I gotta agree with you on Gabe’s actor. Ngl, I always felt like the movie’s version was actually probably the version I could best picture being as he was described in the books. Say what you will about the movies, but Gabe was probably the best portrayed character 😂 and idk if this guy looks like Gabe to me, but ig we will see

I think the Dionysus in the movie was pretty good actually. And that joke about water into wine, well, that was the best part of the movie.
So exciting!!! I love the cast, they all fit perfectly… Now we have Poseidon, Zeus and Luke left!!!!!
And Ares and Hdes

And if they introduce later characters early, Silena, Beckendorf, Will, and a couple others.

Megan Mulally was literally my choice for Mrs. Dodds! Hopefully this means they got her husband Nick Offerman in the show too? Perhaps as Poseidon???

I love the new additions!!! I'm still new to the series and fandom, but from what I've seen so far, the casting choices match up with what myself and many other people imagine! Can't wait for the series! The books are already on my long list of must-reads!
Mr D and Chiron are perfect though- dunno abt the others cause I didn't really research much about them yet. But omg I'm so excited!!! (And as I mentioned in my Community Post, if you dare say something negative abt Chiron being poc Ima give you a good oracle slap)

The actor for Gabe gives me more hippie druggie vibes then alcoholic deadbeat vibes. But maybe that’s good too. Also I LOVE Dyonysus’ casting AHHHH
Kinda hope they get logan learman l for posidon but I doubt it they probably want to gets far a way from the first movies
Love the casting, can't wait to see the rest, and the finished product :)
Two things I want to mention as I've seen a few comments about the Mrs. Dodds, and Gabe casting:
1) I've seen a few comments about Megan being very young. She's 63, which admittedly, isn't extremely old, nor, though is it very young. Also, makeup artists are magicians, and I'm confident they will get her looking sufficiently haggish.
2) Timm Sharp being known for his comedic turns. Just because a person is known only, or primarily, for comedy doesn't mean he can't play a non-comedic role well. There have been many in the past who have done it, so try to take some reassurance in that.

The casting is great execpt I imagined Mrs. Dodds to be older and Chiron to be younger but nvm.I am positive they will do well.
Megan Mullaly is 63, and makeup will probably do a lot, as well.

Oh my gods I felt like I burst in excitement! I was really excited about mr D, Jason is perfect for him and the actress for Ms Dodds is actually pretty similar to how I imagined her, albeit a bit younger. I really got a Chiron feel from glynn, since he was more in the background of the pjo series, I never really had a clear picture of Chiron but I did picture a bit more hair, though that’s very minor.
I do feel that timm isn’t really how i pictured gabe, since he was described as more fat and I feel that the Gabe from the Peter Johnson movie was more accurate.
Sally actress is pretty good, and even though i saw her more older and more tired, Virginia is more closer to canon. She is pretty attractive which is a bonus considering sally attracted Poseidon who called her a queen among women

So the most famous casting is Dionysus and Chiron. Is this an indication there going to do what the movies did and put famous people in the roles of the gods? Because I’m not mad. I think that was one of the only things I liked about the movies.

I really hope they don't make it too comedic to appeal to younger audience. I mean the books are comedic at times but it's not like they make Gabe into something funny for instance.
Let's take the common comparison to Percy Jackson, Harry Potter. Harry potter was to be appealed to younger audience but they also don't if that makes sense? It's still something everyone can enjoy and they take the series seriously.
I really hope they take Percy Jackson also seriously and don't make Gabe into a funny guy or make everything too light hearted when at times it isn't supposed to be.

I think the casting for Dionysus looks great but I think Willem Defoe would have been amazing in that role.

I really like these choices, well maybe except Mrs Dodds. In the book she was described as an old hag but her actor is very young. I am though really looking forward to Poseidon, Hades, Luke and Medusa (Hope they don't mess her up again 🤣🤣)!
While Mrs. Dodds isn’t exactly how I pictured her. Her actress definitely isn’t very young, she’s 63. So while she looks very good for her age, I definitely wouldn’t say she’s very young. Excited to see what she does with the character.

The guy who plays Dionysus looks soo innocent and nice I can’t imagine him being the moody,cruel prick his character is, casting was great though.
I always thought that Bill Burr would have made a better Gabe, especially after seeing him in The King of Staten Island.

I really agree with what you said about Gabe. The other actresses/actors before him were reallllly good choices. Jason Mantzoukas is so funny and a great choice for Dionysus. Jack Black would be my first choice tho. School of Rock fans would know why he would be such a good choice for Dionysus. Although I know we’re living in different times and we need more representation, but honestly I dunno how I feel about characters being protrayed by black actors/actresses cuz it’s not the source material and the characters we know. Do ya guys think it’ll ruin the characters for us? After how disconnected the movies we’re, I was really hoping for it to be as accurate as possible.

In the way he’s described he’s kinda a jerk at first as far as the actor. He is full ADHD 99% of the time idk if he can do the hard parts
@@Unclaimeddemigod oh it’s not that at all!!!! I just not a fan on the way he acts. Mr D is supposed to be intimidating to Percy in the beginning. And I don’t think (or haven’t seen) the actor play a serious role
