this is probably my favorite version of this concerto. the orchestra played with such expression and they really knew how to match up with Frank, who imo has the best interpretation of this piece, even rivaling Hilary Hahn
Still my favorite version of this concerto on UA-cam. Perfect clarity, tone, rhythm, and a certain eccentricity that feels natural and joyous rather than forced and awkward like with so many HIP recordings.

An enjoyable performance. I like Mr. Zimmermann's powerful touch (somehow magnified by his vibrato and the way he plays the first chord and its iterations), and late Maestro Haitink's reaction before starting the third movement. Thanks a lot for this lovely upload.
Bruh.... I'm learning this for a college scholarship performance and now I want to quit.... this is sssssoooooo good and rn I sound soooooo bad compared to him. Wish me luck!

Zimmerman used a great deal of vibrato but it didn’t affect the elegance of the piece. He is the prince of the vibrato! Loved it!
His playing reminds me a lot of Arthur Grumiaux.
He's listened to a lot of Grumiaux :) I think now he even plays on Arthur's old fiddle.
They adapted so well to the always changing tempo of Zimmerman

Vielen danke, Mr Zimmermann! You are still as talented as before!

Listening to it the night before the immense threat of a civil unrest caused by
the election!
Pray for humanity and peace.
Hope is the most important thing!
So beautiful!
A master !
Excellent
Incredible performance
Have listened to this many times, the best performance in my opinion. The quicker tempo makes it alive.
The really best performance is played by Gidon Kremer...
@@laikasfreund8272 I find Kremer's rendition too slow, like he's playing a bunch of notes with no purpose.
I’m not a fan of the quicker tempo. I prefer Menuhin pacing.
@@Burn269 Menuhin is fine, I'm glad you like nice music.
Doskonałe wykonanie wspaniałego dzieła
EXELENT PERFORMING!!! MASTER TOUCH
Unrivaled interpretation. Perfect!!!!
Un moment de plénitude ! Quel immense talent !
👍👍😍😍😄😄very amazing😘😘😘🥰🥰🥰🥰😍
Simplemente maravilloso !!!
Awesome!! I really really like it.

His pinky makes me so nervous. But that`s a great performance
Hahaha)))

OK: Viel Glück !!!!
Magnífico
Berlin sounds fabulous. I liked them better in the old days, had more warmth in the strings.
Ahh... the good old times where the audience didn't clap between the movements XD
Time where audience clap between the movements was 18th century....
Awesome. Very similar style of playing (and sound ) to Arthur Grumiaux
6:53- Cadenza
👍👍👍👍

Who wrote this cadenza? I love it 😻
Franz Beyer 😉
Hope is the most important thing!
In the third movement, the G-minor section, does it sound a bit like "Tarzan in the jungle, can I be your friend?"

The new Itzhak Perlman.
Is he german?
An enjoyable performance although Zimmerman used too much vibrato for my like and also the tempo was a touch faster than I like.
I, too agree about the vibrato, but the tempo was perfect for me
Holy cannoli why are they playing so fast? Better a bit slower IMO...
If this is fast to you, listen to Henning Kraggerud's Mozart 3 1st movement. It's 140 bpm
I am a sucker but this is a sweet, sweet pleasure.
