Yes, sir, there are other great violinists today and yesteryear, and hopefully, in the future, as well; but, in my quite humble opinion, none compare to Mr. Perlman, except Mr. Heifetz, Jascha. If God allows us to hear the quality of Paganinini in heaven, then we'll be able to hear the best.
+Alejandro Martinez Hi Alejandro., thanks for your lovely reply. I cant blame you for your high regard for (Sir) Itzak. There is such a long list of truly great violinists going all the way back to Nicolo Paganini. (Some silly people back then thought that he was in league with the Devil.) I just happen to be a fan of all of them including Heitfetz and Lord Menuhin. (By the way the Strad that Itzak is playing he aquired from Yehudi Menuhin after he retired. When you get a chance just check out documentary Maxime Vengerov 'playing by heart'. Goes for just a tad over 50 minutes. (I am also a big fan of Jazz music., just check out Stephan Grapelli and Yehudi Menuhin playing together.) Thanks. Dave D.V.
Thanks, Dave. How crazy is that, about Paganini?? I will listen to that Menuhin/Grapelli violin jazz duet and the Vengerov documentary, soon. I'm sure it's out of this world! &===(==OI=D) I'm sure someone out there knows how to make a violin out of alpha-numeric characters. I'm not that guy. LOL
+Alejandro Martinez Indeed, Paganini was in league with the Devil, so it is said, but Heifetz was in league with God! For perhaps the single most sublime rendition of the single most exquisite composition, listen to Heifetz playing Beethoven's violin concerto! There's nothing-and no one-comparable, I believe.
Very emotional piece. I feel up to 7:49 the composer was trying to get across that the world is sometimes a harsh and unfair place, but then following 7:49 life and the world goes on and is filled with moments of fun and joy. Only Perlman could pull of this emotional heart string.
+Íñigo Aramburu Arnaiz maybe-maybe not (he is dead now, so who knows), but that is what i interpret out of this piece.....after all, the interpretation of a piece of music varies from person to person, hence why music is wonderful and not fixed to how one should feel
Frank Robinson , Actually listen to Sarasate's own recording of the piece, available on UA-cam. He plays his composition as a little trifle, a mere show piece, not intending any true musical depth in it, just heart-on -sleeve, rather superficial little piece. That said, I love this piece because I think there is room in this world for all sort of music in the classical style. And at the same time, I truly admire Perlman's rendition of this piece, how much more depth he can put into this piece and justify it all. Just amazing! Hats off to him!

Hi Alejandro., thanks for your lovely reply.
(I am also a big fan of Jazz music., just check out Stephan Grapelli and Yehudi Menuhin playing together.)
Thanks. Dave D.V.
Thanks, Dave. How crazy is that, about Paganini?? I will listen to that Menuhin/Grapelli violin jazz duet and the Vengerov documentary, soon. I'm sure it's out of this world!

I'm sure someone out there knows how to make a violin out of alpha-numeric characters.
Depuis l’auteur , en passant par l’orchestre, le chef d’orchestre , le violoniste tous font de cette œuvre une merveille , merci à tous .
Un hombre completo: simpático, sencillo y músico sublime (y yo también uso bastones ortopédicos.....).

Perlman is such a genius with the way he plays this, I'm in love with it.

Very emotional piece. I feel up to 7:49 the composer was trying to get across that the world is sometimes a harsh and unfair place, but then following 7:49 life and the world goes on and is filled with moments of fun and joy.
Only Perlman could pull of this emotional heart string.
Sarasate isn't soo deep. Aires Gitanos (original name od he piece) was made as a virtuoso piece.
+Íñigo Aramburu Arnaiz maybe-maybe not (he is dead now, so who knows), but that is what i interpret out of this piece.....after all, the interpretation of a piece of music varies from person to person, hence why music is wonderful and not fixed to how one should feel

It makes me think of cheese. I 💓 cheese!

When it comes to this piece, no one does it better than Perlman
Heifetz

I'd argue Sarasate himself plays it the best, but I adore Perlman's version.
Leonid Kogan did.

Потрясающе играет ! Супер !)))
I discovered the musician just two years ago…. It was this specific recording that touched me in wanting to know more who this funny guy is….. Itzhak is a musician by nature, straight from the heart, and also very comedian in a way I immediately adopted him in my heart. Through this video I explored many more of his recordings. I really got excited when I found all kind of historic recordings of Itzhak Perlman together with….Pinchas Zukerman….( Pinky for Itzhak and friends).
You definitely must see this recording @Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman - Grand Duo 1….. and also Grand Duo 2.
Amazing…inspiring….impressing..all at the same time. Thank you for sharing these video’s!!
