The casting is bad
When I read the article and saw Olivia as Nancy, I just thought "Leah, you may need to be more careful with what you post on Instagram" 😅The fandom was quick to theorize she would be Nancy (as it was impossible for her to be Rachel).
I love this cast and the fact that they kept the ages accurate. When I first saw Luke's actor I thought "yeah, he definitely looks like the kind of guy who would manipulate people in camp and no one would care because he looks charming" you know? haha
When I first saw this red hair girl i thought this was too early to cast Rachel but when I read that they casted her as nancy I was kinda shock.
But no complain I've high hopes for this.

@@neetarawat9815 It's pretty clear that Rick is much more interested in acting skills rather than looks, so I think you guys shouldn't be too excited for a redheaded Rachel. She might look nothing like people are expecting haha

I feel weird calling myself a fan of this series since I haven’t even finished the fifth book and am a new fan but I’m really excited and I hope they do the books/characters justice

Awesome! Now, there is nothing else to do but wait for the cast that will play the gods (besides Dionysus of course). Also, I know that Rick says that they will not care about appearances and I am on board with that. But, I really hope they give Charlie a scar. It is very important in Luke's personality. I mean, I do not want to act as racist but Luke's scar is exactly what drives him to become a villain and Kronos' servant. Without it we have no Luke.
How is that racist?
Yeah, the looks don't really matter as much as the plot, but Luke's scar has to be there because it's not just a physical trait, it's a huge part of his backstory and his character.
It’s the same as Daniel Radcliffe he didn’t have a lighting scar when he got casted. Never the less Harry Potter has a scar

i’m really excited for luke’s casting. i’ve seen charlie bushnell in diary of a future president on disney plus and he seems like he’ll nail luke’s calm, unassuming friendliness which will make him turning on percy that more effective

With the way they've announced Nancy as seemingly an important character, I feel as though she may have a bigger role in the series (at least the first season) than she has in the books. She's not that important of a character in the books she's just a bully in the first few chapters who is easily forgotten about, I don't feel they would have announced her like this if she didn't have a fairly large role to play in the season. Also, unrelated, but wouldn't it be really cool if in the casino scene we see Nico & Bianca in the background? Or maybe even interact with the main cast? That would be a fantastic easter egg/foreshadowing for the third book/season! Anyway love the casting so far! Can't wait to see the next casting updates!!
@@Unclaimeddemigod Yeah I definitely agree about the Di Angelos, at most I reckon it would be sick to see two kids in the back of some casino scenes that look like the Di Angelos just from the back not seeing their faces, probably not that likely, but it would be sick to see nontheless!
I mean the only way I see Nancy haveing a bigger role is if they make her a monster in disguise like Ms dodds or a demigod in my opinion
I don’t even care about his hair. It’s the fact that he’s also Bobby for me. (Not literally, it’ll be cool seeing him as an antagonist). He’s the only cast member that I recognized immediately and that excites me. Clarisse looks so pretty and you’re right. How are they going to cast Silena?

There was a perception? I thought It was just their thing. Ares kids are violent, Demeter kids like nature, and Aphrodite kids look good whether they want to or not.
The casting is bad
@@BenDover-904 it's actually really good casting because they're finding actors who can accurately portray the character instead of basing it all on looks. talent and chemistry with the other cast members is more important than looks because at least you can change how they look. you can't change how well they act!
Yeah, i think that scene with Nancy in Last Olympian isn't a part of the book. It's a deleted scene i believe. If you're talking about how just during the battle Percy, Annabeth and Grover stumble upon her and the rest of his classmates being unconscious because of that Titan putting the world to endless sleep and all and how Percy removes them away from harm on the road and Grover's like should we draw a moustache on Nancy's face and it portrays how Percy's grown as a character by not doing that.
I personally think episode 1 is going to end after the Minotaur fight, and episode two is with everyone at camp that ends with Percy getting claimed at capture the flag
Of course Clarisse is beautiful. She's a child of a god. Wonder how beautiful Aphrodites children will look.

In the books she is described as having the build of a rugby player so I am looking for a well-muscled body but nothing over the top
@@TheFallenFaob well she was still plus sized in the books. i’m not complaining about the casting because i love dior so far, but it’s kind of upsetting that so far, rick has made his plus sized characters skinny. plus with what he did to frank in heroes of olympus wasn’t the best decision either. but even with that in mind i will support and defend all of the casting choices

Clarisse is intensely loyal to her friends? I remember it being a big plot point that she didn't really have many friends
Because of her rude nature at the start clarisse is rude and has a ego but in the end it’s shown that she is rude and a bit arrogant but intensely loyal
For sure. Just think it's strange that she's being introduced like that when it'll be at least season 4 until it becomes one of her traits

I'm kind of fine with clarisse, I expected they would change it up, but luke... I expected blonde with blue eyes, god-looking guy. So...bit dissapointed on the looks. We will have to see the acting. Still not giving up on these folks.
@@Unclaimeddemigod oh he IS a good-looking, i am not saying otherwise. Just he is not my luke-looking. But it's just subjetive physical , so no big deal.
With Nancy, honestly I don’t really care that much from I remember she appeared at the start very briefly bullying Grover and arguing with Percy and I don’t really remember her physical description that much and even if it was off by a long shot I’m not sure most of the fans will care for a character who appears for like 5-10 minutes throughout 5 seasons 🤷♂️. With Clarisse I don’t remember much for her facial description so it doesn’t get to me that she’s pretty or that she’s not white, what I have a slight problem about is that the one thing I can remember about Clarisse is that she’s described to be a very buff and muscular female in the books and this girl doesn’t really fit that description neither does she give off the type of bully or intimidating aura ( I’m not sure if Movie companies are able to fix that so I’m not sure if it’s a fixable issue or not, but if it is then I don’t have much of a problem 😊) and as for Luke the only real problem is of course the black hair which is an easy fix but tbh I think he’s a good cast because Luke is meant to give off the innocent/nice guy aura and is shown to be a very seductive and pretty boy appearance making both Annabeth and Percy blush and being described as very desirable and this guy does look like the stereotypical pretty boy. Altogether the casting so far has been very good not just for these three but overall :)

It's so funny Charlie Bushnell looks like the grown up version of the Percy from the original concept art. And Walker is how I imagined younger Luke. Lol!
Yeah, that scene with Nancy in the fifth book was cut, but I hope they add it in the show because it is really meaningful!

The actors look almost exactly how I'm imagining them to look! I know that some people are going to call out the hair aspects and everything, but I'm sure they'll figure it all out! They look great! Can't wait to see who else will be added!

To be fair, I think it would be quite hard to find a 12-18 year old actress that is "ugly and muscle-bound" naturally. Plus, if they purposely cast an actress that is "ugly" to play the role wouldn't that be really mean? Appearance didn't come into place at all in the casting for Clarisse, it was just about who played the role best similar to all the other casting. So there probably won't be any transformation for Dior to go through, they might just roughen her up with some scars and injuries.
I'm so excited for the series! I'm excited for the Titans Curse because of Thalia and Nico and Bianca!!
Also random thing but if they do Heros of Olympus and maybe MAYBE trials of Apollo would Will be the same from the Last Olympian!?!??? Cause that would be like AMAZING 🤩

Is there an official release date for this series yet? I love percy jackson, I read all the books from the original to heroes of Olympus to trials of Apollo. I remember adoring them, but I can't remember the entire plot, so the series will be a fun refresher :)
I personally I think the Clarisse they chose is fine she’s half god in my mind all the demigods should be good looking there parents are gods

The funny thing is the actor that plays Clarisse is exacly how I imagine, and so is everyone else in this list except for Luke having blond hair.

@@Unclaimeddemigod Oh my god, you just reminded me that I would've loved to see Sam Claflin as Appolo if he was just a little bit younger, much like he did for Finnick in the Hungers Games saga. And though I highly doubt he would audition, or that they'd ask him now that he doesn't look like he's 20 anymore, I like to think he would've been a fine choice, (still handsome of course, aging like a fine wine), despite Appolo being described like a young man in the books. As for the 12 Gods' first appearance, I do think they will introduce them when time comes for them to be introduced, which would be by the third book/season for Appolo.

I remember head of the class on HBO max I only watched 4 episodes but she was the lead kid on the show and she dud so well in her role she was a gamer girl and she wasn't like a pick me she was actually cool

We have literally been blessed with the best casting we could have asked for! I mean, just look at them- Anyone who hates on them is just stupid. (That being said… the only problem I have with Percy being blonde is that he looks way too much like my fave character ☀️)

@@Unclaimeddemigod realistically coming from a blonde though in less than 5 years his hair will likely naturally darken significantly, i was born white blonde and now i'm a little darker than medium blonde. i'm glad they aren't making actors dye their hair though

I don't think they'll be at camp in episode one because I'm pretty sure each episode corresponds to a chapter but also like I could be wrong and now that I'm saying it I think I probably am because some of the chapters cut off at a weird place to end an episode.

So far the only casting choice I’m a little skeptical on is Annabeth (now, please read the whole comment before you leave angry reply) I have nothing against the actress or her talents, I’m just thinking about the description of her character “stormy grey eyes, honey blonde hair curled like a princess, and tan skin like a typical California girl”(yes I know that not exactly what it said but you get the idea) and I’m just wondering how they are going to make blonde hair and grey eyes look natural with her darker skin, and just let me say this is not a supposed to be a racist comment her description says “tan” now please, please, please do not take this the wrong way, as I said I have nothing negative to say about the actress in personality or in talent, no hate, no shade, just my opinion
Honestly, for me, it was just a surprise. I can’t really say I’m shocked though. I was a teeny bit disappointed for all the reasons you explained, but tbh, I feel like she’ll be a good fit for Annabeth. She gives off Annabeth vibes to me. I think that her not being a natural blonde won’t be an issue. It wasn’t what defined Annabeth’s character anyway. I’ve read the books several times and completely forgot her dilemma with dumb blonde stereotypes, so it must not have been mentioned that much. And for skin tone, I think that her skin being darker will bring out the grey eyes and make them even more startling.

The plot is what matters
There isn't any confirmation that the actors are going to be changing their hair colour or eye colours. I would like them to and most if not all the fans want it as well but Rick has been pretty adamant about how the actors look not being important, so Leah might just have her natural black hair and brown eyes while playing Annabeth & Walker might have his blonde/brown hair & blue eyes. I don't necessarily mind if they do this, but if they do, I hope that they keep the colouring similar across the campers at least considering they're all meant to be half-siblings. So if Leah keeps her natural colouring, then I'd like to think the other Athena children will all have black hair and brown eyes or something similar, but ideally I'd like them to have the grey eyes.

Aside from this topic I was kinda disappointed in the movies when they didn't include annabeth's invisibility cap and the camp orange t- shirt. But uncle Rick included the orange t-shirt in this Disney plus series and idk about the annabeth's invisibility cap (but they can't forget this major detail)
