and you basically have a signature guitar. Add the "strap" he has on all of his guitars and no one can spot a difference. That's basically what he tells in EVERY video about his guitars. You can't just replicate that ...
Not really, only on the surface. Off-stage, he's someone who takes his craft seriously. On-stage, he's exactly the same, the difference being that he's then engaged in said craft which includes showmanship and theatrics.
One of the most underrated guitarists ever. His work in limp bizkit is better than ALL nu-metal guitarists. And to be able to see his pragmatic approach to guitars is very refreshing.
I like that most of his guitars look old and beat up, and each one’s got a story to it. Glad he’s kept all of ‘em rather than just buying new ones. Severely underrated musician. Loved Black Light Burns.
@@IllusionOfStrength I've got one in my michael amott V and karl sanders also uses them in his Vs you should try it out sometime if you have one. (hetfield also used it in his V to record MoP).
Sad to hear him say no more black light burns. Glad to hear he’s happy. I wouldn’t want him sad but godamn I loved that band. Never occurred to me it was sad or angry just deeply resonated with me
The invader is a really heavy/bassy sounding pickup and when you remove the neck you remove some of the mud from the bridge , I'd do the same thing ...
@jeffrivera6 sure no problem, having an extra hollow cavity in the neck takes the lower frequencies out just like a chambered les paul, the invader is a very bass heavy pickup.
Are we just going to gloss over "I can't do BLB anymore, I don't have lyrics, I am happy all the time now" Good for you Wes... genuinely happy to hear that.
Wes's creativity and laid back attitude never ceases to amaze me. The live rig setup is a sight to behold as well. Having seen this tour, the amp setup really pops in a live setting
He sounds awesome live. LB still sounds like a 20th Century rock band, a lot of shit that came later has a compressed/digital sound. Tones are all buried.
I fucking LOVE Wes, man. Hope the next LB album has more of his guitar work. He's one of the most creative and unique players i've ever seen, love his personality aswell.
I have been following wes for years ever since he started. I get the stage persona, but when you see him do this, you can see how he thinks and feels with the gear. he is one of my favorite guitarists of all time.
The complete lack of neck pickups makes me happy. The straps and strap hardware being bomb proof, happy. Large chunks missing from some, decades of stories, etc. Awesome.
Not just a mask, he often wears pitch black lenses, full body paint, obstructive and hot costumes yet he stills rocks like it's his last. He's one of my guitar hero for sure
Glad to hear that Wes is doing well and because he has so few problems he can do more project 👏 live that good life brother and the care of your family 😎👌
Saw limp bizkit in Dallas on this tour. Glad they are still rocking out! Wes is personally one of my all time favorite guitarist and glad I got to see him own the stage back in august 🤘🏻 Ps, it’s awesome listening to him talk about all the history of his guitars.
i got one JS32 rhoads because of randy, and one V because of wes, and ofcourse, i got inspired by dave mustaine as well. i cant go wrong with these three fantastic shredder, human, personality.
Those Jackson's come with some crazy paint jobs. The guitar player in my band used to have a "Teenage mutant ninja turtles" paint job on his Jackson Roads.
Yeah the lefty king v his #1 needs to be a sig guitar. So sick. I'm so over all the strap locks out there, I'm about to go to his eye hook system. Just makes sense.
I had a Rhodes that was a righty I swapped the nut and put a left handed locking nut on it on a string through guitar. Loved it till it broke in two when we were moving houses.
Would have been interesting to hear about the Diezel VH4 and how he’s using it. I guess that was a no go because it’s a Jackson / EVH focussed rundown?
He mentions that in the video basically the tour is an outdoor tour during summer and it was very hot and the bar kept slipping out of hand so he tapped them all up
Not what he said though. He always tapes his wammy bars because it's easier to grip them for songs with a lot of whammy stuff. That particular guitar that he talks about has a leather strap under the tape because he uses it on a song whit crazy whammy stuff going on and he adderad tje leather strap because it kept slipping with only the tape there.
Man seeing this just makes me wish Jackson would make a reversed headstock King V! A King V (KV2) with reversed headstock (and direct mount pups IE no pickup rings) .. I would be a day 1 customer. All they need to do is put the King V body on the current Rhoads Pro Plus specs. (I know the Corey Beaulieu model exists but thats not the original King V shape and its 7 string)
I'm not a big Limp Bizkit fan, but I really have a lot of respect for their rhythm section. John and Sam are the backbone of that band in my opinion, and sadly get overlooked compared to Wes, Fred, and Lethal.
@@MrWorstnameever Sam is such a damn good bass player though too! He even recorded bass tracks on the Queen Of The Damned Soundtrack with Jonathan Davis, I don't think a lot of people know that.
That 81 Rhoads!!? Gotta know the story of that build, would it be one made for the NAMM show back then? Didn’t think there were many apart from Randy’s before 83-84
@ thought so!! People would be onto that so fast if it was!! Imagine modding it! There were 2-3 made for him that he didn’t get hey? That cream one they accidentally sold to that guy at namm, and another black & white?
@@benwilson9071 Yeah, plus, you can see a TM or R next to the Jackson logo if you look closely. A prototype-era Rhoads wouldn't have that. The logo isn't the hand-scripted version Randy had, either.
dude when is this guy gonna get his own signature guitar? Come on!!
Hell yeah
Had one with Yamaha for a little time

If I’m totally honest it just kinda seems like he doesn’t care for it, no way any brand wouldn’t gladly offer a signature opportunity.
@@hansolo8080 Agreed.
The dissonance between Wes' onstage appearance and his personality offstage is so hilarious

One of the most underrated guitarists ever. His work in limp bizkit is better than ALL nu-metal guitarists. And to be able to see his pragmatic approach to guitars is very refreshing.
And it’s cool that he is using pedals instead of modellers in this era too.
That left hand Jackson is so great, his story of how he made it his own, makes it even better
