@@FriendlyCroock Thank you for saying this. Today's interpretation of Baroque and Classic Era music is just taken away by those politically correct "period performance" soyboys who diminished and degraded everything down to a minimal and primitive level.
Perlman is one of the few modern violinists who can make the violin 'weep.' Truly magnificent. The second movement is particularly beautiful...as if cascading down from another world!
Such a joyful piece from Amadeus. He goes from delicate to grandiose and back so smoothly. There was a man who knew music from every fiber of his being. The orchestra, conductor and, of course Perlman do excellent justice to this Concerto. I bet Mozart smiled when it happened. Thanks for posting!
Yeah! bowing articulation is so beautiful and graceful, much more tonality is so dreamy, beaming and lovely. (91yrs.Japanese) that's what I thought, brillante, brillante, brillante, brillante, splendid forever. I would like to say that's Real Mozart. If we some one could play Mozart No.3, he is real musician and violinist.
Grazie ❤ Siete bravissimi.
There are three seconds of other-worldly magic in: 3:01 - 3:04......Listen to the two different ways he repeats the same notes - bowed smoothly the first time (and yet still with remarkable clarity) and spiccato (bouncing bow to emphasise the notes by introducing a tiny gap betweeen each) the second time (which requires an extraordinary level of technique and control). And his mastery of these skills is so complete that it's not ostentatious playing, which would obscure for us listeners the wonderful music. And all of this little marvel is over in just three seconds. Even Hilary Hahn (I've just checked) whose technique and musicality are widely feted - even she comes off poorly in comparison of this phrase.
To play this piece with the finesse and elegance it deserves is no easy task! I am learning this piece and the Franko cadenza...a challenge to play and an even greater challenge to play well! Once again I am in awe of Itzhak Perlman's skill and talent and crushed that I was born 30 years too late to see him perform in person. 😭Thanks so much for posting this and giving me a chance to see him play this wonderful piece!
Out of genuine curiosity: Did or are you practice(/ing) Franko's Edition Cadenza identically to Perlman's Performance from the video or referencing the violin score part, as printed on the manuscript?
Wonderful, very beautiful Maestro ITZHAK PERLMAN my favorite violinist 🎻.I Love Mozart and i Love Maestro ITZHAK PERLMAN i respecté im very, very....❤️🌷
Not only am I learning this piece, I am also learning this cadenza. At my level, it is excruciatingly difficult. I love seeing such an amazing violinist playing the same pieces as me. Great job, Mr. Perlman!
On par with Mozart's genius! Other than the date of his birth and that of his death (1756-1791) I always think of Mozart's age, 19, when he composed this concerto! I wonder for how long he had it in his mind? Did he write it in one afternoon? One morning?
Somebody at last getting it right - Perlman musical perfection. Mozart and other composers should write... 'dear violinists you have the cadenza to show off, please leave my music alone.' How many times do we hear the violinist going in hard at the beginning of this pieces! Perlman balances it perfectly. Played it like he was the composer.
I'm playing the first movement for a mandatory school rehearsal and i'm so stressssed it's so difficult!!! the tempo, the rhythms, shifts, it's all so overwhelming! and i've only been playing for two years any advice?
Yeah it's better not to play anything that's too hard for you since it won't be very productive, but if you must, then practice slowly is all I can say, especially for the shifts. Shift up slowly and get the feel of it as you go to the right place, and you have to get the shape of your hand and position of your thumb so you can play comfortably in the higher position. But if you've only been playing for two years you probably can't even play in tune and with good tone in first position, so you'd be better off not bothering with that "rehearsal" and just practicing fundamentals (scales with all sorts of bowings and parts of the bow of course, but also some études for your fingering and bowing. If you have a private teacher, they probably have already given you some; otherwise, find some or get a teacher).
Perlman plays this concerto so beautifully. Can't compare him to or mistake him for any other violinist. Truly lively
@@ludwigparraperez7801 agree... and Pearlman plays all concertos beautifully, not only this one. My favorite is Brahms
Every time Itzhak Perlman plays a violin he makes it human
The orchestra is of a very high level of performance.
It's larger which is not very common with today's pathetic performances when it comes to mozart's violin concertos
Yes, absoulutely. I also noticed that. I think that japanese orchestras in general stand out with stellar performances.

8:41 that hand-off from Perlman to the orchestra was so smooth, great timing.

An amazing performance with a trully Perlman's signature!

Sweet, soft and smooth perfection by Perlman... 👌🏻🎻🌹
His originality in the Sam Franko cadenza is amazing

The only two people that pull Mozart's 3rd are Itzhak and Hilary Hahn. Two brilliant Violinist's.
Arthur Grumiaux can pull this piece off beautifully too.
Julia Fisher can do it too
Yeah, and this is supposed to be one of the easier pieces for students. Not so.

His Passion.
Perlman is a genius, but I don't understand why everyone seems to want to rush the first movement. Take your time! even if it IS allegro.

Cool But Not Really you shouldn’t be playing the piece unless you’re an advanced player it isn’t a piece anyone can pick up and play

Cool But Not Really, you should just play some scales
My advice- don’t play at all. This requires 10+ years of experience
practice hard, start out slowly
