Should I buy the Warrior X5 Pro+ (if that is the new name?) knee guard when it comes out and see how their bulker model compares to what I believe is the best all around knee guard?
Because of you talking about these earlier this year, picked up a pair of the X4 Pros to replace my Bauer Pros. I'm so happy I did that as they are way more comfortable for me and I have no issues with them slipping. I actually just wear these with a compression sleeve over top and they stay in place.
So I actually went from the Warrior to the CCM KP Pro. Maybe my knees are too sensitive because off all the knee surgeries, but you can throw me in the club of the guards hurting when I landed on the crease of the knee guards. Maybe its my Hašek/Hybrid style, but when I have taken a puck to the knee it stings... so I saw on THS the review of the CCM ones and for the first time I bought something from CCM. They are solid. The landing is soft and I did take one to the side, but it was more of a thud. I do have to agree with you about Vaughn, the landing is not pleasant, it's like landing on cement. Now I still have my Warriors just in case because they did serve me well, unlike the Vaughns and Bauers which I think I gave away about 7 pairs of different models.
I went with the rx3 pro last year right after the 4s came out. Seemed effectively the same except for lower price. Love them. Played around with different set ups and agree the garter and socks works best.
Currently using a set of 1x’s and love them. Played around with the “upgraded” elites and a set of browns. Both were okay but didn’t come close to the 1x. Unfortunately now the material has gotten a lot of wear and the cushioning isn’t good anymore. So now it’s time to change up and your videos are incredibly helpful for getting an idea of what to try next. Still waiting to see if maxond releases theirs anytime soon
I have tried the PAW, Bauer Elite, Bauer 1 Piece, Passau, CCM XF, and still can't quit my OG Ritual Pro Knee Guards. Old reliable, right knee's landing padding is finally starting to wear out, and when it get's even more beat up i'll be going to a newer warrior. Interested to see when you get the bulkier X5 Pro + to see how it compares to the standard X4 Pro.
Currently using the CCM Pro you have in the video. I was happy with them till I took a slap shot in the left leg slightly above my knee . I don’t know if the knee guard segment shifted or the padding just didn’t do its job. I may try the Warriors in the future.
I started off with the Bauer Elite, but found the plastic cap too big, and it was interfering with my pads. Swapped to the Bauer Pro, and have no complaints. Wouldn't mind trying the PAW one of these days, just based on the number of folks who rave about them; but the Warriers here sound like they're worth a look if and when my Bauers bite the dust :)
Do you ever have issues with "rolling off" the lower piece and onto the knee block when your leg is stretched way out? Mine do this and I've considered buying a used pair and taking off one more padded segment to sew on the inside knee side so I'm always landing on padding and never rolling onto the knee block.

I bought an older rx3 pro + and it’s too bulky. I’d be interested to see how the new one stacks up.
If you're made of cash, sure!
I'm between cash with kid, I'll get you soon.
When do the X5 pro+ or newer model come out? IDK if too bulky if you strap pad behind the knee

Using X3 Pro with Mizuno kneepads underneath. The most comfortable and stable kit I've used.

You seriously need to start a consulting company. A company would save a lot of $ with any new designs.
I've been down this journey including having the PAW's brand the warrior isn't perfect but the best of the bunch

I'll talk about that in the video! There are a bunch of problems with the CCM ones.

Pull the straps from behind the velcro ( pull softly from the elastic in other words).
You could make your own tab, a bit of leather/plastic, sewing needle, etc,
have thick thighs and can never seem to keep these warriors knees up. tried tape and everything
i have the x3 pro+ and i find them too bulky. the rx4 pro look slimmer Did they change that? Whoops. asked too soon. you just answered it.
One good question what garter belt would best be use for those Warriors? I am planning to upgrade later
I use the Bauer one since it has pieces for socks as well. But any garter belt will work if you use skate lace to rig attachment points.
@@HockeyReviews Most belts of them have that loop for knee pad?
@@HockeyReviews Ok I see about it, I have no problems with my socks I use NHL and a pair of ECHL socks
You prefer the Pro to the Pro+?
I haven't tried the Pro+, I went with the Pro here to try and get a smaller and slimmer profile like my 1X ones had.
