Thank you for giving us a tour of Alaska with your activation locations! Such a diverse geography and weather. A bucket list radio trip for most of us in the lower 48!
Thank you my friend! I thought I was going to die half way up lol but it was good. I definitely will do more in the future. Thanks for watching my friend, 73
Enjoyed the video! I have actually worked Eric (NL5E) on one of his POTA activations earlier this month (I am in downtown Eagle River) on 2m. I have the KX-2 and I made a couple of K6ARK's tiny mics...Adam makes some cool stuff! I was impressed how well you were getting out! Good Job! Oh, I have the IC-705 too. I like it for digital stuff...but if you want to go light, have a built in ATU and internal 3 Ahr battery, the KX-2 is hard to beat! 73 KL7CA
Thank you! That’s awesome! If I’m out and about packing light I usually run the lab 599 TX500. I’ve really enjoyed that rig. If I’m at a pota park then it’s usually the FT891. This is my first year doing qrp and I have to say I’m really enjoying it. Now that Eric has me hooked on sota, I imagine I’ll use it much more. I would love to have the kx2 or the 705 as well, haha. Thanks for watching my friend, 73
Roger all Jeramy! I forgot you have the Lab 599 TX500! That's a radio I have wanted to get...but since I have the KX-2 and IC-705, I really can't justify it except for the "cool" factor (and maybe the fact it is way more rugged! My buddy TJ (KL3IT) has the Lab 599, IC-705 AND the KX-3. You are motivating me to get out there more with the QRP radios. @@KL7ECoutdoors
Sorry I just seen this! I would love to have all those qrp rugs, maybe after I win the Alaska lottery! 😂😂😂 yes, get out and do qrp. I went out today and didn’t get a single contact because of the contest but man what a view. I’m extremely lucky to call Alaska my home. 73
Heck yeah! I run the same chest rig as your buddy♡ looks like the hill people gear kit. I'm a small lady, so I went with the runner size. They are heckin rugged ❤
Great video! Hope to hear ya on the air. I added you to my Ham Alerts. I'm not in the best shape either. That's why I bring a pack mule, aka my 16 year old son to carry my gear, when I do SOTA 😅73 de W6OBB
