    As a violin player, I can tell you that the introduction part may sounds “easy” but actually not at all. It requires difficult bowing control techniques and he just did a superb job.

    I am a 38 yr old black female who lives in the ghetto city of East Cleveland Ohio and I love the violin. I don't know how to play, have never played, however; I FELL IN LOVE with the way this man plays my favorite instrument even though I don't know how to play and have never played.
    When I heard the musical score for Schindler's List I had to find out who was playing that violin. The way Mr. Perlman plays is wonderfully maddening.
    I have his CD Itzhak Perlman's Greatest Hits and this song is track number 6 ( I love ALL the tracks, especially 4, 5, and 6). It's about time a video was shown showing him playing this song. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Anybody can rap, not everyone has a TALENT. He has beautifully mastered how to play-not the violin strings-but my heart strings, THAT IS SKILL.
    The CD I have belongs to the Windermere Public LIbrary and I refuse to bring it back because I love it so. I just keep paying the late fees, o well, so be it.
    I love it, I wish I could meet him.

      You could actually save the the money you will pay as late fees and buy a CD of your own. I think this album it's not expensive at all, if you are willing to buy it.

    This rendition is arguably the best I have ever heard - and I have heard it played by all the violin giants of the Golden Age. Mr. Perlman exceeds himself here, capturing the Gallic spirit beautifully. It's all here folks! No need to look further. After this rendition, few violinist today should dare to record it. Mr. Perlman owns this piece!

    It is a personal, metaphysical phenomenon that informs and directs his actions, and is not teachable...

      sarah lee*0* Do you really believe what you just said? You think you can be an amazing violinist like Perlman without practicing and just by being talented? His talent was achieved by his fierce history of violin playing and performing. How dare you say that his talent wasn’t achieved by the overwhelming time he put into practicing the violin

    • @danishdanial5596
      @danishdanial5596 4 роки тому +2

      @@dash595 tbh saying all of that he has acheived was because of talent sounds like a terrible insult. To be able to play like him, you need a combination of talent and practise. How far can one even go without practise? Yeah, not much. If you think that being talented is enough to be like Itzhak, then you're dead wrong.

But Perlman is absolutely OK with his acial expressions - the reflect the beauty of his artistic soul and I find the whole package wonderful. But, why all this talk? Just watching him with the chinrest up against his chin, how he must literally feel the sound, just as a singer does when performing. I can't imagine anything more...well...more sensational.

    Thanks for posting this. Knocks me out of my chair to see and hear Mr. Perlman do his magic. I had to check the playback speed to be sure it hadn't been re-set to 1.5 times normal. I played fiddle five decades performing and recording w orchestras and rock, country, folk, bluegrass groups. But in the grand scheme of things I was a "utility" player, and had a lot of fun. There are so many levels to all this. (sigh) The great thing I finally realized --- you could play and practice for hundreds of years, and never exhaust all the possibilities, always discovering haunting and intoxicating melodies and rhythms and harmonies. There are so many ways to spend your time, and so many astounding people to inspire you along the way! A great time to be alive.

    Hermosa creación de Camille Saint-Saens. Y el Sr Perlman lo ejecuta brillantemente.

    Short of Paganini, I think there is an upper limit of superiority that masters such as Perlman and Heifetz reach. Perhaps it is possible to get a majority consensus amongst an elite panel in determining who had the best technique. The violin wasn't my instrument, so I have no opinion there. I will say that of the interpretations of this song performed by Perlman and Heifetz, I prefer the former. Saint-Saëns' piece sings here. Perlman's interpretation allows for notes to seemingly hang in the air just a touch longer than what I heard from Heifetz, and that's how I like to hear Saint-Saëns' work interpreted.

    Some of his passage work is so clean and strong, better than anyone else - ever. Like at the 4:00 mark.

    Actually, it's not the orchestra, it's Perlman playing faster than his own recording.

      @@Warlock12347 Just realized I'm six months late to see this. Yes, it was kind of stupid of me to respond seriously and I apologize (to Melbourne Tetris), but c'mon man, the joke didn't make much sense.
