Semi beginner here, am making this shawl, have made a billion mistakes, learned so much, feel like I'm improving line by line.... THANX!!! :) directions are easy to listen to, easy to read, and is improving my confidence.
For those concerned-I saw a post on Instagram-she is taking a break as her husband is ill. She thanked people for caring and will be back when things are better.
Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern! I’m so excited to finish mine. Just commenting timestamps for the two different row types so I can easily reference them later. Row with 7DC: 13:27 Row with Vs: 15:27 Border: 18:44
For anyone looking to try this I highly recommend you do! It's super beginner-friendly. Sometimes I miss a v stitch or double crochet and don't realize it till I'm on the next row, but you can still continue on without undoing everything. The mistakes are near impossible to spot, and super forgiving. Thanks Sirin for this lovely pattern and tutorial!
That happened to me! I was so scared, but I was able to make all the 7 double crochets in the stitch where I was supposed to make a V. It bothered me so much but now I can't even find the places where I missed the V stitches. I love this pattern.
@aliceharrison-df3re - try to slow it down and write out what she says. Ultimately, the video is difficult to follow "at speed" - once you get going, it's a 2 row repeat that is pretty easy once you get going! With only double crotchets and chains.
Thank you for sharing this I just started crochet 3 months ago. If I can do it as 40 y.o. man, everyone can! Easy to understand and follow, that will make beautiful gifts for this year.
I started in January. I made a super easy triangle shawl before, just 3 rows granny stitches and 3 rows double crochet. Now I'm ready for something more advanced. 😊
For anyone having problems continuing this pattern...it was fairly easy when i figured this out, one row is doing shells in vstitch, and 1DC on top of 3DC in prev round, so alternate( shell, 1dc, )and after every shell and dc there is a ch1, the next row is doing the v stitch on top of the 1dc, and 3 dc in the 3rd st on the shells, and ch1 between each v stitch and dc's, so one row is shell,ch1,DC(in the middle of the 3dc)ch1...and the next row is v stitch, ch1, 3dc(starting in 3rd dc in shell) ch1❤ i hope it helps those who were having problems really understanding what to do w/o video
I absolutely love the look of this shawl. I just made it for my oldest to wear to prom. I gave her a few designs to choose from and she chose your design. I used Yarn Bee yarn 3 weight, 5 mm hook... It's black with a hint of sparkle to match her dress. Can't wait to see how it all comes together (dress and shawl) in a couple days! Thank you for sharing this beautiful pattern
I made this shawl for someone who's like a mother to me, and a very dear friend, and I'm about to give it to her in about 30 minutes. I'm so excited that I'm making a miniature one for my baby niece too. Thank you so much for this pattern!
Thank you for making this video. I wanted to make this shawl for my mom, but I didn't even know how to make a double crochet. Your video helped me so much, and I am now about halfway through the shawl. Thanks so much.
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed crochet this shawl. Thank you so much! The yarn is absolutely great, and the bigger crochet makes the shawl extremely soft. Great project 👍
I'm a beginner crocheter, but this is super easy to understand! I just did a little swatch to test how I do, and i loved it! Will be starting my shawl tomorrow 😍
Just wanted to come say I just finished this shawl and gave it to my mother-in-law for Christmas. It’s so beautiful, thank you so much for this video, I wouldn’t have gone for it without it! If anyone’s worried about how much yarn you’ll have at the end, you can buy the last color from Turkey online - YarnArt Unicolor. They don’t sell it other places so just make sure to order it early. I needed a bit more at the end but the shipment from Turkey took over a month so I had to buy another cake to make it for Christmas 😅. Highly recommend as others have said, my first shawl and I can’t wait to make more!
@@arinonihonglish So happy to read you like the tutorial 🧡 I hope your mother in law likes it. I think there can be no better gift than a gift that is so thoughtfully thought out and made with effort. ☺️☺️
I found this pattern very easy to follow, learning the two repeating rows were easiest when I would pause the video as I went along, stitch by stitch. Since the two repeating rows are very basic, was easy to memorize pattern completely. I’m almost finished with my first one (halfway through the border) and I’ve already received so many compliments from those who see me working on it, can’t wait to finally wear this out and about!
I’m half way through this project. I used the same brand as it was a Christmas present and it is very nice. I normally use Alize and I normally knit shawls but I really wanted to try this. I had to stop and rewatch parts several times as I’m a slow learner when it comes to spatial and visual learning. But it’s turning out beautifully! I’ll watch the second part when I get to the end. Thank you!
I love this yarn as well. It takes the guess work out of picking colors because Yarn Arts does it for you. Great to work with I love the way it goes from one color to the next and find myself watching for it as I crochet. I have made 5 shawls with this yarn and have purchased 5 more different colors and have not made a dent into the choices of this yarn. You will love it in project you pick.
Today I finished my shawl. I am so in love with it. I will be starting my second one in a different color. Thank you so much for your excellent instruction. This is my first time working with cotton and such a thin one at that. I totally enjoyed the new experience.

I have finished this scarf today. Sirin, Thank you so much for this video. I used the same yarn only not 1 but 1 and a half cake so it would be a little bigger. And I did the border all around the 3 sides.
